Location is everything here. And expectations have to be put straight. The apartment (to be fair, this isn't a hotel) is located steps from the subway line 6 which runs stright to downtown. For 34 USD per week, you can forget on Taxis and Ubers, it will get you anywhere within 30 mins. The neighborhood is a bit shady, but wouldn't say insecure. A large store is within 2 min walking distance, an overpriced bakery is next door. The apartment needs new beds (not just mattresses), and should be "refreshed" a bit (the bathroom especially). It wasn't dirty, although based on our socks, it wasn't super clean also. We were also one night without heating and hot water, but it doesn't seem like this was owners fault and it was resolved in the morning. The check-in process could be easier, since it isn't like a hotel where you just show up (no reception), but rather you need to call/text few different numbers (which might get expensive if you are from outside of US). Overall, were happy with our stay, for that money and with the Airbnb ban, I doubt you will find better place for that price NYC. However, don't expect a hotel experience.

The property is a leading misleading stating it’s in Manhattan I. The description. when it’s actually located in E Harlem. It did not have enough supplies stocked (paper towels) and no wash clothes. I will not stay there for future trips

This one is a tough one for me to rate because everything fantastic about it has to do with the location of the space, not the space itself. Location: perfect coffee shop at the base of the stairs, the 6 line is at the corner, the park is a hop away, pharmacies, bodegas and dispensaries are all in your block. Fresh produce and markets, anything you could need. And the neighbors!! If you want to feel like a New Yorker this is your spot. Everyone was helpful, friendly, funny and kind. The apartment itself…the grout was coming out of the floor and sticking to our feet. Floors seem to be cleaned with a Swiffer Wet Jet and not an actual mop. The cheap light over the kitchen table screams constantly, we had to keep it off. Heat is not controllable and it is sweltering. We had to open windows and sleep with the AC on in December. The beds are ROCK hard, as is the old sofa so there is no soft space in the building. There were ample pillows though, I had to sleep with one under my hip. We got so little sleep on the 3rd night I got up with a swollen black eye, I’ve never had that happen before. Bathroom is small but there’s a tub and the water gets hot. Only thin sandpaper toilet paper, so bring your own roll if you are sensitive. The space is good for 2 couples, though the second room had a slanted floor so bad the luggage kept rolling. There’s a coffee pot from the 80s if you’re willing to go buy filters and everything else, nothing extra not even a K-Cup. Take out your own trash.

Not a hotel. Whoa. Eyes wide open here. Huge problem with check in. Only 3 hour window to check in. And must make an appointment! Then poor responsiveness on text. Huge inconvenience. THE GOOD: New fridge, stove, cabinets Cute & clean Tall ceiling Subway mere feet away THE BAD Very sketchy immediate neighborhood at night Steepest stairs I've ever seen Electrical - no way to plug in bedside lamps, problems with kitchen GFI TV bad reception periodically No hair dryer THE UGLY Check in - we had to add extra day of travel plus a stay at a different hotel so we could check in with this "hotel's" check-in window, zero text response, forced to make appointment to check-in, host was 30 min late to appointment, kept another party waiting, too

Clean. Got hot sometimes but nothing opening a window didn’t solve. Very handy to Subway & coffee shop

We very much enjoyed our stay here. The room was basic but had everything that we needed and was clean and well kept. Proximity to a subway station makes getting around the city extremely easy and local amenities and services are excellent.

The property was perfect for our group and so close to the subway. Was a great place to stay!

The apartment itself was perfect, great size, all clean, perfect located to be fast with the MTA in the city center. The only thing that we had issues with was the booking procedure. We had to arrive one day later in the appartment, as we could only arrive until 5pm or 7pm with an additional $75 fee. As our flight arrived in the afternoon, we had no chance to make it and the location wasn't very flexible with that fact. Besides that we recommend the location for staying!

Our stay was short but the place was great! The bakery on the first floor Pabare was AMAZING as well. I wish they would have provided more towels. Overall I recommend the place.
