"Feeling absolutely fantastic! I booked this ryokan with a bit of hesitation because I'd seen a negative review concerning the food. However, upon checking in, I immediately realized that the hotel was completely misunderstood and undeserving of such criticism. Every single aspect of our stay was utterly flawless. The staff, in particular, were incredibly kind, warm, and wonderful. Please, promise me this: let's all, as fellow travelers, truly cherish and support this unique place. It's genuinely unlike any other, and it truly deserves our profound appreciation. I simply *must* speak up for this inn: Originally the villa of the Iwasaki family (of Mitsubishi Zaibatsu fame), built in 1929, it transformed into a hot spring ryokan in 1949 and boasts nearly a century of rich history. The Showa Emperor and Empress once resided here, and historical figures like Sun Yat-sen and Liang Qichao also had brief stays. Stepping inside, my mind constantly conjured images of these textbook personalities, creating an incredibly surreal and awe-inspiring sensation. The scenery here is so breathtaking that photos taken with a phone could easily pass for professional online images. The weather was pleasant, with the constant hum of cicadas and a gentle breeze. As I explored the entire forested area, I noticed meticulous details everywhere, clearly demonstrating the thoughtful maintenance and preservation. Here's a message I personally translated and sent to the hotel: To the esteemed staff of the ryokan, We are profoundly grateful for your continuous and exceptional hospitality. Even for humble guests like us, you embraced us with such warmth and genuine smiles. Thank you sincerely. We truly feel that the profound charm of this inn, steeped in a century of history, has deeply resonated with us, thanks to the individual thoughtfulness of each of you. "I really liked the hotel. It's conveniently located, but only if you have a small suitcase. There's a shuttle to the train station. The nearest store is a seven-minute walk along the embankment. The room was on the 8th floor, which was convenient for leaving the hotel since the exit is on the roof. The room was clean and had everything you need. The view from the room was stunning."

"The hotel's facilities are really great. I chose a huge tatami room all to myself, though people from my country might not be used to sleeping on tatami. The only downside to the room was that the air conditioning was a bit noisy, but thankfully there's a door, and closing it helped a lot. Both the room and the restaurant face the sea and the harbor, so the view is absolutely unparalleled. As for the location, it's a bit on the outskirts with no commercial areas nearby; it takes about a 10-minute walk to reach dining and shopping spots. All hotel guests receive a complimentary hot spring ticket. Their hot spring also faces the sea. The infinity hot spring pool is definitely the biggest highlight! The entire hot spring area is very modern and beautifully designed. However, it's spread across 7 floors, and you have to undress upstairs and downstairs, with shoe storage and showering not in the same area, which makes the process a bit confusing and overwhelming."

"I chose to stay in this low-key hotel on the mountain in Atami City. Although I had to take a taxi to get in and out, I actually didn’t want to leave the hotel and my room after checking in. The scenery outside is very beautiful, there is a private onsen in the room, and the hotel services and facilities are impeccable. You can go to the lounge to have a drink, eat snacks and watch the sunset before dinner! The hotel’s dinner serves Japanese food presented to guests in a French style. The menu can be fine-tuned according to each guest’s taste requirements and will be signed off by the responsible waiter for confirmation! With such serious service, you will definitely be satisfied with breakfast and dinner! Three days and two nights accommodation, great value for money service and enjoyment!"

"I first stayed at this hotel seven years ago and absolutely loved the lush green golf course and the peaceful comfort of the open-air rotenburo. I chose to stay here again this time, despite being well aware of the inconvenient transportation. I decided to make a compromise; I took a taxi for check-in and arranged a private car for check-out, so I didn't have to rely on the hotel's somewhat limited transportation options, especially since their shuttle only goes to a particular bus stop. Upon checking in, I was delighted to find that the overall facilities hadn't been scaled back. The courtyard was also filled with numerous lilies, their subtle fragrance perfuming the air. Our butler, Yamaki, spoke good English and was very pleasant. Although she was a newcomer with only a year of experience, she made us feel incredibly welcome and at ease. This time, in addition to the yukata provided in the room, I also rented a beautiful patterned one, which was very similar to the one I wore at Sensoji Temple – that made me really happy! Last time, we had both breakfast and dinner at the hotel, but my child wasn't particularly fond of the dinner, so this time we only opted for breakfast. The breakfast spread was remarkably similar to what it was seven years ago, and it still maintained that wonderful sense of occasion."
