"Feeling absolutely fantastic! I booked this ryokan with a bit of hesitation because I'd seen a negative review concerning the food. However, upon checking in, I immediately realized that the hotel was completely misunderstood and undeserving of such criticism. Every single aspect of our stay was utterly flawless. The staff, in particular, were incredibly kind, warm, and wonderful. Please, promise me this: let's all, as fellow travelers, truly cherish and support this unique place. It's genuinely unlike any other, and it truly deserves our profound appreciation. I simply *must* speak up for this inn: Originally the villa of the Iwasaki family (of Mitsubishi Zaibatsu fame), built in 1929, it transformed into a hot spring ryokan in 1949 and boasts nearly a century of rich history. The Showa Emperor and Empress once resided here, and historical figures like Sun Yat-sen and Liang Qichao also had brief stays. Stepping inside, my mind constantly conjured images of these textbook personalities, creating an incredibly surreal and awe-inspiring sensation. The scenery here is so breathtaking that photos taken with a phone could easily pass for professional online images. The weather was pleasant, with the constant hum of cicadas and a gentle breeze. As I explored the entire forested area, I noticed meticulous details everywhere, clearly demonstrating the thoughtful maintenance and preservation. Here's a message I personally translated and sent to the hotel: To the esteemed staff of the ryokan, We are profoundly grateful for your continuous and exceptional hospitality. Even for humble guests like us, you embraced us with such warmth and genuine smiles. Thank you sincerely. We truly feel that the profound charm of this inn, steeped in a century of history, has deeply resonated with us, thanks to the individual thoughtfulness of each of you. We wholeheartedly wish for the sustained prosperity of this ryokan for many years to come. "The room was actually quite spacious, bright, and comfortable, with clean beds and a fantastic full ocean view. However, the facilities were a bit dated. Also, probably due to staff shortages, the hotel offered guests staying multiple nights a 2000 JPY credit per night if they opted out of housekeeping, which could be used at the hotel's outlets. The hotel's location was a bit tricky to find. Arriving at night, the navigation led us through small alleyways and stone steps. Carrying luggage up those steps was quite a struggle 😰, and after descending the stone steps, we still had to climb a slope… 😂. I'd recommend taking a taxi if you're arriving late! Overall, this hotel was very comfortable, and it was a pleasant end to our in-depth trip."

"A wonderful ryokan with its own private onsen, offering two types: open-air and indoor. Dinner and breakfast are included, and everything is incredibly delicious, featuring many new and unusual dishes. They use only high-quality ingredients for preparation. All dishes are served sequentially, with detailed explanations of what each dish is and the best order to eat them. There's a huge variety of dishes – you'll be full for a week! The presentation is like something out of a Michelin-starred restaurant. The room comes with both a kimono and pajamas, along with men's and women's amenity sets. The room itself is spacious. They prepare the tatami for you to sleep on and then put it away. The tatami was comfortable, though I found the pillows a bit hard. They were special therapeutic pillows filled with grains (perhaps buckwheat, I'm not sure what they use in Japan)."

"I chose to stay in this low-key hotel on the mountain in Atami City. Although I had to take a taxi to get in and out, I actually didn’t want to leave the hotel and my room after checking in. The scenery outside is very beautiful, there is a private onsen in the room, and the hotel services and facilities are impeccable. You can go to the lounge to have a drink, eat snacks and watch the sunset before dinner! The hotel’s dinner serves Japanese food presented to guests in a French style. The menu can be fine-tuned according to each guest’s taste requirements and will be signed off by the responsible waiter for confirmation! With such serious service, you will definitely be satisfied with breakfast and dinner! Three days and two nights accommodation, great value for money service and enjoyment!"

"The hotel's facilities are really great. I chose a huge tatami room all to myself, though people from my country might not be used to sleeping on tatami. The only downside to the room was that the air conditioning was a bit noisy, but thankfully there's a door, and closing it helped a lot. Both the room and the restaurant face the sea and the harbor, so the view is absolutely unparalleled. As for the location, it's a bit on the outskirts with no commercial areas nearby; it takes about a 10-minute walk to reach dining and shopping spots. All hotel guests receive a complimentary hot spring ticket. Their hot spring also faces the sea. The infinity hot spring pool is definitely the biggest highlight! The entire hot spring area is very modern and beautifully designed. However, it's spread across 7 floors, and you have to undress upstairs and downstairs, with shoe storage and showering not in the same area, which makes the process a bit confusing and overwhelming."

"Originally booked an old hotel, but later saw that the location was better, so I decided to replace it. I am very fortunate that I am really satisfied with this choice! The preferred location is excellent, and the more Jiangzhi Electric waist stands down for three minutes. Opposite is the waist and the more coast. One stop ahead is Kamakura University, and one stop behind Enoshima can be reached on foot. It’s so cool to have a good meal in the morning and go for a run on the beach. The rooms are new, big and clean, and the equipment is modern and simple, not the kind of Japanese hotels. The shower room is very advanced and the toiletries are complete. The details are very exquisite, green tea, black tea, coffee quality is very good, the room has plenty of drinking water (two bottles of room temperature in the refrigerator), the towels are very soft, the bed is super comfortable, the breakfast in the restaurant is set-style, very delicious. I have eaten their buckwheat noodles for dinner and the price is not expensive. There is also a roof terrace, and when the weather is good, you can look out of the distance. In short, if you want to stay in Kamakura for one night, it is highly recommended to live here. There is a little expensive, I hope not to increase the price when I come back next time hahaha ～"
