2-Star Hotels in Shangri-La

We had a great time at Tina’s. Beautiful location, pretty good food, and super helpful staff. There was a small mistake with their records of our booking, but they were quick to fix it (by upgrading our rooms!) and were patient communicators in all our questions and needs. They have a great setup with a big dining room and more relaxed coffeehouse space above. Nearby is a bridge overlooking the gorge and a hike down to the water. We will keep staying here if we come back to Tiger Leaping Gorge!

The location of the halfway house was great. Right in front of the mountains and easily connects to the path on the way down. The service was good, they had an English menu and spoke some English. Very friendly and kind. The room is standard but cozy with a beautiful view. The bed was comfy and clean. The air is so cool and nice that having no AC is not a problem. We slept with the balcony opened and had no issue. I definitely recommend the room to anyone doing the hike. It was breathtaking view that you can’t experience anywhere else.

On the edge of Dukezong ancient city, it is very easy to find, and it is also convenient to take a taxi. Many travel friends settle here, and it is economical. If you are alone, there are many services at the front desk to join groups to go to different niche routes, which is very considerate. The only one close to the road, there are occasional vehicles passing by at night.

unique, excellent service, location, meals and room. Owner couple went out of their way to serve guests. They cooked the best meal in the area so no need to find food elsewhere. They arranged transport for us to go to Shangrila, Lijian Airport and the hiking trails. We were also invited to a wedding party in the Village high up i the mountain. Joyous celebration of dance and song with the whole village. our last day was the special day where the villagers slaughter their own pigs to make preserved meat. We were again invited to the farms high up in the mountain and had a most unique experience of live pig slaughtering and BBQ. No tour will ever offer this. As hotel, the accommodation is excellent for the price. Our room overlooks the gorge and mountain. The heated bed is great touch and comfort. Can see stars in the sky at night from the room balcony. Family run and treat guests like family. Highly recommended.

Facilities: everything you need The boss is very nice. Every night when the stove is lit, everyone will warm up and chat together. The boss will lead the team on hikes, and everyone will exchange experiences and provide opinions together. The atmosphere is really good. Lao Huang is really cute. Come see me off, and will go again in the future! Next time I will follow the boss to reload on foot haha

The whole inn is a pure wooden structure, which is rebuilt on the basis of an old Tibetan house, which is very local. The boss is also very good, upgraded a family room for free, thank you. And the heating was turned on before we checked in, and it was very warm to enter the house. The staff of the inn are very friendly and will smile and say hello when they meet. I hope the inn business is getting better and better.

First off: This is known as Judy's in the gorge and has been for years. Not sure why they've renamed it on here but in the gorge look for Judys. Stayed here at Halfway were renovating their balcony rooms. They've recently added new up market rooms with balconies and bathtubs. The rooms are very nice however the balcony is unfortunately somewhat ruined by the new hotel being built directly in front. A fact that isn't noticable on their official photos. My booking also said something about meals included but there no mention of this and we paid for breakfast so perhaps that needs clarifying. Overall the hotel has very nice rooms (and more basic rooms of you prefer) but we didn't have dinner here as we preferred to spend our evening on the rooftop at Halfway.

The inn (B&B) is located halfway up the Haba Snow Mountain, with the middle section of Tiger Leaping Gorge at its feet and a 10-minute drive from the Tiger Leaping Gorge Scenic Area. The inn is the house of a local fellow, with a total of 10 guest rooms on two floors. The guest rooms include (triple room, double room, double bed room). There is a terrace on the roof where you can drink tea and barbecue. From March to May, you can sit on the roof and watch The Jade Dragon Snow Mountain and Haba Snow Mountain opposite are certainly beautiful, but there is no snow on the peaks in summer from June to September and are shrouded in clouds and mist during the rainy season, so the scenery during this period is slightly compromised. The rooms in the inn are clean and tidy. The rooms on the second floor can see the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain and Jinsha River Grand Canyon through the floor-to-ceiling windows. Since it was the rainy season when I went there, the mountainous area was relatively humid. Since the inn is located halfway up the mountain, it is very quiet and the air is very good. Since it is located in the canyon area and the altitude is not high, the temperature in summer is very pleasant. The room supplies 24-hour hot water with warm water temperature. The lighting in the room is dim, so it is recommended to add a desk lamp for travelers who like to read. Since we were traveling with two elderly people on this trip, the female boss upgraded us from a double room on the first floor to a double room on the second floor, which was great👍. The inn provides three meals, all of which need to be paid a la carte. Just like ordinary farmhouses, breakfast is 15 yuan for a bowl of meat and rice noodles (noodles), and an omelette is 4 yuan. For lunch and dinner, seasonal vegetables grown in the farm's own alpine vegetable garden are provided, especially It is recommended that travelers who have the opportunity to stay in this hotel must order the Farmhouse Chicken (60 yuan per pound), which is very local. The inn has its own parking lot, which can normally accommodate 5 SUVs. (The following are the key points. Please read carefully if you plan to go there. Transportation: As mentioned above, it is in the canyon area between two snow-capped mountains, so there are certain safety risks when going there in the rainy season. The Jinsha River Tiger Leaping Gorge canyon is divided into upper, middle and lower levels. Among the three sections, the middle and lower sections are very steep, rugged, and the roads are narrow. The Jinsha River Canyon section is full of collapsed houses and rocks during the rainy season, and the precipitousness is far more than 318 (see the picture for details). Therefore, it is strongly not recommended that you go directly from Lugu Lake during the rainy season. The shortcut (only 188 kilometers) is from the East Ring Road under Tiger Leaping in Tiger Leaping, because you may be risking the safety of your family. It is recommended to come from Lugu Lake or drive from Tiger Leaping Gorge to Lugu Lake. Travelers take the high-speed detour from Lijiang (340 kilometers). The 17-seat Iveco minibus and The following cars can pass, but they need to back up and turn around at the corners. It is not recommended for RVs and mini-vehicles with low horsepower to go on this road. They may not have enough horsepower to go up the corners and risk slipping. Finally, let me talk about the Tiger Leaping Gorge Scenic Area, which is indeed spectacular during the summer water closure period. Summer is the most worthwhile attraction in Shangri-La!

We are from Thailand, we stayed here for 2 nights here. The owner,he picked up us at the gate of old town,he’s kind and helpful to us . I love the warmed-floor in the room. Although we communicated by google translate but he always gave us the answers what I asked😊 if I hv a chance to visit Shangri-la again, I’ll stay here again

It is not easy to adjust the temperature after waiting for a long time for hot and cold water, but this may be the case on the plateau. The location of the inn is very good. Whether it is renting clothes, eating, leisure shopping, taking a taxi or taking a bus, you can find high-quality and cheap well-reviewed shops within two streets around. It is also very convenient to travel near the North Gate.
