Xaro Lodge

I just took a leap of fate and trusted the reviews I got online about Xaro Lodge, and that was one of the best decision I ever made. I wanted to go on a birthday vacation for my 40th and googled through the internet to choose a destination. By luck or fate, Xaro Lodge popped up and with the incredible feedback about the Lodge, I decided to go for it. To say I was happy with Xaro is an understatement, the place is great in all aspects. Adventure starts from a boat ride to the Lodge and I arrived to a nice crocodile surprise by my luxurious tent. The rooms are neat, very comfy bed, wonderful food, and what stood out for me is the wonderful host Renske and her incredible staff Matty, Fly, Poster,Nata, the Chefs everyone! What a great team you guys are!. I wasn’t sure if I would enjoy travelling solo but the Xaro Team ensured I enjoyed it beyond expectations. I was treated like a real birthday queen, with few surprises that includes a SPA trea**ent, and they even baked a special birthday cake for me. What also caught my attention is how organized Xaro Team is in ensuring that my travel was hustle free. From the pick up at Shakawe landing ***** to them confirming my departure time with Mack Air, everything was coordinated perfectly! I feel the 2 nights I stayed at Xaro were too short and a second visit to this paradise is on the cards.

Not just the location of the Lodge is unique, but also the friendliness and quality of the service. We had our dinner table set just at the shore of the Okavango River. Food and wines were amazing. We only stayed one night on our trip underway to the Caprivi *****. We should have stayed for a week!

Xaro was the best lodge we stayed at during our Botswana/Namibia travels. Sean is the ultimate host, and brilliant chef. the setting is magnificent and the staff amazing. I am recommending it to all my friends

What an amazing place. Lots of birds. Beautiful sunsets. The hosts Shaun and Romy were outstanding. They went over and above to see to all our needs. I can highly recommend this beautiful Botswana paradise to anyone looking for a great experience.

I stayed at the extraordinary Xaro Lodge. Romy and Shaun, their staff and guides made my stay a magical experience. The location of the lodge in the Okavango Delta is breathtaking and the proximity to Tsodilo Hills and the Caprivi *****/Namibia make the spot a perfect starting point for exciting day trips, bird watching and bush tours. I was thrilled by the high quality food, which was prepared every day with a lot of love and at the highest level. Many thanks to Romy, Shaun and their team!!! Words cannot adequate describe my breathtaking experience at Xaro.

During our Safari Tour through Zimbabwe, Botswana and Namibia, we stayed at different Lodges - but Xaro Lodge was by far the best one. Very friendly people, familiarity, peaceful envirnonmanet and a clear commi**ent to preservation of nature's treasures made this stay very unique. We would like to come back to stay longer

We really had a wonderful, super-relaxed stay at Xaro Lodge. From the airplane ***** we were driven to the jetty and the boat of Xaro on the Okavango river. Tom and Fly, the marvelous nature guides, then brought us to this heaven of silence and birding paradise, wide open on the bank of Okavango. Everything was perfect, thanks to the organization and hospitality of "natural-born" hosts Romy and Shaun. Delicious food, romantic dinners on the lawn, ever so helpful staff, impeccable glamping tents, the peace and quiet in this little piece of heaven, and the multitude of birds on the boat trips and in the camp. Coming to rest on our porch, overlooking the river and the sunset was pure magic: we even had our own family of *****ed swallows in the porch-roof ! At night, we could hear the rhinos mowing the grass under our lodge: it sounded delicious :-) and in the morning it was perfectly trimmed ! Finally, not to forget the half-day trip to Tsodilo Hills, a mystical place, that puts the ancient history of Botswana in an amazing perspective ! We hope to come back some time. This lodge was the most pleasant surprise of our entire trip (Namibia & Botswana). Fantastic location (possibly the best sunset I have ever seen), great facilities, great staff, great food. We had an amazing boat drive in the panhandle and a fun walk the next day. I would write these comments if I had paid double the price because this was also the best value for the money. A 10+

We spent two very enjoyable nights here. Xaro got the mix right - relaxed, comfort and price. The lodge is located in the most beautiful peaceful property on the water's edge. The tented rooms set in the trees were abuzz with birds. The rooms are spacious and comfortable and very private with views over the delta. We were spoilt by the attention to detail at meal times but it was not too fussy. The drinks around the fire very special. The service and the staff and the owners were incredible! Xaro, like most other lodges, is still in the process of getting back on its feet after Covid and they are busy putting in improvements that will make the experience even better - the pool for example. There is not a lot of game around and thus if you not a birder you may not get the most out of this lodge
