Although the hotel staff was very professional and courteous (special thanks for Iskandar!), this property disappoints. The rooms could use some sprucing up: the pillows are terrible, there was a smell in the room, and the room was sweltering hot even with the window open (in December!) The spa personnel messed up my appointment and nobody even apologized. The walls between rooms are paper thin and I could hear my neighbors and the TV at 3:00 AM. Although there were numerous reminders to wear a mask, none of the hotel employees did and very few of the guests... The location is good and Shymkent is an attractive destination but when I come back I will not stay at the Rixos. Not worth the money!

This is my second stay at the hotel. The front desk speaks very good English and a little bit of Chinese, and even remembers me. Due to the lost iPad on the plane, the front desk was very understanding of my nervousness and was always helping me to try to solve the problem.

Once again I was in Shymkent and I booked at the usual hotel. I tried several in this city but this is the one that makes me feel more comfortable. Hotel is nice, close to city center (walking distance) and at the same time aside enough to be silent during the night. Beds are quite comfortable: this time I found a spring matrass which seemed to be new, and it was nice to sleep there. Breakfast is various, not a huge choice, but everything is tasty (for Europeans, a little bit different from usual taste) and rather various from day to day. Big plus is the underground swimming pool and sauna, as well as the gym, and personally I love their bath tubs... Definitely, I will stop there again and again

The decoration style of the hotel is very good, and the care is shown everywhere. A hotel that looks small on the outside, in fact, it has very complete facilities. During the few days of staying, you basically enjoy one-to-one service, and the time set for breakfast and dinner will not delay your meal. The owner is Korean and very nice. Nikita, Camila, Merey, Allessya at the front desk are all good. Help call a car, help check information on the computer. There are relatively few Chinese in Shymkent, and the locals are mostly Russian or Kazakh.
