"The room was comfortable and spacious, offering excellent value for money. All amenities worked well, including the bathtub, which added to the comfort. The only minor issue was that the room felt a bit warm because the air conditioning wasn't directly aimed at the bed, so an additional fan was needed for more coolness. "This hotel just opened two months ago, right by the sea near Portuguese Settlement. I didn't have high expectations initially, but I was so pleasantly surprised! The hotel is backed by the ocean, and there's a clean, beautiful pool right in the courtyard. The breakfast was rich and clean – especially the bread, which clearly wasn't pre-made, and the fruit was super fresh. It felt much more genuine than some of the five-star hotels in downtown Kuala Lumpur! Even at 9 or 10 PM, you could still order food from the hotel restaurant, and the quality here was genuinely high compared to outside options. This morning, the hotel even had a lion dance performance, which added to the festive atmosphere. The hotel manager really pays attention to service details, which is absolutely essential for a great hotel. Having a fresh, high-quality breakfast in the morning is a wonderful start to the day, and you can even swim in the pool after coming back at night. A Grab taxi to Jonker Street is only about 8-10 RM away. It's very quiet at night, with a gentle sea breeze and the pool. It reminded us of beautiful places we'd traveled to before and even brought back memories of my partner's hometown. Because of this, we spontaneously decided to extend our stay for two more nights. Highly recommend everyone to stay here! (The only minor thing to note is that the air conditioning in the rooms can be a bit noisy. Hopefully, they can improve this. It gets quite warm at night, so you need the AC, and it would be great if it didn't blow directly on you.) 1) The room cleanliness and linens were excellent; the towels were tumble-dried, and the sheets were neatly ironed. 2) The staff were warm and friendly. 3) The environment was outstanding, quiet, and beautiful. 4) The breakfast was exquisite and clean. The chicken sausage was the only one with a normal texture among the seven or eight hotels we've stayed at in Malaysia. The à la carte restaurant didn't disappoint either; you could tell the watermelon juice was fresh (many places serve overnight juice). Thank you to the hotel for their dedication, which made our vacation wonderful. If we ever return to Malacca, The Lisbon Malacca will definitely be our top choice."

"If you’re looking for a place that’s super close to all the main attractions in Melaka, Heeren Street Boutique Hotel is honestly one of the best spots. It’s just a short walk to Jonker Street, Red Square, and even the Melaka River, so you can explore most tourist areas without needing a car. There are also several halal restaurants nearby, which makes food hunting really easy. The rooms are clean and comfortable, with air-conditioning and a water heater that work perfectly. Entry to the hotel and rooms is via access card, and the WiFi is available for guests. On the ground floor, you’ll find filtered drinking water and an iron if you need to use them. Just a heads-up, there’s no TV, mini fridge, or tea/coffee sachets in the room. But overall, if you’re looking for an affordable stay with comfort and a great location, this place ticks all the boxes."

"Stayed two nights at this Guan Gong-themed hotel on Jonker Street in Melaka, and it was surprisingly super comfortable! The environment was clean, the atmosphere was nice, and it was within walking distance to Jonker Street, making food and drinks really convenient. If anyone asks me for a hotel recommendation in Melaka, I'd definitely suggest this one! 👍"

"Hygiene: Very good. Facilities: A mix of new and old, it's renovated, but just okay. No conditioner or lotion provided. Service: Since we arrived from Singapore by cruise, we got to the hotel around 9 AM. We dropped off our luggage and went for a walk. It was incredibly hot, so by 12 PM, after sightseeing and eating, we returned to the hotel and asked if we could check in early. They refused... At around 1 PM, our little one really needed a nap, so we asked again and finally got a room. Sigh. Compliant with rules but not very empathetic. The service industry really needs a bit more human touch. The concierge, however, was excellent. Environment: The swimming pool is clean, but it gets direct afternoon sun and closes exactly at 7 PM. Breakfast is good, but if you absolutely need Chinese food, you might consider skipping it and heading to the tea restaurant about 15 meters to the left of the hotel entrance, which is a better option. One side of the hotel faces the sea, and the other faces the Malacca River bay, both are nice views."

"Price is reasonable considering the size of room. The location is the greatest setback if you are not driving around Malacca. If you drive then is not much of an issue as you can get to the famous spot easily. Place is quiet. There is no shopping mall as is abandoned for a while. Overall for short stay should be ok. Checking in process is very easy."

"⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Excellent Service & Honest Staff – Truly Appreciated! We stayed at The Shore Hotel on 15/2/2026 and had a very pleasant experience. The room was comfortable, clean, and well maintained. The location is also very convenient, especially for exploring Melaka. What impressed us the most was the honesty and professionalism of the hotel staff. My wife accidentally left an ang pow with RM500 under the pillow after we checked out. We only realised it later and immediately contacted the hotel. The team responded promptly, conducted their checks, and successfully located the money. They even arranged for the RM500 to be safely banked into my account. We are truly grateful for their integrity and efficiency. It speaks volumes about the management and the quality of their staff. Thank you to the team at The Shore Hotel for going the extra mile. We highly recommend this hotel and will definitely stay here again on our next visit to Melaka!"

"Well... the location is great. You couldn't find a more central or romantic place to stay. The room is also kind of cozy, definitely old-school. Great view of the river. The owner is incredibly nice. But... We booked 36 square meters. The room was 16 square meters plus a small bathroom without hot water... Taking off your shoes at the front door and walking barefoot through the house is also a matter of personal taste. The offerings urgently need to be revised. And the price is too high for what you get. But still, I'd recommend it for the right kind of renter. But I wouldn't book it again... Too quirky. Too expensive. And far too many barriers throughout the house. The toilet is designed for short people."
