The hotel and grounds were lovely. Very clean, comfortable, and wonderful guest service. I appreciate the close accessibility to other locations - it was easy to enjoy the beach, walk to shop or explore, or try a new restaurant.

The issues began when we arrived. There is no parking on property. If you rent a car, you must valet park or park down the street at another property. The cost is ridiculous at $35 per day. WOW! The hotel is aesthetically pleasing. It's beautiful! The front desk staff was exceptional! They know their stuff. Katrina, the concierge, was absolutely fantastic. She helped us book all of our excursions. She knows her stuff about the islands. When we made it to our rooms, they smelled strongly of rotting fish, which never went away. We were told that the smell comes from the water coming through the pipes. The staff at all of the dining establishments on property were rude. For some reason, they seem to think that a bad attitude is worth more tip money. (FYI: Every place you eat in Nassau adds a 15% gratuity to your ticket, which you cannot change even when the service is horrible.) We will NOT return to this property!!

The hotel overall was great, but it really stood out to me was the singer they contracted for the bar area. I think her name was Patrice Marie. She made her stay extra special.

Where must I begin to the staffing and management of British Colonial I must say you guys have my made our stay one to remember. The friendly and helpful staff that work in the food and beverage department they show hands down professional and service with a smile. The breakfast staff in the morning thank you so much for always meeting us with a smile and telling us thank you for coming. But a big shout out goes to the Mahogany Club Staff to Our waiters everything was uniformed everything was nicely organized and everyone was on one accord when it came down to service. Last but not least To the lovely Hostess Janice that works in Mahogany she is such a kind soul always helpful a great listener and was the most wonderful smile you can tell she has been a hostess for a very long time and know the correct standard and procedures In how to deal with guest matters and problems. Me and my friend well surely be back for the summer. Thank You British Colonial for a excellent time

We had an amazing experience at the British Colonial Hilton Hotel we were checked in by Doniqua at the front desk friendly, professional and just amazing, the room 317 was gorgeous I am giving a 4 star because of the shower door swung inside you could not get in the shower. Breakfast was great Luicus awesome server who goes above and beyond, we dine in Mahogany Club the food was fabulous and our server Charles simply the best a must do, the F&B team must add a mocktail to the beverage menu. Ms Theresa and her house keeping so efficient.

We picked the British Colonial for the location (right downtown) and its private beach and pools. It was absolutely the right call - we had a lovely experience. Service was very good on all fronts, except our first night at the Woodes Rogers Tavern, but that was clearly a one-off that was not repeated. The hotel is within walking distance of all the main downtown attractions (maybe 30 min at most if you go all the way to Arawak Cay), but the private beach gives you a nice respite from the cruise ship crowd. Excellent restaurants all around, except - and that is the one of the few downsides - most will close between 5pm-7pm, leaving scarce options for dinner that don’t involve a taxi ride (but there is always a line of taxis in front of the hotel). We ate a few times at the hotel itself and the food was excellent. The menu is just a bit limited to eat there constantly and it made dinner a bit of an ordeal. The other downside was that the room was a bit tight on space. The bathroom was large, with a separate bathtub and shower stall but I getting in the shower stall was a bit of a struggle, even with us people average-sized people. Complementary bottles of water were given every day and there is a fridge in the room. We got a complimentary upgraded for an ocean view and that gave us a lovely view of the cruise ships coming in and out of the port. I would definitely return to the British Colonial if I came back to Nassau.

What a fabulous experience to stay in the British Colonial, such a historic site! Phenomenal renovation with modern touches in the historic building and location. Conveniently located near downtown shops and Straw Market. Relaxing by the pool and beach was so comfortable and enjoyable.
