Riebeek Valley Hotel

The advertised hotel, as in the pictures online and 4 star rating, is NOT the hotel you get in real life! The hotel has been downgraded to two stars. The garden is overgrown and poorly tended to, the rooms (or at least the ones myself and my family stayed in) were grubby and outdated. The carpets were disgusting - old, dirty and full of stains. The showers in both rooms looked like they haven't had a good scrub in ages, the grouting which was once white, was black, there were hairs on the wall in my shower, and the floor of the shower was really grimey. The aircon was not working and due to the many mosquitoes we couldn't have the windows open, so the room was incredibly stuffy and hot. There was no soap provided for the bathroom, and the walls general space was dirty, marked and full of cobwebs and one or two spiders. It was very sad as you can tell it was once a beautiful, well maintained and loved hotel with stunning manicured gardens. The staff however, were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was average but not terrible (definitely not as advertised!!) and the inner sheets on the bed were clean. I never write reviews and it takes a lot to get me to write something negative, but I feel that it is totally unfair to advertise as 4 star with clearly very old pictures, but once you get there to see that it looks nothing like that. We were so looking forward to a beautiful stay here for our last night of holiday and were really disappointed by the lack of care taken in looking after this once lovely old hotel.

Good hotel love everything about it, food, employees, service hood, the view is so good, the rooms are big and welcoming staff especially in the reception it a good experience and I will remember the day always me being there, had lot of things

it was not a planned trip we were traveling and we needed a place to rest and as I was giggling I found this awesome hotel me and my partner we were tired and I asked for room service immediately they arranged something quick, we were so happy with their efforts

Lovely place, food was amazing and the staff too. The kids loved it too. It's family friendly and amezing environment.. No too far from other restaurants and shops... There. Facility is clean and room service staff very Attentive and welcoming.

The employees are very nice and friendly excellent service, had best time with my friends there. I even want to come again with my family next to experience this amazing place so we can bond. If u want to feel at home while you on vacation this is the place to go.

Lovely old world charming hotel. This great dame is busy receiving TLC, so the restorations is a work in progress. Full of history of the town and people who have moved through there. Excellent breakfast, tranquil gardens and natural pool

Lovely quite getaway from the hustle of life. Really enjoyed our stay, and walking through the hotel itself. Loved all the antique and old memories it holds. The gardens are beautiful with all the little table and chairs.

Lovely, quiet and no issues. The only thing was the room did not have a shower. I am not sure if the other rooms has. The garden amazing. The weather was perfect. The shops in town is great and the food amazing. Overall relaxing and safe experience.

We stayed 2 nights at Riebeek Valley Hotel. The room in which we stayed was beyond what we expected - very spacious with a beautiful lounge area, very comfortable bed and a charming bathroom. The breakfast was excellent, providing food for all tastes and preferences. The venue where the function was held provided a relaxed and private space and overall, the hotel has a very peaceful atmosphere. The staff went above and beyond to ensure all our needs to catered for. We can highly recommend Riebeek Valley Hotel for your next visit to this beautiful part of the Cape.
