Hotels near Chuxi Tulou cluster in Longyan

I have always liked tulou buildings. After comparing several tulou groups, I decided to come to the least commercial but most beautiful tulou group, the Chuxi Tulou group. Jiqinglou is the most beautiful earthen building in my opinion. While looking at Ctrip, I suddenly found that there is Yuqinglou Inn where I can live. It was a pleasant surprise. I was worried because the journey was too far before departure, but the owner is really super nice , very talkative and introduced me to many characteristics of Tulou. The picture of Heitian in the picture below is the interior of Yuqinglou Inn. It is very similar to the scene in the movie Big Fish and Begonia that I have seen. The food cooked by the proprietress is also very delicious! ! ! The price is very fair! ! ! The sanitation of the inn is very clean, and the boss will also ask us about our needs. It is very livable when it is not too cold or hot in spring. Walking in the village to feel the atmosphere of Xanadu, I really had a lot of worries when planning this trip, but I felt more at ease after coming here. The next day it rained and the clouds and mist on the mountain were more beautiful. Everyone who comes to see Tulou must come to Chuxi Tulou! Yuqinglou Inn is really warm! Give the boss a thumbs up!

If you want to explore the tulou in a more relaxed way, I would recommend booking at least one night in the area. We went for the boutique experience at Du Lv hotel, a beautifully remodeled tulou near Yongding. We were 100% satisfied with the gorgeous and refined accommodation and the wonderful hospitality. With only 6 rooms available, the hotel never feels crowded or noisy so we were able to have a good rest. There is also a lot of common areas within the facilities where you can sit to read or enjoy a cup of tea. Our loft room was comfortable with all the necessary amenities. A very Instagram worthy Chinese breakfast is included in the price of the room and served at another location (remodeled by the same owner) nearby. A special thank you to Kayla who speaks good English and helped us organize transportation from/ to Xiamen and the tulou clusters in the area. We had our evening meals at the only restaurant in the village and the food was fresh, the service was friendly and the price was reasonable. The tulou that you can visit in the village feel very authentic and most of them are still inhabited so you can really understand how people live. During our stay, we visited those tulou and Chuxi cluster that I would recommend because it is more picturesque and not as touristy as Tianluokeng.

This hotel is located in a very friendly, small village. We stayed three nights and freely walked the village and the Tulous often being stopped by curious villagers to ask us where we are from. It’s clear foreigners are few and far between in this village but everyone was very welcoming. We have no complaints about the cleanliness, location or breakfast. The rooms and hotel itself are beautiful. If you are a light sleeper (like my friend) the babies crying in the next room or the child and father laughing and chatting in the other room till gone midnight might bother you. If you’re a deep sleeper like me, you’ll be fine! The hotel staff didn’t really offer much information to us initially. You’re kind of left to it. But when I added them to wechat they did answer questions we had and they cleaned the room when asked. For future reference here’s some information for foreigners who make make the journey. We found two good restaurants in the village and there are small shops with basic necessities. You can arrange a car to take you to different Tulous driving distance away or you could just walk through the village and into neighbouring villages exploring the more authentic Tulous. To be honest, the “tourist” Tulous weren’t of much interest and didn’t take a single photo. The more authentic, natural, “left to their own devices” ones were much more appealing to us. You can’t get the typical shot from a hilltop of a small group of round Tulous here in this village but you can get so much more of an authentic small, relaxing, quiet village experience at your own pace. We had a driver from Xiamen airport - 3.5 hours there because he didn’t take the highway but the provincial road. On the way back to the airport we came via the highway and it was 2 hours. It’s quite far away but we think it’s very worth it if you go prepared. We would definitely stay in this hotel again. We booked this hotel, therefore the location based on the look of comfort and the fact we wanted traditional, with modern amenities so we could relax as well as explore. It ticked all those boxes.

It should be newly renovated, there is no elevator, and the beds are very small. I booked this hotel after seeing two 1.5-meter beds. When I arrived, there were only 1.2-meter beds, and they said that the entire hotel's twin beds were 1.2-meters, so... I could sleep in two beds together. I thought about it later and made do with it, but when I came back to sleep after dinner at night, I found out! The bed is fixed and cannot be moved! My heart is full of energy! If it wasn't too late, I would definitely change hotels. . . The basin in the washbasin is installed backwards. When washing your face, your nose is facing the drain. When the water flows down, the smell from the water pipe will wash up. . . In addition to the dinner at Laoshui food stall (expensive and ordinary), the beef ball soup costs 88 per portion, which is not as good as the Chaoshan one I bought online. The only thing that is slightly better is the stir-fried beef...it's all the little details that add up. My impression of Yongding is so bad! I feel like everything is not worth the money... Oh, the rat rice dumplings on the roadside for breakfast the next day were pretty good.

With the idea of trying it out, I called the owner of the hotel. After simple communication, I quickly rushed over. I was still a female boss. At first glance, the situation was complicated, so I quickly greeted experienced friends to help. It was an accident that turned into a surprise trip. After the rescue was successful, the boss took me back to this homestay called Tianyijia. The cleanliness and tidyness were completely beyond my old impression of ordinary homestays. The female boss is hearty and generous, and our gratitude is really unspeakable for helping people and helping people to help them. I have to say thank you here. You can look at my photos, whether it is the room or the lobby, which are spotless, and only far beyond the standards of some large hotels in terms of hygiene. The local specialties of the food are quite authentic, and the ingredients are also very fresh, the dishes are large and clean. The family is really real, it really makes people feel the warmth of a long-lost time. I hope the boss's business is getting better and better, and the kind people deserve better returns.

The boss also sincerely recommends the beef. The beef is cheap and delicious. Unfortunately, I forgot to take a photo. The wife of the boss picked it. I got some persimmons and gave them to me to eat. It was so sweet to my heart. The boss also gave me tea after checking out. I will go there again next time.

This is a very hearty hotel, the boss is a post-80s, very good business, the bed is very good, the mattress is very comfortable, the quality of the canopy bed is good, the above sleeping personal movements are not affected. Breakfast was done by the boss himself, white porridge with tea eggs, and a few side dishes. The boss also gave us a braised pork and a duck. Parking stops directly at the door and there is no charge.
