They said they were lucky enough to get a private room... but I thought they were all private rooms. This place has a minshuku concept, so even if you're lucky enough to get a private room, the bathroom is shared. Accommodation is not cheap either. If I go again next time, I think I'll spend more money and go to another hot spring hotel or ryokan nearby.

The breakfast was just the right amount and very delicious.
The building was quaint and interesting.
The clerk and the ryokan staff were very kind.
I have stayed at ryokan inns all over Japan, but Dougoya's futon was very comfortable and I slept better than ever before.
I stayed with my elderly mother, but it was a little difficult to climb the slope from the station to the inn.
However, it was a very impressive inn.

初めての松山・道後温泉で地理的にも初めてでしたので夜到着して行こうとしたら場所がわからないしサーチしても
道後温泉とは全く別の地域を表示するので到着時大きな障害となりました。 初めての場所で道後温泉にはいるのが
目的で近場を選んだつもりが到着に全く別の場所が表示された時にはかなりパニックになりましたが、どうごやに電話で
連絡をしたら大変に親切に対応してもらい、パニックも落ち着き無事にいけましたし大変にお世話になりました。
このどうごやは趣のある隠し宿で、立地もよく道後温泉から歩いて５分くらいの場所にあり便利な立地にあります。
家族ずれ（特に小さい子供連れ）は絶対ご推奨しません。
松山にまた行く時は、 どうごやに宿泊します（次回は迷子にならずに行けます）その時はよろしくお願いします。
宿のご主人にお世話になったのに、夜到着で早朝出発したのでお礼を申しあがれなくて、申し訳ありませんでした。

The ryokan was well preserved and maintained an old Japanese traditional style house. Our room was a spacious tatami mat room with small and cute yards. Kotatsu (a table with heater) provided a nice touch.
The private bath was small but enough for two to three people.
It is a good ryokan to experience Japanese Inn, especially people from overseas. One side note, you do not expect to sleep on bed in this Ryokan.
Staff was kind and friendly.
