It is not a 5-star hotel at all, the food is lousy, the pool is for children, the service is zero empathy the good thing about it is the location

We have just returned from our holiday in Greece staying at the Elinotel, from the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome. Anna on reception is brilliant any little hiccups we had she sorted quickly. I am gluten intolerant but had no problem as soon as we went into the restaurant a member of staff would get the chef and he would happily explain what was in the dishes,he went as far as asking if I would like jelly for dessert in the evening as most of the desserts contained gluten. We never had any issues with being served in the bar,the sparkling wine was as good as any I have had at home. Everyone was friendly and helpful, there were always plenty of sunbeds and you could change the beach towels daily and there was no charge for this. The hotel was in a great position as you walked straight out thr rear of the hotel onto the beach which is pebbly and swim shoes are a really good idea. Location wise it's about 10-15 minutes to the village, there are a good variety of shops, bars etc and prices are reasonable In a previous review someone said that the furniture and shower in room 323 was worse for wear,I'm not sure what the were on about as we were in 323 and it certainly wasn't as they described. The last two nights of our stay there was just us and one other Couple staying,so we were invited to the staff endow season party and were made to feel really welcome. When we left on the Wednesday we were then the only guests but everyone went out of their way to make sure we didn't feel in the way and all came to say goodbye as we left. We would definitely stay here again.

We have just returned from our trip to Greece where we spent a week at Hotel Apolamare. Our stay at the hotel was highly satisfying. The location is excellent, situated near a beautiful beach with numerous sunbeds, crystal-clear water in the sea, and entertaining events almost every night. The food was good, offering a variety and quality that met our expectations. Special commendation for the baklava :-). Opting for the all-inclusive package, we enjoyed a wide range of cocktails at the beach bar (A big thank you to Mary – you are the best :-)). We would like to express our appreciation for the great service provided by Restaurant Manager Triantafilos and Front Office Manager, Anna, who did everything they could to make our visit extra enjoyable. Thank you for a fantastic time at Apolamare.

Overall, this hotel does not meet 5* expectations and TUI are mis-selling this hotel considerably compared with their other 5* offerings. The buffet meals were poor quality. Hot food was often cold, there was poor service and we were charged for drinks. The staff were unhelpful. The shower head was not secure and there was a rusty towel rack and metal fittings on the bath, which leaked whenever you had a shower. There was no kettle and coffee making facilities. We went off-season to avoid families yet there was a huge number of families with infants, most of which seemed to be non-English and heavy smokers. The seafront was tiny and pool permanently in the shade. We booked a car to get away to nicer resorts and spent more than planned on food as we could only eat at the hotel once. Definitely one to avoid!

The location of the hotel is great, as you walk out of th rear of the hotel straight onto the shingle beach. There were plenty of sunbeds available still at noon and should they all be used/reserved, then there were plentry stacked up on the sides, so you could grab one and plop it on the beach somehere. You could etiher pop up to the pool bar to get drinks or there were staff wondering through the beds and you could order them straight to your bed. The sea was crystal clear, but beach/sea shoes are advised due to the pebbles/rocks underfoot. There was a watersports hut next door on the beach, where you could hire boats, paddleboards, donots, jet ski's etc. We cannot comment on the pool as we did ot use it, as looked a tad shady for us and we would prefer the sea. The hotel is a 10 min walk (slightly longer for us as I walk very slow) to the village. We were expecting a small village judging previous reviews, but IMO it was a small town rather than village. It had plenty of shops, places to eat and drink and really came alive after 6pm. The staff at the hotel are amazing and so hard working and go out of their way to to help. The pool/beach towel hire service was great and saved on additional luggage. Just a 10 euro deposit per towel and returned upon leaving. YOu could change the towels as often as you liked. The grounds of the hotel were lovely as was the Reception area. Ok, now the not so good bits.......... It is NOT 5 star! We wanted location (which we got) and luxury (which we did not get). I have stayed in Greece before and it was on par with a 3 star hotel, definately not a 4 or above. The reasons I state this is that the hotel website boasts it has a spa, nightclub and is ultra all inclusive. Neither of these is correct. There is no spa or nightclub and definately not ultra all inclusive. The mini bar in room was only filled with alcohlic drinks one (which I had to ask twice for on arrival), the snacks were only cake/bread, not good if you are gluten and sugar intolerant like myself, there was no frut on offer as snacks, only at main meal times and the hotel make it clear that you are NOT allowed to remove ANY food from the restaurant. The food in general was mediocre, with al the protien ( plain meat and fish well over cooked and dry) and of 3 star quality and rather repetative. We made it our decision to eat out towards the end of the week. The boiled eggs at breakfast were a lifesaver though. Tui state it has a bar and cafe, but the only one availabe is the pool bar. They also state they have bicycle hire, which they do not. There is no TV lounge either as stated. In additin to this, the rooms (we had 323) were tired, with furniture scratched/worn. The fixed shower head was full of limescale/rust. I don;t even want to think about the bedspread, as these clearly weren't changed/laundered inbetween guest stays. Based on our stay, if we had paid for 3 star, we would have been pleased as that is what it is. To pay what we paid

No welcome drink on arrival. Staff very friendly and hard working. I witnessed resultant manager rude and offensive to waiting staff. Food reasonable. Very poor labelling to food. Sweets same every day. Drinks had to pay extra for diet options. Only sugary drinks available. Limited cocktails, the ones we had enjoyable. No daily evening entertainment. Greek night fabulous. No UK channels payment required. Beach small pebbles beach shoes advised. Sea amazing beautiful plenty of fish, clean and clear. Fellow guests untidy, staff unable to keep on top of the mess. Several unhappy pre-school children. Unsettled on the beach. Ran screaming in the restaurant. Not the staffs fault. Close to town restaurants and shops. Organised transfers.

I don’t normally write reviews and usually skip past most of the bad reviews as people have there own opinions but most issues people have wrote are accurate. Unfortunately the star rating and description on all holiday websites are very misleading and a little unfair when you spend a lot of money expecting a 5*. Hotel was very clean and rooms lovely (advise to upgrade to sea view family room though) everything else let it down. Food and drinks very standard of no more than a 3* . Food same every day and drinks very limited on ultra all inclusive. No diet option so have to pay 3€. Pool very small and shaded with limited sun beds although on the beach so not too much of a problem. We have children but went as a couple and lots of pre school children so some may want to avoid if going as a couple. On a plus it’s on the beach as we wanted. Crystal clear water but very pebbly. Most staff lovely, especially Alex and Mary at the bar. Lovey little town 5 minutes walk with lots of shops, bars and restaurants. More for eating than just drinking. We did really enjoy it and it could be perfect with a few alterations to detail and would have gave it more on review but think it should be more 3 half than four. No fault of the hotel but if you don’t like long transfer it took 2 hours on coach and If prefer taxi it’s around €150 each way.

We’ve just come back from the Apolamare and we had a lovely time! Upon arrival Anna at reception was lovely and made sure that we got some lunch before it ended which we very much appreciated having travelled all night! We had a ground floor room which was spacious and comfortable and with a nice balcony with a side sea view. The walk in shower was lovely too. The hotel public spaces were clean and there is a beautiful central walk through water feature and garden which looks beautiful at night when all lit up. The food was decent too. A good range and there was something to choose each time… unless you are a very fussy eater, you’ll be fine! We were there 10 days and the only one thing is that the food did feel a little repetitive towards the end, but that’s to be expected from an all inclusive buffet and the food was nice. The hotel pool was also fine and a perfectly decent size for the number of guests the hotel can take. The private beach was amazing too! It was wonderful just to be able to step out of the pool and then walk into the sea! There is also a water sports hut close by so if you want to hire a pédalo, a boat or go on a water ride, you can. These were also done with care so as not to disturb swimmers or add lots of noise at the beach. There was a good range of drinks available on the all inclusive package too and we were perfectly happy with what we were able to have. Sometimes we were full from breakfast so didn’t want lunch, but the beach bar served sandwiches and cake in the afternoons so if you missed lunch and got peckish it was fine. We hired a car while we were there and again Anna at reception was very kind in helping us to hire a car, giving us a map and telling us about places of interest to see and helping us to order packed lunches to take out with us so that we didn’t miss our all inclusive meals. There was some evening entertainment…while we were there we saw the Greek night (twice) and there was a singer one night too. There wasn’t entertainment every night, but that didn’t bother us at all, we were just happy sitting outside with a drink chatting and playing cards and appreciated the good entertainment that we did see. Nothing worse than having to sit through awful “entertainment” just for the sake of it being there. Another thing we really liked about this place was the mix of nationalities. It wasn’t a “Brits abroad” experience thankfully! There were several British families there, but also many others…Serbian, Italian, Spanish, German and Greek…even an American family! We felt that the staff worked hard to make people feel comfortable and provide a good service. The only one thing is that while they were all polite, and the majority also friendly and smiley, there were one or two who could learn to smile more, but that’s a small thing. The only other development point for us would be the in room cleaning service. While the rooms could be serviced every day, the cleaners often knocked on our door quite e
