This hotel is great for exploring all of Paris. Located slightly out of the main touristy area meant that there were some fab local restaurants and shops around that catered for locals which meant value for money. The hotel has a new name and a new internal decor which is quirky and full of character. The staff, I think the owners, were really welcoming and helpful. Room was very clean, breakfast perfect for a day exploring and right next to the Crimee Metro stop and a fantastic boulangerie. We were on the 6th floor so thankfully there was a lift available. Would definitely recommend staying here.

All what you need for a stay is there! Clean, comfortable, close to la Villette where I had my conference, people are very nice and also the restaurant is excellent! The breakfast is rich and I recommend

The hotel is small but welcoming, The bedrooms are ok, comfortable and have that homelike feeling. Breakfast was good. Not a large selection, but everything was fresh. The bread was delicious, while the coffee was strong enough to wake me up.

I already knew this area despite it being off the beaten track. The neighbourhood can feel a bit sketchy but as with anywhere, just keep your wits about you. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Hotel Trema. Friendly staff and it's less than 1 minute to the Metro (quick & easy to Gare de Nord via lines 7 and 5). Great local amenities and restaurants. A 5 minute walk from cool canal bars. The walk along the canal is also great for discovering fab spots all the way down to Republique. I had a single room (#14) the keyhole of which is in a tricky position (see photos) but don't be put off because once inside it wasn't as small as you may think (the bed & the room). Also, Room 14 was high enough up that the main road didn't bother me at all. Very small bathroom & some people may struggle to get in and out of the shower - smaller than a telephone box :-) Same with the lift. I took it upstairs and walked down. I didn't have food / drink at the hotel but the dining / bar area looked nice.

part of the reason why I had a wonderful Paris trip is because I stayed here. At the end of the day you want to rest at a decent place and Hotel Trema is where you should stay. I am greeted and attended to by a team of young professionals who are friendly and is there for your every needs. Now when we compare the rooms, we have to note that this is Paris, buildings are old (they were made to be kept old) not all buildings have lift. So if you want a spacious room and bath with soundproofing then please book a room at a 5 star hotel. Now let's set our expectations according to our budget. For a 3 star hotel, this is a very good deal, the rooms seems to have been refurbished, they have a lift, yeah the lift is small, but this is Europe, have you been to Italy? Paris has bigger lifts considering. The room I had is spacious and the toilet is good as well. and what's important is you have hot water for bath. The place is 30minutes away from the touristy destinations and main places, hence the peace. the metro station (line 7) is few steps away. Line 7 connects you directly to Louvre, Palais Garnier, and other famous places, do your research gosh. What is nearby, you have Monoprix and Aldi, you have variety of restaurants (Vietnamese, Chinese, Arabic, an artisan bakeshop, and others) you have salons nearby, Laundry options are near, and, a PCR testing laboratory. I have to commend the team working for this property, all of them are professional and made sure that my needs are taken care of. When you are in Paris, stay here.

Small, strangely shaped room close to a noisy junction. Sirens, horns and loud motorbikes throughout Saturday night (following nights were better, and earplugs help) made sleep difficult. Fully closing windows reduces the noise but make the room stuffy and unpleasant. The bed was OK, although the pillows not very good. The room was clean (although there was sometimes a slight sewage smell in the tiny bathroom). The wi-fi was decent, it's convenient for the Metro, and the staff were nice. But a good night's sleep is the most important thing and we didn't always get that. Reasonably priced hotels are hard to find in Paris - but next time we'll look elsewhere.

Fantastic location- just round the corner from the metro. Award winning bakery on the corner of the street- amazing but pricey. We booked a superior room and got room 18 which is on the top floor. For Paris, this room was huge and great value for money! The staff were incredibly polite and helpful- very important to me. Spoke great English and always happy to see you. The area around the hotel isn’t great, but this is very similar in most suburbs of Paris- You will be jumping on the metro everyday and heading off somewhere else. Would highly recommend staying here if your on a budget. It’s great value for money.
