We had the pleasure of staying at Riad Jibril during our visit to Marrakech, and what a delightful experience it was! Our host, Iheb, truly deserves the title of a legend. From the moment we checked in until we checked out, he made our stay memorable. Whilr it may not be a 5-star hotel, it provided a unique and authentic Moroccan experience that exceeded our expectations. The riad itself, with its traditional architecture, was clean and inviting. The highlight was undoubtedly the serene terrace, a peaceful oasis away from the hustle and bustle of the medina. One evening, we indulged in sheesha on the terrace, a delightful experience that only cost us around 70 MAD. We also had the pleasure of dining on the terrace, where we enjoyed delicious tagines at a very reasonable price of 60 MAD each. The chef's culinary skills were truly impressive. The breakfast served each morning was traditional and homely too! What made our stay truly special was the warm and welcoming atmosphere created by Iheb and the staff. We arrived as guests but left feeling like friends. We were even befriended by the two adorable resident kittens, Sofia, the long-haired tabby, and Leena, the ginger kitten. Their presence added an extra touch of charm to our stay. The location of Riad Jibril was perfect, and the camel in front of the money exchange served as an excellent landmark. The riad was on the opposite alleyway, second door, making it easy to find. We especially enjoyed its proximity to Kasbah, near Zeitun Cafe, a favorite spot of ours to visit at night. The lantern-lit terrace at the cafe provided majestic views that made our evenings even more memorable.

We chose this Riad on the recommendation of our son who stayed two days in November 23, unfortunately our experience was disappointing on several levels: 1- No indication to arrive at the right address, not even on the door of the residence, we lost a lot of time finding the Riad knowing that we had our luggage and that we were in a state of extreme fatigue following a long journey. 2- When we arrived around 5 p.m. there was no one at reception. We had to wait a long time and call several times to find someone. 3- We were offered a room on the ground floor which could only be a converted storage room with a window opening onto a shared outdoor lounge, so no privacy. We were refused a change of room on the pretext that all the others were occupied, it took long discussions to be able to have another room on the first floor which was no better since its window overlooks the room opposite. 4- The cleanliness was not up to par, wet towels, clogged shower, cockroaches circulating in the bathroom and in the bedroom. 5- We asked for breakfast the day before because we were flying early the next day, we were given a tray with a few cups of honey cheese jam, a carton of juice already started, this meal led us to the airport pharmacy to buy an antidiarrheal!

We were actually relocated to Riad Jibril because of an "electricity issue" with another hotel we were supposed to be staying at. Although the hotel is rated 3 stars, in reality, it is a lot less than that. The WiFi was unreliable, the TV didn't work, the breakfast was dreadful, the beds were made from wooden pallets and there were cockroaches and leaking air conditioning. If you want the experience of staying in a riad there are plenty of others out there that are rated 3 stars that are a lot better than this one. I suspect that this hotel is also used as a scam and I would advise steering well clear if this hotel is shown on any holiday website.

We spend 5 nights in Riad Jibril, abd we were very happy and we will come back. Nice place at 5mn walk from the square, staff very frendly, not à 5* hôtel but à clean and beautiful guest house. They organise airport transfert & all kinds of excursions. Thank you ihab & your staff. Alex

The rooms were NOT clean contrary to other reviews. There were stains all over the bedding and we also found insects on the beds. This was after waiting 3 hours for the rooms to be cleaned on arrival. The air conditioning units were only working in 3/6 rooms that were booked and there was a sewage stench coming from them. The staff namely the on site manager Iheb got very rude and aggressive when we contacted the main owner about the issues and was reluctant to address the above issues. We ended up moving to a different hotel a few hours after arriving. He was very happy to get rid of us as he knew we weren’t going to be get a full refund! When we did apply for a refund they lied about everything. Would not recommend at all. Better off spending a bit more for a riad/ hotel with basic amenities and hygiene levels.

We first booked at riad fetouma,we got there but we didn't like the room, Mohamed was there he realised that so he offered another room in riad jibril we said yes and within 5 minutes someone came to take us Which was about 10 minutes walk . Ihab was there waiting for us such a nice guy he is, very helpful all the way through. The location is amazing close to everything and the street itself is very busy with a lots of nice shops very nice food too. I advise you to try the fish shop great food and very nice staff . The breakfast at the riad is like a family home the staff are very friendly and my wife asked the girl to get her something on the last day,she went outside twice to get it and she got in the end. Ihab I really thank you for being there for us as well as the other staff and you guys are my second home and family in Marrakech. See you soon inchallah.

It's the staff that make this place shine. Iheb and the team are kind, helpful, polite and funny. The rhiad is a little haven amongst the chaos if Marrakech. The road outside is full of life and everyday people going about their business. My son and I loved being up on the roof terrace, looking down at all the interesting stuff going on. Listening to call to prayers echo out across the old Medina roof tops in the evening is haunting, loved that too. The main square is a short, interesting, safe walk from the rhiad, we did it at all times of day and night, no problems. There's a cash point with a stuffed life size camel opposite the alley the rhiad is in, handy for dosh and a marker on the way home. Iheb sorted us out with some great tours as well, they were very reasonably priced compared to some we looked at in line. Thanks for everything Iheb and co. Arthur S.
