Gem in Nozawa. One of the best ryokan in Nozawa. Professional top quality staff. Breakfast and dinner (optional) are served on the second and third floor. English speaking staff available. A showcase of Japanese hospitality.  We had the kaiseki dinner and shabu shabu dinner at the ryokan which was excellent.  Within the ryokan, there are single sex indoor and outdoor onsen (with sauna facility) and also a private onsen for reservation. The ryokan is in the middle of Nozawa village, with a short main street of shops and many free public onsens. There are a few hot steam buns stores and also multiple craft beer joints.  From the ryokan, walk 3-5 minutes up a steep hill to reach the moving walkway up the ski hill. Very convenient.  From Nozowa village bus station, there is a free shuttle bus which can bring you to five different ski resorts around town.  Ryokan Sakaya is highly recommended and early reservations are necessary

The level of the staff is broken and there is no sense of unity as a hotel. One of the young female staff at the restaurant was very rude. After the dishes were arranged, the wife dropped her voice so that she could not hear them around her, and asked for a replacement of a dish on the table. After the staff lowered the dish, what happened? I asked my wife, and she said that she had a hair, so she had to change it. I was surprised at the attitude. There was no apology when I brought another (think). After that, the young female staff who took charge of the waiter was friendly and worked rustling and was a good impression. It was a terrible feeling. The hotel is located on the slope from the center of the hot spring town, but it is not so far away, close to the hot water and the hand washing hot water of the bear. We also have a sauna. The lobby sells various souvenirs and you can also buy sake. Meals are prepared on the second floor and are all Japanese in the evening and morning. Buffet is not provided. If you visit on a snowy day in winter, you can enjoy the hot springs in the open-air bath.

There is a 24-hour convenience store near the station, and the location is great. However, be careful as the parking lot is small. The lobby is small and there is a chair fight. I checked in from 14:00 (it is possible if I pay an additional fee), but it was still a little crowded and there was a chair fight. Check-in was given priority, so the check-in time was about 5 minutes. If you don't like the small rooms, you shouldn't come. (The Japanese suite is relatively large because it has two bedrooms) The view is not good. There is air conditioner, but it is fixed to 24 ℃ in winter and is hot. The food was delicious and there were so many, but it was good (however, the breakfast the next day I ate soba at night was hell) However, from 15:00, it is difficult to make a reservation for meals from 17:30. Because it is difficult, Check in from 14:00 will be easier to take. The hot spring was the best. There are three private baths, but the place called ”Iwanoyu” is crowded, and depending on luck on the day you check in (relatively vacant during dinner) ”Iwanoyu” is vacant early in the morning of the next day (around 4:00 to 6:00). In addition, there are ice candy (free) (evening and night) and Yakult (free) (early morning to morning) at the bathing area, and you can eat ”night soba” for free from 23:00. The service was substantial. The room had a coffee mill and coffee beans and I was able to enjoy authentic coffee. The customer service was also good. It happened to be good, but the people in the lobby and the people in the restaurant were good with a clear voice. (There seems to be no other customer service)

There is National Highway 17 nearby, but it is in a residential area, so it was not noisy and slow. It's easy to get to the bus stop in front of the station, so I think it's a very good place if you come by ski snowboarding. It's small, but there is a large communal bath that can accommodate about ３〜４ people. It is said that you can lock it from inside and use it. So it was very comfortable to enter slowly in a chartered state. When you leave, turn off the lights and open the door completely. There is no reservation in particular, so if it is not locked, it feels like you can enter. There is also a board storage like a drying room, so it is useful for the snow season. There are places to hang hangers, so you can dry your clothes. When I told him about the care of the board, he was willing to lend me an extension cord. It was good that I was able to wax in the drying room. The room is ２ for names, so it is wide 々. The desk is also large enough to work. When you return late, you should bring the key. You may have it when you return early. Once I left it at the front desk, I came back early in the afternoon, but sometimes I didn't come out at all even if I pressed the call. I tried to call, but I still didn't answer ... I waited for about 10 minutes and finally got off by elevator, so I may not be at the front desk. I stayed for a few days, so I clean it every day. You can also put new bath towels and toothbrushes every time. There is also a board storage like a drying room. There is also a place to hang a hanger, so you can dry your clothes. When I told him about the maintenance of the board, he was willing to lend me an extension cord. It was good that I was able to wax in the drying room.

　We stayed at a hot spring with a few rooms. We were able to enter the hot spring for 24 hours and entered many times in the middle of the night. The meal of the inn is delicious, but when I went to the second time, I stayed overnight and went to eat nearby. If possible, I think there is a plan with breakfast for one night. It was very healed.

Stunning place to stay. Amazing views from very spacious rooms. Excellent service. Nothing was too much trouble. Teens had the best time exploring and making snow men. Enjoyed skiing at a close resort as Naspa skiing was over for the season. Easy access to town bus leaves every half hr.

For the celebration of mother's rice life, ＧＯＴＯ was used, and my brother and sister gathered from various places. I really wanted to book a large room with an inner bath, but I booked an Asian taste room ２ room without vacancy. The result was not a great answer, a bed, but a type to stay in a twin on the floor. The hot spring was more compact than I imagined, but I didn't feel any inconvenience at all. The best thing was the buffet style of dinner, and the richness of the dishes was very much. The most delicious thing was the rice of Koshihikari from uonuma.

To put it simply, it is a traditional Japanese hotel renovated, and the proprietress speaks English very well. The room only has a toilet and no personal bathroom. There is a public bathhouse and hot spring. It is advertised as no dilution and no reheating cycle. I stayed in a single Western-style room, which was very clean. However, don't turn on the exhaust fan in the toilet when it's very cold. It will suck in the cold air from the corridor, making it useless to turn on the heater. The refrigerator in the room is very bright, only the Wifi signal is not full, it is not slow but not very stable. The second stop of the free shuttle bus is named after this hotel, but it only takes 5 minutes to walk from the station.
