My wife had booked a Hotel "near where we stayed before" convenient for our trip taking in the Aalsmeer Flower Auction 20 minutes away. What she hadn't realised was that there had been a name change since our visit in 2017 and as we arrived in the area there was a sigh that could be heard for miles around. We needn't had worried. Friendly new owners and all the issues of 2017 were gone. The Hotel/Restaurant is set in the Dutch countryside. A waterside landscape with a beautiful view across the Dyke landscape, makes for a glorious first impression. A drink to unwind after a walk around Gouda following an early start to get a 6.20 Eurotunnel crossing, up to the room, with a view across the lake/dyke/water, chill out and after a freshen up for dinner and some drinks in the restaurant, again with very friendly staff and then some well deserved sleep before an early start to be at Aalsmeer just after 7am. I wish the new owners well and look forward to returning next spring for a visit to Keukenhof, with extra time to explore the wonderful countryside surrounding Zuideinde.
