GGuest UserThis is a lovely hotel! It's classy and elegant, and overall it'll make your vacation that much more special. The location is great, as you can walk to restaurants or other places in Luray. The Luray Caverns are a quick drive away, as is a Walmart and Food Lion, and Skyline Drive's Thornton Gap Entrance is close by. I ate at the Circa '31 restaurant for breakfast, which was reasonably priced (the menu is small with a few standard breakfast options). Free coffee and muffins in the lobby at all times. The Speakeasy restaurant is very good, and has various specials/deals each night. The bedrooms are small, but comfortable. The grounds are beautiful, with an area for bonfires and hammocks, as well as a pool and hot tub area. The staff is very kind and accommodating.
A few recommendations for the management:
~Put mini fridges in the rooms
~Put chairs on the balcony so people can use it as a sitting area
~Something to provide more counter space in the bathrooms
I recommend the Mimslyn Inn to anyone staying in the Luray area!
GGuest UserSkyland is in a beautiful location and right in the heart of Shenandoah. The food was good quality and the service in the restaurant was great. We enjoyed the entertainment on one of the nights we were there. The first room we had had a leaky roof from the torrential rain but we were immediately moved to a new room and upgraded. The upgraded room had a few more amenities and was much closer to the lodge. The staff was very pleasant and accommodating . The rooms could do with some updating and the beds really need replaced. It was like sleeping on a camp bed.
