I recently had the pleasure of staying at Swissotel Makkah, and overall, it was a truly comfortable and memorable experience.
Check-in Experience:
The check-in process was smooth and the staff was warm and welcoming. However, due to the standard 4 PM check-in time, there were long queues at the reception. To avoid this congestion, I recommend contacting the hotel in advance to arrange for early check-in, especially during peak seasons. If you’re an Accor member, the experience is even more seamless and rewarding.
Ambiance & Cleanliness:
From the moment you step into the hotel lobby, you’re greeted with a signature scent that flows throughout the lobby, corridors, and even into the guestroom — creating a consistent sense of calm and cleanliness. The ambiance is elegant and tranquil, offering a relaxing contrast to the bustling surroundings outside.
Guestroom Experience:
The room was spacious, well-maintained, and the highlight was definitely the breathtaking Kaaba view, which added a deeply spiritual and unique element to the stay. The bed linens were soft and luxurious, ensuring restful sleep. The air conditioning was perfectly calibrated, providing a refreshing escape from the intense heat outside. It made re-entering the room after a long day feel rejuvenating.
The room also came equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay: coffee and tea facilities, quality toiletries, and other thoughtful amenities.
Hotel Accessibility:
A significant advantage of Swissotel Makkah is its location in the Abraj Clock Tower. Unlike many other hotels in the same complex, the lobby is on the ground floor, which means guests can access the rooms directly without switching elevators — a huge plus in terms of convenience.
Service & Flexibility:
The staff went above and beyond by offering us a late check-out while we waited for our continued stay at Swissotel Al Maqam. This thoughtful gesture truly elevated the experience and showed their commitment to guest comfort.
Final Thoughts:
Swissotel Makkah combines comfort, excellent service, and unmatched convenience, particularly for pilgrims and visitors seeking proximity to the Haram. Whether it’s the luxurious bed, the iconic view, or the little details that enhance your stay, this hotel delivers on all fronts. I would not hesitate to recommend it and look forward to staying here again.
Great hotel next to great mosque. There are speakers directly to the imam of haram so you can do prayer without leaving the hotel. Breakfast is so average and the menu tended to be the same everyday. Great view from the room.
Best experience in Makkah Fairmont hotel .. will recommend to all.. Mr saber and Mustafa abdul and Mehmood ur Rehman and Asif and sayoom was best housekeeping team.

Amazing room, booked 3 beds, got upraded to 4 beds. Very nice access, near to haram, easy checkin and check out. Very nice staffs, especially the bellboy. The hotel must pay attention to the cleanliness of public facilities, especially the toilets in the lobby are very dirty.
I recently had the pleasure of staying at elaf kinda and it was truly an unforgettable experience. From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed with warm hospitality and impeccable service.
What truly set this hotel apart was the exceptional staff. Every team member went above and beyond to ensure my stay was seamless, always ready to assist with a genuine smile. Their professionalism and dedication to guest satisfaction were remarkable.
The location was also ideal—conveniently situated near Alharam yet offering a peaceful retreat away from the hustle and bustle.
Overall, my experience at elaf kinda exceeded all expectations. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a luxurious, comfortable, and memorable stay. I can’t wait to return!
Generally an excellent hotel. Some staff members would still benefit from further customer service training however it’s absolutely vital that I mention and praise Mr Amro Bin Malih. An excellent Manager of the hotel who Swissotel should be proud to have.
Great approach in dealing with people and a great person in general.
Plus point - near to haram, hardly 7 minutes wal, quick check in and supportive staff.
Negative - breakfast - not tasty as such, room size smaller with limited mobility if you are three or more, smaller washrooms.
Hotel Review: Raffles Makkah Palace
My recent stay at Raffles Makkah Palace was absolutely outstanding, offering a seamless blend of luxury, thoughtful touches, and exceptional service that made our experience unforgettable.
From the moment we arrived, we were greeted warmly by the reception team and delighted with a complimentary upgrade upon check-in. The upgraded room was not only spacious with breathtaking views but also impeccably clean and beautifully maintained, reflecting the hotel’s high standards.
A special thank you to the reception manager, whose professionalism and welcoming demeanor made the check-in process smooth and set a positive tone for our stay. Their attention to detail and commitment to ensuring our satisfaction were truly appreciated.
One of the thoughtful touches that enhanced our experience was the provision of bath salts, allowing us to unwind and relax after completing Umrah. It was a small but meaningful gesture that added to the overall sense of care.
The service throughout the hotel was exceptional. The housekeeping team was proactive, consistently checking in to ensure we had enough towels, toiletries, and other essentials, contributing significantly to our comfort.
Breakfast was another highlight of our stay. The breakfast service team was attentive and welcoming, ensuring we were comfortable and well taken care of. They even provided a walk-around tour of the buffet spread, introducing us to the menu and explaining the dishes. The breakfast theme was thoughtfully curated, offering a wide range of delicious options to suit every palate.
Desta and Sandhy stood out for their exceptional hospitality. They were incredibly helpful, attentive, and proactive in anticipating our needs, making us feel truly valued as guests. Hajar also deserves special recognition for her patience and creativity in resolving our requests with practical and thoughtful solutions.
The in-room dining team, especially Farouk, provided excellent service. Farouk’s attentiveness and efficiency ensured that every meal was delivered promptly and with care, enhancing our overall experience.
Raffles Makkah Palace sets the gold standard for luxury hospitality. With its outstanding service, thoughtful gestures, and exceptional team, it made our stay unforgettable. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Makkah and look forward to returning for another incredible stay.
KKooksThe hotel's location is amazing, easy to reach al Haram.
However the check in took more than expected, the rooms are old and it needs serious renovations because at this point their high prices are only for the location not the hotel itself.
BBader87The location is right next to the Haram and underneath it are the Mecca markets and Carrefour. The thing that bothered me the most was the elevators.. they are very crowded and during prayer times the wait can reach 10 minutes!
GGuest UserCame in October. Arrived earlier than check in time and didn't have to wait long to get a room - just what you need after a long journey. WiFi in foyer is good, but slow in the room. It's about 10 mins to Haram, but bear in mind you still need to walk to Ka'bah after that and it may be hot and you may not be alone. Besides that, staff was friendly, it was clean and the price was value for money. I would definitely recommend it for solo travellers or friends.
