Seacastles Resort

This is our second trip to Seacastles. We visited last year at the same time. Both times we booked upgraded third-floor suites. Last year we were in room 354. It was beautiful. Keep in mind there were a lot of stairs if you book it, but the room was perfect. The bathroom was completely redone as well as the rest of the suite. This year we booked room 302 because 354 was unavailable. When we checked in at the Norseman they gave us another room, 301 and we were told you cannot be guaranteed a room. I was a little disappointed since the booking did have the other room number listed on it and I had done my homework on what I wanted. That said this suite, 302 was very nice as well. It was quite large with a full kitchen and a separate bedroom. Everything was immaculate and we were allowed to check in two hours early much to my surprise. The view was beautiful with the marginal way entrance directly across the street from our window and the ocean in the not-so-far distance. My only room issues were not big problems. While the bathroom was extremely clean, it was older and could use a little upgrading. Our bedroom had two full beds with yet another gorgeous view. The odd part of this room is that there is an air conditioner in the wall right about above the headboard of one of the beds. I mean only a foot or so above. While we didn't need AC I would imagine if you are staying in the summer you might very well need it, and it would be very loud directly above your head. Other than that everything was perfect. This place is located perfectly within walking distance of everything the town has to offer, including the beach and Perkins Cove. Will will definitely be back again.

We stayed at Seacastles primarily because it has an indoor pool. We were there during off season and I think we were the only ones in the building. There was no staff at the hotel and at first we couldn't figure out which building our room was in. We had to call the Norseman hotel for any info. When we finally found our room, it was FREEZING so we had to crank up the thermostat and leave for an hour. There was no overnight staff in the building, either, which was creepy. Each time we called the "help" line for information, no one answered. There were no directions in the room for anything, including check-out time. But...there was a sign that said if we left any dirty dishes we would be charged an extra $25. Oh yes, there was a dirty sock left on the bedroom carpet. Ugh!! Stairs were filthy and the walls were really banged up. Think management needs to do some painting, both inside and out. The bathroom was nice. Oh well, probably our fault for booking in the dead of winter. Definitely not a good value.

A swimming pool and jacuzzi right in front of my room during winter and a hop away from the beach and a few great restaurants a stone’s throw away! Not a human being in sight.

People little spot close to town and right across the street from the Marginal Way access. Within walking distance to the beach, downtown shops, and restaurants. The grounds at the resort were beautiful and so well maintained. The rooms were perfect for a little costal town, spacious, and open. Very clean, very quiet. Pool and jacuzzi were great. Will definitely be staying here again.

Great location across from Marginal Way and walking distance to everything. Clean renovated room with full kitchen and outdoor space, but quirky entrance near housekeeping. Bathroom towel rack fell off the wall, maintenance promptly fixed. Indoor pool, outdoor hot tub. Beware of ticks in the deck area.

Overall great location for the price. Very dated property. The room was clean, but the hot water in the shower was luke warm at best. They did not provide daily service. Again for the price and location it wasn't bad.

Booking last minute, I was able to secure their basic room for a good price. Room was clean and spacious with a separate living area from the bedroom. There is a small fridge, cooktop stove, micro and coffee pot with place setting dishes for four. The furniture is dated but in good condition. The resort is in a great location, close to downtown Ogunquit and numerous restaurants within walking distance. It is directly across the street from the entrance to Marginal Way. It is a little bit of a hike to the beach but doable. There is some seating out on the lawn area. Parking on site. There were no views from the room. They were nice enough to let in early because the room was ready. It was a good, basic clean room. The higher ratings are probably for the higher price rooms with balconies and views.

We spent 3 nights in the king suite at Seacastles. We had a large window overlooking Shore Road with great views. We also had a private deck. It is very spacious with a living room area that includes a partial kitchen, big screen t.v., and all the comforts of home. Everyone was very accommodating and friendly. We will definitely go back.
