Hotels near ETG in Rumlang

We stayed for one night before our flight out of Zurich. It's located about 10-15 min walk from the Rümlang train station. There are not a lot of food options nearby. We only saw Mc Donald's and Subway. The on-site restaurant was good, but the menu was limited. We stayed in a family room, which was basically two connecting rooms, one with a double bed and one with two twin beds. The rooms were modern and had great showers, great blackout blinds/curtains, very comfortable beds, and supportive pillows. They offer scheduled shuttle to the airport for 6 CHF per person, but it was cheaper and more convenient for us to call an Uber.

Are you a business traveller seeking a comfortable place to stay with good service at a reasonable price? Then B&B Hotel Rumlang is hard to beat. I stay here regularly and I find the value, the quality of the rooms, facilities and services very good for the price per night. I know that when I arrive here, a comfortable bed, a clean room with simple offerings, and a good nights rest is what is waiting for me. It isn't the Hilton, but that's not what I am expecting - easy access to work, quiet nights rest in a cosy atmosphere at an affordable price, is. I had to stay in Zurich for one night because the time of my arrival was too late to take a train home. The hotel is perfectly located (2.5 Km away from the airport) and you can easily get to it by train or bus or taxi. The room was really comfortable and clean. It had a safe, a TV, a fridge with water and a cozy bed, plus wardrobe. Breakfast was very nice, too. Staff was professional, kind and helpful.

Chosen this hotel as it is near to the airport and they have just resumed the airport shuttle service which is a plus point. However, when I arrive the hotel in the morning after a long 13 hours flight from Singapore, the room was not ready which is kind of understandable. After a long wait until 2pm, my room was not ready yet, and only at 3.30pm I got my room key. To my horror, the room was filthy. It was not cleaned, soiled cups everywhere and the trash bin was not cleared, and chocolate crumbs on my bed. It was disgusting. Immediately I went down to the reception to ask for another room, and instead of higher floor, I was assigned a ground floor. The front desk (I believed she is the supervisor), she was very rude. It is a shame to the Swiss Hospitality. Avoid this hotel at all cost.

The location is very good as it is near Zurich airport. Good for late night travelers However, self-check-in may be difficult for older people.

We stayed there for the first time. It was pretty easy to get there from airport terminal. Staff were wonderful and extremely friendly. Breakfast was really great with a lot of choices. If I want to recommend anything, I would say that I hope that they keep the restaurant open until midnight for late arrival.

I must say I am very satisfied with this accommodation. There’s a free shuttle van to the hotel upon arrival (just exit Arrival Door 2 and turn left, find a digital board and see the timing of each shuttle). Check-in was smooth and front desk staff was accommodating. The room has all the basic necessities except for a fridge (which is not a problem for me). The location is not far from the airport and near (around 10 minutes leisure walk) to Rumlang Train Station to connect to Zurich HB.

I stayed at this hotel for one night for an early departure. It is located in a neat township of Glattbrugg within a seven-minute bus ride from the Zurich airport. Buses circulate every 6 or 7 minutes. My modest investment of € 80 has paid off in spades. The room was big and uncluttered with a super-comfortable bed and a HUGE TV screen with free movies for all tastes. There was a tiny fridge too with free Coke, beer and orange juice. Spacious wardrobe, large work surface and a big bathroom, with this particular shine that comes from highly professional cleaning. Its only downside from my point of view was a smallish bath in the place of a largish shower cubicle that would have been my preference. There is also a gym, a wellness centre and several eateries including a spareribs place but I had no time for exploring those. Within a short walking distance there are several take-aways and a supermarket. I found the price to be quite reasonable for an airport hotel and even affordable. My only doubt was an insecure internet connection that my browser categorically blocked as it posed a threat to the security of my personal data. Chrome had no such qualms though. All in all, to be highly recommended.

I stayed in a pod after arriving back on a late flight, instead of driving home at midnight. The pod was nice, very comfortable. The temperature was marginally too warm for me however, and you can't change the settings. That's where the positive experience ended. My phone charging port didn't work - that's fine - I can overlook that, but it's not ideal I was woken at 4.30am by people getting up and ready for the early morning flights. They were crashing and banging around with the doors and fiddling around with their luggage. Ultimately I couldn't get back to sleep because of the continued crashing and banging and ultimately only got 3.45 hrs sleep (I know this because my fitness tracker tells me so). So it was completely pointless staying - I would have got a better night's sleep at home with my 3 year old and 10 month old in the room next door. I believe the hotel's model doesn't work for the following reasons: 1) Each pod has a door with a very noisy latch. The latch doesn't have to be noisy if people are considerate, but a lot of people aren't considerate at the best of times, let alone at 4am in the morning when getting up for an early flight. It's all well and good to have lots of signs saying ”shh!” On the walls, but most people don't see it, or at least it doesn't sink in. I stayed in a capsule hotel on Japan that has roller blinds instead of doors, which are much quieter 2) people are allowed to bring their luggage into the sleeping space. This invites people to fiddle around with their luggage, which disturbs others from their sleep. Again, in the pod hotel in Japan, people must lock their luggage in lockers in the changing rooms, and are not allowed to take anything into the sleeping space - it works much better 3) the hotel has plenty of separate rooms, with a number of pods in each. Why not allocate guests to rooms by their time of arrival and departure, so that late arrivers don't disturb early departures, and vice versa? Overall, if the above 3 things are fixed, I'd probably stay again, but otherwise, definitely not

Apart-Hotel by Hilton is a hotel run and supervised by the Hilton Group. The stay here for you might not earn you Hilton Honors point but trust me you do not pay too much to book the hotel and still enjoy a wonderful stay. The parent Hilton Hotel is just 2 mins walk from Apart-Hotel. The same airport shuttle picks you up from the airport and first drops you at the Apart-Hotel and then the Hilton flagship hotel. The fact that your airport pick-up and drop (at scheduled hours) are free adds up to the benefit of staying here. The property might not have a full-fledged kitchen but it serves hot breakfast every morning. If you chose to dine you are guided to the nearby Hilton Flagship hotel which is an amazing place to be. Overall, my stay here was amazing- no regrets or complaints whatsoever.
