Scenic Hotels in Koh Samui

"The room was very spacious and clean, with a large balcony. Upon arrival, we were pleasantly surprised with a bottle of chilled sparkling wine and dessert. The front desk staff spoke Chinese and were exceptionally friendly every month. When cleaning the room, they even replaced the ice in the ice bucket. Every afternoon, small snacks were delivered. One day, I returned to a cleaned room, but I had messed up the bed. During the short time I went out for dinner, the staff who delivered snacks also tidied up the room again and re-made the bed – fantastic! The views at Silavadee Resort are truly amazing, and the pool water is exceptionally clean. As soon as we got to the pool, staff immediately brought us iced lemonade, which was a lovely touch. The hotel breakfast was fantastic, offering both Western buffet and a la carte options, and everything tasted delicious. I especially loved the a la carte lobster rolls and fried rice; the lobster rolls had large chunks of lobster meat, and I easily had at least two every day, haha. All drinks were made to order, including various coffees, teas, and other beverages. Of course, there were also fresh juices at the buffet. The only minor drawback is that it's a bit far from the main road, but everything else was perfect. Our child had a great time and said they want to stay at Silavadee again next time we visit Koh Samui."

"They are calling themselves a wellness hotel and they are! The staff are very nice and attentive to the details. There are interesting sessions to attend during your stay and you will love it. The breakfast options were great and I enjoyed them so much while I stayed. The hotel provided a shuttle bus to central mall in case you don't drive. I won't recommend to walk from the main road to the hotel. I want to highlight the gym here that people will love and one more thing the hotel won't accept the customer under 16 years old."

"I had high expectations for this Ritz-Carlton hotel, but despite being a five-star hotel, I left feeling quite disappointed. One of the biggest inconveniences was that you have to rely on buggies to get around the resort. Walking is technically possible, but the distances are long and the routes are dull, so you're constantly waiting for transportation. The soundproofing in the room was surprisingly poor. I could clearly hear the guests upstairs talking, coughing, moving chairs, and walking around. This is simply unacceptable for a luxury hotel. The breakfast was another letdown. The selection was rather limited, and the bottled juices tasted diluted rather than freshly squeezed. There were no desserts available to order from the menu—only egg dishes. Even getting a cup of coffee required waiting 10–15 minutes. The gym was another major disappointment. For a hotel of this caliber, the fitness center is incredibly underwhelming. When I first saw it, I was genuinely shocked and frustrated. Considering how much guests pay to stay here, I expected a modern, well-equipped gym. Instead, it felt more like the fitness room of a three- or four-star hotel. This is simply unacceptable for a luxury resort and honestly quite outrageous. The biggest disappointment, however, was the beach. It looks nice for sunbathing, but swimming is almost impossible because the seabed is covered with sharp rocks and large stones. During our stay, both my wife and another guest cut their feet. I have a serious question for the Ritz-Carlton management: with the prices you charge your guests, can you really not invest in cleaning the beach? Bring in an excavator, remove the sharp rocks, and make the beach safe. How many more people need to get injured before something is done? You expect guests to spend money in your expensive restaurants, yet you can't provide a safe place to swim. That is simply disgraceful. Another downside is the location. There are no shops within walking distance, so even buying basic groceries requires taking a taxi. Overall, this stay was a major disappointment and nowhere near the standard I expect from the Ritz-Carlton brand. Rating: 2.5/5"

"Our stay at Banyan Tree Samui was a relaxing experience. The tranquility of the resort, together with the beautiful ocean-view pool villa, made every moment feel like a private paradise. Waking up to the stunning sea view and enjoying the serenity of our villa were undoubtedly among the highlights of our stay. One of the most magical moments was witnessing the sunrise from our villa. The panoramic view of the sun rising over the ocean was simply breathtaking and undoubtedly one of the most beautiful and picture-perfect experiences the resort has to offer. It is a sight that we will cherish. A special thank you to Khun Note from the Octopus Kids’ Club. Her friendliness, warmth, and easy-going personality immediately made our family feel at home. She has a wonderful way of connecting with both children and adults, and her genuine care and cheerful spirit truly warmed our hearts and made our children’s experience even more enjoyable. We would also like to express our sincere appreciation to Khun Nook, who accompanied my wife and me on the morning resort jog and patiently taught me how to sail a boat. In addition to being an excellent instructor, he was wonderful company and a pleasure to chat with during the activities. His passion, friendliness, and positive energy added a personal touch that made our stay even more memorable. While the staff were generally friendly and courteous, we believe there are opportunities to further elevate the guest experience, particularly in terms of attentiveness and personalization. During breakfast at The Edge and in our interactions with our assigned butler, we felt that the level of engagement and anticipation of guests’ needs could be enhanced. Given Banyan Tree’s reputation for exceptional hospitality, we had hoped for a more personalized experience that would make guests feel truly special. We share this feedback with the utmost respect and in the spirit of continuous improvement. Overall, we left with positive memories and are grateful for the hospitality extended to us."

"If you are a light sleeper, DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL! Soundproofing does not exist. It’s not bad, it doesn’t exist. I can could hear literally everything, even guests 2 rooms away from me talking casually. Also, the planes are landing straight above your head, so if you like to sleep until 9-10am, forget about it. First plane lands around 8am. In the picture you can see the doors from inside of the room. Light from a hallway coming in from all the sides, same as sounds. Apart from not being able to sleep, hotel is decent, nice pool and nice food in a restaurant. Good location if you don’t mind the planes in the morning. Breakfast is fine, but it could br improved.Room floor was dirty, couldn’t walk barefoot. For this money I expected way better soundproofing."

"Overall, this hotel is very good. From the moment we walked in, the staff asked us to beat a drum at the entrance, symbolizing good luck. While waiting to check in, they gave us blessing ropes, showing the hotel's thoughtful touches. The staff were very service-oriented, especially one girl with a very kind smile. She often waved us off as we left and waited until we got into the car, which was incredibly heartwarming. The style and facilities of the hotel room were excellent. It had a courtyard-style balcony, and the bathroom was quite large with a good-sized soaking tub; it was generally very comfortable. However, all the rooms we booked were on the second floor, which was inconvenient for the elderly in our group due to daily stairs. Moreover, on our first day, the room below us was a pool access room, and they were noisy from the afternoon until past midnight. I called the front desk to complain at 9 PM, and they immediately sent staff to address it, but the noise started up again later. Closer to midnight, I messaged Trip.com to communicate the issue. The next day, a staff member found me during breakfast to apologize for the behavior of the guests downstairs and offered to change our room to a different type that day. I was very satisfied with the hotel's ability to resolve problems. If you need anything at the hotel, you can call the front desk at any time, including requesting a buggy to the restaurant and beach. The hotel property has many slopes, and it's quite hot, so walking isn't ideal. The beach is beautiful, and there are many free water activities. My child spent one day kayaking and another day paddleboarding. The hotel's breakfast was a semi-buffet, semi-à la carte style. The variety wasn't small, but the overall quality was average."

"Comfortable, clean, and pleasantly surprised. This is my third time in Koh Samui, and I have stayed in several of the most popular hotels. This time I want to change to some new hotels. This time I booked a seaside homestay for the first three nights, and stayed here for the last night. Because there are three children in the family, we need two rooms, and this two-bedroom and one-living room is just right. The whole design of the room is very comfortable, the details are especially clean, and the living room and dining table facing the beautiful scenery are really pleasing to the eye. The key is that the price-performance ratio is super high at more than 2,000 a night👍👍👍"

"Overall, we really enjoyed our stay. The hotel is a bit out of the way, so you always have to take a Grab or a taxi to get around. There isn't much in the immediate vicinity. The pools are great, although there were a bit too few shaded spots. The breakfast is sufficient, and you can order fresh eggs and coffee for free. The restaurant is a bit more expensive than the local markets, but still reasonably priced."
