"The breakfast was absolutely fantastic! Of course, everyone's taste differs. The room facilities were great, the bed was very comfortable, and the soundproofing was excellent. I opted for an inner view room to save money, so I couldn't see the pool or the sea, but for just one night, I didn't expect much more. The hotel is very close to all the city's attractions, within walking distance. The front desk and lobby staff were incredibly attentive and welcoming. There's a 7-Eleven downstairs, and a FamilyMart in the mall next door, which is super convenient. There's also an H.M. downstairs with some good discounts, but I didn't have time to shop as I had a train to catch – a fortunate save! I arrived here by 707 bus from Singapore, and The Pines Hotel is always one of the stops, making the journey very smooth. All in all, this hotel is highly recommended. I don't usually take photos of hotel rooms, so I've included some pictures of nearby attractions, all within about a ten-minute walk."

"The room is clean but there is something need to improve 1. Door need to use key to open but the key hole is under the smart lock , very hard to unlock it. 2. Only 4 lift , waiting time is long Receiption indian girl is efficient and friendly !"

"Booked a room with 2 king beds for a 2 night stay w my family. Pros : 1. Spacious room size 2. Comfy beds 3. Beautiful view (we could see the entire city and our window was facing towards sea) 4. Free Parking 5. 10-15 mins walking distance to the River Cruise 6. No problems with lifts. Just some additional notes for travellers : (If) you don’t want room service to clean your rooms bc you don’t mind reusing your towels, you will not be able to receive the complimentary water bottles. For families with cars, (if) you need to travel back and forth between the hotel and outside, you will always need to stop by the lobby counter to validate your carpark ticket in order to get free parking and it’s only valid for 15 minutes (more than enough time)."

"We stayed at Swiss-Garden Hotel Melaka during our recent family trip and had a generally pleasant stay. We travelled as a family of four, and the room size was comfortable enough for all of us. The layout was practical and there was sufficient space for luggage and movement. The room itself was clean and reasonably well kept, although the hotel does show some signs of aging, particularly in certain fixtures and furnishings. The location is fairly convenient, with easy access to parts of the city and not too far from the main attractions. It worked well for our short family visit around Melaka. One area that could use improvement is the gym, which unfortunately did not appear to be well maintained during our stay. Some of the equipment seemed worn and the overall condition could be better. Overall, the stay was comfortable and decent for families, especially if you are looking for a reasonably spacious room at a fair price. With some refurbishment and better maintenance of facilities, the hotel could definitely enhance the guest experience further."

"We like it a lot. The room is clean and filled with stuff we didn’t know we needed. E.g. three types of wine glasses The water pressure is large. Had the best bathe ever. The room is spacious with a partial sea view. Waking up from the room feels like a dream."

"Overall, my stay was quite disappointing due to multiple issues with the facilities and management, although there are a few positive aspects worth mentioning. 1. The toilet flushing system is very weak and unable to properly flush waste. There is also no exhaust fan, causing unpleasant odors to linger after use. 2. The shower area lacks proper shelving for toiletries, which is inconvenient, especially for female guests. Although the space is not small, the towel rack is installed above the toilet, which is both unhygienic and impractical. 3. The unit is advertised as a two-bedroom space that can accommodate up to five people, which reasonably creates the expectation of having two bathrooms. However, the upstairs bathroom is locked and used as a storage room. This becomes highly inconvenient, as guests have to wait excessively long to use a single bathroom. 4. The doorbell issue that was reported earlier was never resolved. 5. The air conditioner remote control was initially not working, but a replacement was only provided later at night. 6. Only two out of four elevators were functioning. During checkout time, it became extremely difficult to get an elevator. Once inside, it stopped at almost every floor due to high demand. It took my family and me nearly an hour just to get from the 22nd floor to the car park. There was also no proper ventilation or air conditioning inside the elevator, which made the situation very uncomfortable and almost suffocating. 7. There is only a mirror in the bathroom, which makes it very inconvenient for guests (especially women) to get ready or do makeup. On a positive note, the overall room cleanliness was acceptable, although the towels could be improved. The interior design is visually appealing at first glance. However, the layout is not practical. Watching TV from the sofa is uncomfortable as it is positioned at an awkward angle. To face the TV directly, everyone has to sit in a row on the stairs, which is quite inconvenient. Overall, while the design may initially attract guests, the functionality and basic comfort fall short of expectations."

"The hotel is in a great location, within walking distance of many attractions. The room was very spacious and clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet had a good and wide selection, with something for everyone's taste."

"This accommodation has a prime location right by the Malacca River. The riverside atmosphere at night is absolutely amazing! There's also a fantastic seafood restaurant nearby, Loo Yen Garden Seafood Restaurant, which is delicious and reasonably priced. I'll definitely stay here again next time I visit."

"The check-in process necessitates roadside parking prior to accessing the designated car park, which can lead to traffic congestion. The hotel's car park, located on levels 7 and 8, involves a rather arduous ascent. The premises comprise four blocks; two are residential, and two are hotel accommodations managed by separate entities. The room itself is spacious, featuring two beds, and is maintained to a clean and tidy standard. While there are four lifts, their operation is slow, and a transfer is required to reach the car park. Breakfast, a makeshift buffet of local, low-quality food, was provided; however, during my three-day stay, I opted for it only once as it was largely unexceptional."

"This hotel just opened two months ago, right by the sea near Portuguese Settlement. I didn't have high expectations initially, but I was so pleasantly surprised! The hotel is backed by the ocean, and there's a clean, beautiful pool right in the courtyard. The breakfast was rich and clean – especially the bread, which clearly wasn't pre-made, and the fruit was super fresh. It felt much more genuine than some of the five-star hotels in downtown Kuala Lumpur! Even at 9 or 10 PM, you could still order food from the hotel restaurant, and the quality here was genuinely high compared to outside options. This morning, the hotel even had a lion dance performance, which added to the festive atmosphere. The hotel manager really pays attention to service details, which is absolutely essential for a great hotel. Having a fresh, high-quality breakfast in the morning is a wonderful start to the day, and you can even swim in the pool after coming back at night. A Grab taxi to Jonker Street is only about 8-10 RM away. It's very quiet at night, with a gentle sea breeze and the pool. It reminded us of beautiful places we'd traveled to before and even brought back memories of my partner's hometown. Because of this, we spontaneously decided to extend our stay for two more nights. Highly recommend everyone to stay here! (The only minor thing to note is that the air conditioning in the rooms can be a bit noisy. Hopefully, they can improve this. It gets quite warm at night, so you need the AC, and it would be great if it didn't blow directly on you.) 1) The room cleanliness and linens were excellent; the towels were tumble-dried, and the sheets were neatly ironed. 2) The staff were warm and friendly. 3) The environment was outstanding, quiet, and beautiful. 4) The breakfast was exquisite and clean. The chicken sausage was the only one with a normal texture among the seven or eight hotels we've stayed at in Malaysia. The à la carte restaurant didn't disappoint either; you could tell the watermelon juice was fresh (many places serve overnight juice). Thank you to the hotel for their dedication, which made our vacation wonderful. If we ever return to Malacca, The Lisbon Malacca will definitely be our top choice."
