We ate here twice during our stay nearby and the food was lovely both times. A fairly small menu but that's as it should be when it's all cooked well. Great friendly service too. Sadly we were too full to try any desserts! We will definitely be back

We very much enjoyed our stay at the Inn. It's a very quiet place in a very quiet setting...just what we were looking for. The food in the restaurant was top-notch. The only reason for my four star rating instead of a 5 star rating was that the hotel was a bit on the pricey side. Still, I would stay there again if visiting Roybridge.

Booked in last minute as I was in the area for hillwalking. Typical Scottish highland hotel I guess but everything I needed. Room was spacious, very clean and comfortable bed. I was in room 103 and although the hotel was by no means empty, the room was very quiet and I got a good nights sleep. Went to the bar and there seemed to be a bit of rush with only one person (I think) serving so there was a little wait but perfectly acceptable. Food that I had was very good (just soup as I was in late) but nice and hot and filling. Maybe not the most modern hotel but it had character and the service I had from the staff was very good. Very nice stay and will definitely consider this hotel next time I am in the area. Well worth the money I paid.

Went in past after hillwalking, bar man unfriendly, sharp and never a smile. Asked if there was a table at night “ No, not taking anymore bookings, just turn up” Staying at caravan site across road so gave place a 2nd chance. Got a small table outside the toilets! Only person that smiled throughout the whole evening was a young waitress. Two male waiters rude, unfriendly, worst we’ve ever seen. Absolutely no manners for the paying public. Service was diar, not sure how long we would have waited, landed going to bar for drinks and place food order. A positive was the food, Nice setting and views

The hotel was clean, comfortable, quiet, and, importantly, easy to find. The breakfast was superb!

Food was good/average, for the price I did expect more. We did enjoy our evening, but the worst table service I've ever experienced, at one point it felt like a practical joke and we were in a little Brittan sketch. It was a contrast to the very friendly barman who we spoke with the most, as the waiter didnt once ask, or give us a chance to ask for drinks. Good selection of beer on draft, poor selection of cheap supermarket wine sold at a high price. Overall, wouldn't reccomend the resturant unless you was popping to the bar for a pint.

We visited for an evening meal as we were touring in motorhome. The restaurant was busy, all tables full. Service was just as it should be, welcoming, polite and discreet. The food was wonderful, the whitebait was fresh and beautifully presented with a small but delightful salad. Next came the steak and ale casserole with a puff pastry lid. The bowl was packed with tender chunks of steak, accompanied by perfect veg, not overcooked and very tasty. We even managed to squeeze in a pudding of ice cream! Highly recommended!!

My wife and I called in for coffee in the morning. Unfortunately, both our drinks were luke warm. We complained and did get them begrudgingly replaced, but not without being advised they were served at 80 degrees C. The temperature was more like half that. We thought that we would give them a second chance, and arrived for a couple of drinks in the afternoon. One of the staff was sitting at the reception desk, apparently printing off the menus for the evening. He acknowledged me, and I waited at the bar around the corner to be served. After a minute, I pressed the bell to be served. After another 2 minutes, just as I was about to leave, the same member of staff that had acknowledged me before eventually arrived, having completed printing out the menus, and then placed them on the clipboard . We did get our drinks, but the staff attitude is very poor, to put it mildly.

On check in the manager appeared to be a bit surly but we had dragged him away from his position behind the bar - we arrived about 8.00pm. We went straight down to dinner, restaurant perhaps not ultra-modern but given the location of the hotel in the mountains it had a lovely, warm, cosy feel. Well stocked bar, lots of people in restaurant (there's a campsite across the road and another rather unattractive hotel further down in the village). Food was excellent (both nights), after climbing waterfalls and such it was like coming back home! Comfortable , spacious room, modern bathroom, extremely clean. Breakfast was good but smoked haddock portion too small (hence 4/5) . Gabriel and Oana were great hosts and we hope to return in 2024
