I had a change of plans and needed to change my rooms. They were incredibly helpful. Unfortunately, the room I was moved to looked like it hasn't been touched in weeks/months. The bed had no sheets, stains, cut up straws everywhere, TV was on the bed, empty air-rifle box.. trashed room for sure. I went to the desk for help, and they immediately moved me to a new room. Much, much better... but knowing what that one room looked like, left me feeling a bit weirded out for the rest of the hotel. I was under the impression that there was a breakfast, but it was not available. Not a big issue for me tbh. This is definitely a ”Get you what you pay for” situation. If I had to stay here again.. I would, if there were no other options.

Walking distance to everything downtown. Beautiful rooms, great ambiance in the hotel dining room and bar. We didn’t eat so I can’t rate the food, although others looked like they were enjoying it! We will come again!

Pet owners and those with small children beware! First off, this location smells horribly of ********* despite being smoke free. The smell was almost unbearable on the 4th floor. I stayed at this location 6/30-7/4 because they labeled themselves as a pet friendly establishment. On my first morning there, I took my dog to the posted Dog Walking area and discovered that there was rat poison covering the grass, not inside of the packaging or inside the secure rat bait box. Unfortunately my dog ingested (soft bait - looked like playdoh in the ground for those of you with small children) some due to this hotels gross negligence. Why on earth would you put poison in an area designated for dogs?! Animal Poison Control was fantastic in helping me save my dog, hotel management took over 4 hours to contact me. I had to go out myself to find the name of the poison from the scraps of paper discarded to provide to the local Pet ER. My dog now needs to be monitored for signs of seizure and internal bleeding which could take days to weeks due to the anticoagulant used, not to mention, this poison, difethialone, is heavily regulated by the EPA because of how highly toxic it is to children and animals, and MUST be contained inside of a secure rat bait trap. Other than expressing sympathy for the “inconvenience”, this hotel took ZERO responsibility for putting dogs and children at risk. They simply cleaned up the poison and carried on like business as usual. I requested to speak to regional management and have heard absolutely nothing. I will never stay at a Hyatt again, will be seeking legal action and warn you all to be careful with your pets and small children at this location.

I spent one weekend night here. My GPS took me to the stores in front of the hotel. I was in a Williams and Sonoma parking lot so if that happens to you, just know you need to follow the road next to the parking garage to behind the Williams and Sonoma and you'll find the hotel. Not the hotel's fault, I'm just mentioning it in case it happens to you too. The two gentlemen at the front desk for check in were both very nice. I went to my room and found it to be clean and very spacious. It was very dark though and the whole inside of the room and hotel just seems old. The room was pretty hot when I got in there but it was the hottest weekend of the year and I figured had just been hotter because housekeeping turned the temperature up like a lot do after somebody checks out. At check in, I had asked about a restaurant but they said that theirs closed during Covid and never reopened. They did give me a sheet with a bunch of local recommendations for other restaurants. I picked one of those and when I went back to the lobby to go eat, I overheard workers talking about the broken AC. So the reason my room was hot is because the whole hotel's AC had gone out. This just happens, I get it. I'll say that the hotel had somebody out there in just a couple hours to have it fixed and my room was getting cool by the time I was ready to go to bed which was good. Unfortunately, I had to leave at 0745 on Saturday morning and their breakfast doesn't start until 0800 on the weekends. It's earlier on a weekday. I wish this policy would be changed. The price was reasonable and the location was pretty convenient for what I was in town for. I'm not sure I would stay here again though if I ever end up staying in Baltimore again.

I had flown in for a wedding. Of course my luggage didn't make it with me. I had a room at the hotel just for the night of the wedding, but my father had one until the end of the weekend. I had to negotiate with the airline endlessly to arrange for the arrival of my bags, and even though I had already checked out, the lovely manager (whose name I didn't get to my chagrin) graciously allowed the storage of my luggage until Saturday night, as I couldn't collect it on the Sabbath. She was especially accommodating, as was any other staff member I encountered. I recommend places not based on the amenities per se (not that there was anything to complain about in that area) but based on the people running the place. And your hotel was absolutely amazing. Thank you!

True to the reputation of the New York-based design firm, Ash, the Ulysses is nothing short of an architectural marvel. The first thing that catches your eye? The hotel's impeccable aesthetic. It's a masterful blend of old-world charm and modern design, encapsulating the very essence of Baltimore's diverse character. While the rooms might have been a tad on the cozier side, they more than made up for it with their plush comfort and attention to detail. The Ulysses truly exemplifies the notion that beauty lies in the details, and the meticulousness with which they've curated every aspect of the guest experience speaks volumes. The 19th-century charm of the Mount Vernon neighborhood is beautifully echoed within the Ulysses. Booking through Trip.com was a new experience for us. A bit unconventional, sure, but it came through in the clutch. The $35 ”destination fee” threw us for a loop initially, but the $20 credit we received towards our bill at the hotel restaurant (Ash Bar) or the bar (Blooms) made it all worth it. Speaking of Blooms, what an experience! The mirrored ceiling, the crimson banquettes, and the purple stools set the stage for a night to remember. In a nutshell? The Hotel Ulysses is a triumph, an ode to Baltimore's multifaceted spirit. Whether you're here for the history, the design, or the sheer experience, the Ulysses promises and delivers. You know that experience when you notice something wrong with a hotel room and you think, ”Oh, that's no big deal, I can live with it,” so you unpack and get settled? But then you notice another flaw, and another, and another. That's what happened to our family at this hotel. I noticed the chip in the enamel on the bathtub right away, then later the hole in the wall by the towel rack that was never repaired, then the missing bar on the security door lock, and finally the lack of a stopper for the bathtub drain (this time I went down to the front desk to get one, none available, was told to use a washcloth). Are all the rooms like this? Not willing to take a chance, will go to a different hotel the next time we need to stay near BWI.

we loved the experience, first time there and it was peaceful, clean.

The hotel is kind hidden in a dark area (I arrived at night), which made me wonder. Other than that, I had a very nice stay. Everything was comfortable, pillows were very nice. Breakfast is pandemic style: cereals, some bread, etc, things you see everywhere nowadays. The only hot food is make-yourself waffle.
