Great location close to train station. Very clean modern hotel at a good price. Nice pretty chicks at the reception. Very comfortable bed and a great bathroom. Many attractions near the hotel. Snacks and drinks are available from the vending machine. There are code keys everywhere, which means that outsiders have limited opportunities to roam around the hotel. The only downside turned out to be that a room with a window means a room with a window to other windows from which other residents were staring.

Fantastically located on the quayside. The hotel has parking spaces but these are limited and therefore I parked at the car park opposite Gateshead college, around 6 mins walk away. Tbh it was cheaper to park there than the hotel car park and not that far. The hotel itself is nicely presented and the adjoined bar on the ground floor also has outdoor seating so that you may enjoy the views. The views itself are very decent from the room I was in. The room was very clean apart from a few handprint stains on the wall above the toilet in the bathroom. They looked more like old stains which probably wouldn’t come out unless it was painted again. Can’t comment on breakfast as I didn’t have any, but the hotel provided a complimentary coffee voucher from the bar and also some money off food from their restaurant. Overall a nice hotel and would stay again if ever in the area.

I organised a stay here for 19 people, from start to finish staff were extremely helpful with all matters. The rooms were perfect and better than what you’d expect from a hostel. We weren’t bothered by staff although having a large group of boys there for a stag do. Any queries we had throughout the weekend were answered by staff mostly Jade who was excellent with us all weekend not only helping us with advice about Newcastle and booking taxis but also having a laugh at the same time. I’d struggle to book somewhere else when I return to Newcastle.

We stayed in Holiday Inn for 2 nights in May. The location is good, the room average and very small, the shower ok. The one star rating comes from the fact that a few weeks after our stay we received a fine from ‘Parking eye’ stating that we hadn’t paid for parking in the car park. This is a public car park next to the hotel which was included as it is advertised ‘with complimentary free parking on site’. We gave our car registration to the person at the reception who logged it in to his device. We were not told we had to do anything more! When we contacted the hotel to explain what had happened, they said that it had nothing to do with them and therefore we had to appeal ourselves- they only provided us with a letter which proved we had stayed at the hotel on those days. Parking eye said that the evidence wasn’t sufficient and therefore our appeal was unsuccessful. If you stay at this hotel, just bear in mind that you may need to add another £60 on top of the price for the potential parking fine. For a hotel to advertise free complimentary parking and then not to have the decency to intervene when things go wrong and it is clearly their fault, it is simply ridiculous! STAY AWAY!

WOW what a lovely hotel. My husband, myself and our daughter stayed last night at this hotel, had an evening meal and breakfast this morning. The hotel is extremely tidy and very clean. We didn’t know what to expect at the evening meal but I can say this was amazing with all plates clean at the end and I would expect this level from a high end restaurant. The server was attentive and chatty. After a good nights sleep we had a lovely continental breakfast with hot options and this was as good as the meal last night. The servers were attentive, chatty and friendly too. We would recommend this hotel and would definitely stay again.

We would not hesitate to recommend this City Centre hotel. The rooms are not the biggest but more than enough space. The staff here are amazing. They are a credit to the chain. They deal with any problems quickly and most professionally. Thanks to them we had the most enjoyable stay…..thank you

Our third stay in 12 months. We enjoy the location of this hotel, so handy for bars and restaurants; no taxis required! The breakfast is also amazing, loads of choice, food is hot and fresh, tables always clean and staff are well organised and friendly. The beds are really comfortable, and shower has always been good, and rooms/linen always clean. We like the ice bucket provided and machine in the hall, the complimentary water and having robes and slippers in the room. Two small points that weren't great were as follows. We've never yet had a working fridge in our room. Not sure whether this is a service no longer offered for some reason, if there's a way to switch it on/request it to be on or if we're just unlucky and always get one that doesn't work! Not a major problem, just would be nice to have, or take it away so we don't think it should be working. The other point is just the general decor, as in marked/damaged paintwork, tired fittings, and in this bathroom, damp affecting the grout and shower cubicle fittings plus a big crack in the sink. More wear and tear than cleanliness, and hopefully general freshen up/ refurb is on the cards soon. Still a great hotel in a great location, we'll be back!

Stayed here for 1 night for a Rock concert and was pleasantly surprised with all amenities at this hotel. Very spacious rooms, lounge, bedroom and bathroom all finished to a very high standard. I can honestly say hand on heart this was the comfiest bed I have ever slept in away from home. Al the cooking facilities were present in the room even though we didn't use them but had everything down to tin openers to corkscrews! Lots of clean glasses and plates etc in a lovely compact kitchen/cooking area. Lounge area was finished a very high standard with beautiful seating and furniture all around. Air con worked a treat. Breakfast was served to 10.30am and was really nice with lots of areas to sit and enjoy. Other guests were very friendly which was nice Full continental breakfast along with scrambled eggs, sausages and bacon. My daughter used the waffle maker and was an instant hit. Overall, very nice hard working staff both in the dining areas and reception areas who we found, and went the extra mile to make sure we were enjoying our stay. We had a little niggling problem with the reception on our TV and it was sorted in seconds from a nice chap from reception. Will I be back....? Yes, yes, and yes is the answer to that. Had a lovely stay but felt let down by several issues. Check in was nice & smooth with friendly staff. We had upgraded our room to a superior & it was lovely & clean but had very little storage, especially the bathroom. This wouldn’t have been a problem for 1 night but we stayed 4. The views from the floor to ceiling window were superb. Room servicing appears to have been stopped throughout the country now since covid & if that is to continue then I would suggest larger bins are provided. Surely over a 4 night stay it is not unreasonable to have the room serviced at least once. Our “king size” bed was in fact 2 singles pushed together with the ever present gap in the middle. The toilet paper was cheap & nasty & out of keeping with the rest of the hotel. Breakfast was buffet style, adequate & reasonable. The drinks menu said there was a “guest ale” & to enquire at the bar to see what is was & the price. When I asked what the “guest ale” was I was told it was CIDER. Location is no more than a 5 minutes walk from the railway station. Overall we had a vey enjoyable stay & would definitely stop again.
