Perfect 3-Day Business Stay during NIFF 2026 – Tulsi Kathmandu Hotel 🇳🇵 Stayed 3 days at Tulsi Kathmandu Hotel during the Nepal International Film Festival (NIFF 2026), and it turned out to be an excellent base for a business-focused trip. Location Very central in Thamel, within walking distance to key areas, restaurants, and festival venues. Ideal when the city is busy due to events like NIFF (held April 2–6, 2026 in Kathmandu). (The Film Nepal) Rooms & Facilities The hotel is brand new (opened 2026), with modern, clean, and well-designed rooms. Strong Wi-Fi, desk space, and quiet environment made it suitable for work between meetings. (Tripadvisor) Service Staff is consistently described as very friendly, attentive, and professional. Check-in and support were smooth, even during high-traffic festival days. (Tripadvisor) Business Suitability - Reliable internet - Comfortable workspace in-room - Central access to venues - Calm atmosphere despite busy surroundings Food & Amenities Good mix of Nepali and international cuisine, rooftop terrace, and convenient airport transfer options. (***********) Overall A strong choice for short business stays during major events like NIFF. Combines boutique comfort with practical functionality. Rating: 5/5 Best for: Business travelers, short stays, festival visits Would recommend and would book again.

Convenient Stay Near Kathmandu Airport The hotel is very well-located—close to the airport and right in the center of Kathmandu. Airport pickup and drop services were provided, which made our travel hassle-free. Food: The breakfast buffet was good, and the highlight was definitely the poori bhaji. However, the Nepal Thali was disappointing and needs improvement. Rooms & Property: Rooms were a bit small but had all essential toiletries. The building is a 7-story structure, so don’t expect spacious gardens or play areas for kids. Facilities: Swimming Pool: Available, but since it’s not temperature-controlled, it’s not practical in colder weather. Parking: Bikes should ideally be parked in B2, but there’s no lift access to B2, so you have to walk to the ground floor to use the lift. Suggestions for Improvement: Make the swimming pool temperature-controlled for year-round usability. Provide better access to B2 parking or reconsider the arrangement. Improve the quality of the Nepal Thali.

Lakhey Hotel is the best hotel in Kathmandu! The staff are super friendly, check-in is very easy, and they always help me get a taxi. They offered a welcome drink, which was lovely. The boss speaks excellent Chinese and even arranged a trek for me—very satisfying! Hot water is great, breakfast is delicious, and their Sichuan restaurant has amazing food (must try!). After my EBC trek, I stayed here again because I missed Chinese food. Location is nice, rooms are big—I stayed in room 1108 with a beautiful Kathmandu city view. Highly recommend to everyone. Very satisfied with Lakhey Hotel service. Best of luck to the team—hope to see you again!”**

My stay at the Marriott was simply outstanding from start to finish. The service was truly impeccable — professional, attentive, and flawlessly organized at every moment. The room was spacious, beautifully designed, and exceptionally comfortable, offering a welcoming atmosphere that made it easy to relax after a long day. The breakfast was excellent and abundant, with a wide variety of high-quality options to suit every preference. The restaurants were equally impressive, serving delicious dishes prepared with care and refinement. I was also particularly grateful for the thoughtful gesture of being offered a complimentary two-hour late checkout, which made my departure day far more relaxed. In addition, the hotel kindly granted me access to the lounge with its generous buffet while I was waiting for my evening flight — a level of hospitality that truly reflects their commitment to guest comfort. What truly elevated the entire experience was the extraordinary courtesy, kindness, and availability of every single staff member. Their genuine warmth and dedication made me feel valued throughout my stay. Each of them deserves recognition — they would all merit an award for their professionalism and hospitality. An exceptional property that sets a benchmark for excellence. I would gladly return.

This is a newly built hotel, and it's rare to find such clean bathrooms in Nepal. It's located in a quiet spot at the entrance of Thamel, right next to the Garden of Dreams. While it's a bit far from central areas like Durbar Square, it's a great place to stay if you're looking for peace and quiet at the hotel. Since it seems brand new, the room was exceptionally clean. The bathroom was also spotless, so I felt very comfortable using it. The breakfast area on the 8th floor offered a lovely view. The front desk staff were polite, but during breakfast, I noticed other guests were asked for their egg orders, whereas I wasn't (perhaps because I had already taken scrambled eggs). Also, coffee (other than instant) at breakfast was an extra charge.

Nice Old Hotel, Great Staff with few needs to improve. Swimming pool is totally disappointment. Better to shut down, than keep running and not swimmable, waist of energy. The water is dirty, no star at all. The lobby, the room and Ghurka bar are still great. 2 power shutdowns in 1 day, I believe they are struggling with power shortages due to dark lounges. Breakfast was so so, coffee or tea should be not a challenge to serve first, sometimes took half of meal before they come. Many Tables are not stable and aligned, egg can easily roll over to other side. Atleast 3 tables on my experience. Room is comfortable, nice bed and always fresh linen. Only noisy from AC , maintenance team came twice on my room to fix, though transfer was offered on my last 2 days. Managers should not standing in buffet line, either they should help the line staffs or directing the team, talking business in public is not of our guests concern. Front desk Trainee, has good presence, I thought first he is manager. A lot can be improved and polished, the hotel has a great potential, nice design, great facilities and great staffs. I wish that management should look all themselves and review those small details.

Location is alright, there’s occasional cockroaches running past you when you are in the room, cleanliness has a lot to improve on. Worst part is that I booked a single room and was given a room next to the elevator with a window without curtain, anyone tall enough would be able to look into my room and everything in it, to add on to that, the room was next to the elevator and you can hear every footstep and noise/chat coming from the corridor, and when the elevator moves, there’s this super unnecessary music that runs with it so you would get a sense of that throughout the day and night. When I went to the receptionist to ask for a different room, she told me there’s no other rooms available and I have to pay an extra 1500 rupee to upgrade to a different room, that amount, adding with the original I paid for- would already be much higher than a standard deluxe room. Obviously she and the hotel was trying to scam me by leveraging on giving a super lousy room at first. Even though they eventually agreed to change room for me at no charge, I was honestly traumatised by this hotel and was uncomfortable through the stay. Then at check-out in the next morning, the guy was reluctant to let me go asking if I had already paid and making calls to confirm about it. Overall there’s surely better rooms for similar price in Thamel, so do try to skip this hotel unless you like some good memorable reasons to spoil your trip.

The hotel service is very professional, the breakfast is rich, and the front desk service is warm and thoughtful. When I asked for water, it was delivered quickly. There is also a hair dryer in the hotel, and the hot water for bathing is very comfortable. Many Chinese people go to other places to find Chinese food, but they find that the most authentic Chinese food is on the ninth floor above the hotel. And the chocolate brownie here is very authentic. It was supposed to be eaten with ice cream, but I asked for hot ice cream, and the hotel immediately made hot ice cream. There is the largest farmer's market in Kathmandu next to the hotel, and 6 big apples cost less than 20 yuan. You can buy all kinds of vegetables and fruits here. Because Kathmandu is often congested, if you connect with a flight, the hotel is very close to the airport, which is another big advantage.

Because I didn't catch the plane, I found a small hotel temporarily in the early morning. facility: Although the hotel is small, the hardware facilities are relatively good in Nepal, which is good. There is air conditioning, hot water and card swipe door locks, which are advanced. But there is no hair dryer either… health: I still saw the hair... environment: Room comfortable Serve: The breakfast provided is relatively simple (Picture 6 is the breakfast menu) The service attitude of the staff at night is good, but the service attitude during the day is average. In the evening, my friend in Kathmandu sent me to the hotel to pick up my luggage and take me to the airport. The hotel staff was even more hospitable.
