Palazzo Del Capitano Wellness & Relais - Luxury Borgo Capitano Collection

Just returned from a very special trip with my daughter to Tuscany and Rome. We were very fortunate to have found availability at Palazzo del Capitano in the charming town of San Quirico d'Orcia for our time in the area. Lorenzo was incredibly helpful in planning our stay and offering advice for our experiences. Although the outdoor garden areas were covered for the season, they were still so beautiful to walk through... in the morning fog and in the lights of the evening! ..And the restaurant was so lovely with beautiful breakfasts and truly wonderful dinners. We just loved everything about our stay. Hope to return with my husband on another occasion and make more memories there. Thank you Lorenzo and the entire staff!

A wonderful 2 day stay - Was not familiar with this town but Rita and staff, were incredibly helpful with guidance and restaurant selection- Only small drawback is the church bells ring every hour - thru the night -

The hotel is composed of several buildings in the historical center, which means you can't simply take the lift and walk to the breakfast room. First, there's no lift. Then, you have to walk to the restaurant building to get the breakfast. Depending on the weather or your mood it can be funny or annoying. In theory, cars are not allowed in the historic center, but in fact we had no problem to unload our luggage. Good rooms, but not great. Abundant breakfast, although rather monotonous.

We spent an amazing week at the beautifully restored villa in San Quirico d'Orcia.  Breakfast in the Ristorante Trattoria Toscana Al Vecchio Forno each morning was delicious and the surrounding countryside was breathtaking.  We cycled to and lunched in local towns and dined nightly on excellent meals (twice at the trattoria) all within walking distance of the villa.  The warm and welcoming staff in this widespread hotel made our stay all the more enjoyable and we can’t wait to return to this exceptional slice of Italy.  

We arrived tired and late on a Saturday with most rooms in Tuscany sold out. We were welcomed in such wonderful style. The car was parked and we enjoyed a lovely drink while the room was prepared for us. We did have the presidential suite but I am sure all the rest were beautiful and we booked another night because we loved the place so much. Thank you to all the team and we will be back!

We stayed in a room on the top floor, which had a terrace with a great view of the town and the Val d'Orcia countryside. 🏡The evening and the morning were magical!💫 The room is comfortable and furnished in an old style, very cozy. Both the bedroom and the bathroom are very spacious. They try to work according to sustainable principles, which we very much welcome. 🌱 There is free parking just 3 minutes away. 🚗 The staff was very friendly at reception, and also at breakfast which was excellent. Served in a tavern in the town, in a beautiful setting among the streets. Both 🥐sweet (homemade jams, honey, chocolate spread, pastries) and 🧀 savory breakfasts (local salami, cheese, eggs) are available, and excellent coffee☕ - even with soya milk. The owners are also always available via WhatsApp. You can feel that the place breathes the idea of a dispersed hotel. 🏙️ We were charmed by the location of the accommodation. It's an authentic, peaceful place where you can feel the authentic atmosphere both in the streets and in the square. We would love to come back! 💕

We enjoyed a blissful 4 nights in the Capricano suite. What a stunning room, hotel and village. We could not have been happier. Room We stayed in a presidential suite. It was absolutely stunning with gorgeous antique furniture, a four poster bed and so much space. The suite was around 50m which was such a luxury in Italy. The palazzo is old with original beams. We heard a little noise from upstairs but that is to be expected in such a historic hotel. We loved the original features. Our room was just outside the bar and very close to the pool, so a brilliant place to stay if your using those facilities. We had a peak into Sagittario next door and the room was lovely. Would recommend staying in the main hotel for proximity to the pool and garden bar. Garden and pool The garden is simply beautiful. Two sections have tables and chairs. Others have loungers, giant bean bags and there is a jacuzzi and salt water pool. It is such a relaxing space. The pool was freezing - but welcome in the August heat. Spa I had a wonderful body treatment in the hotel spa. So professional and relaxing. I highly recommend booking a treatment if you have time. The products were high quality and the therapist was so good. Worth booking in advance. Restaurant We had breakfast included - such a beautiful space and a good variety of breakfast. Dinner was exceptional - we ate here twice and every time we had an incredible time. So romantic. Staff The staff at the hotel are so welcoming. Keba - what an exceptional member of staff - always looked after us a the pool and the bar. Lorenzo - brilliant local recommendations and genuinely pleased when we reported we had excellent days out. We honestly felt like we were staying with dear friends. Everyone was so welcoming. We cannot wait to return. Location San Quirico d’Orcia is a gorgeous town with lots of restaurants and wine shops. We did an excellent day of biking around the local villages. Lorenzo recommended a brilliant wine tour at Castello Tricheri - the Brunello is extraordinary. Parking is free at the local car park at the bottom of the hill. The hotel can arrange you to drop bags off and even have a shuttle service. Overall we had such a wonderful stay. I could not recommend the hotel enough. We honestly cannot wait to return and enjoy the exceptional suite again. This is Tuscany at its finest.
