We have just returned from a wedding stay. The venue was absolutley stunning but more importantly all the staff from every team where exeptional. From the function team, front of house teams, catering and the lovely house keeping team nothing was too much trouble for each friendly and attentive staff member. I really can't praise the venue enough. Thank you Stirk house hotel for a perfect weekend.

I married my best friend at stirk house on 3rd Feb. We had the best day of our lives. From the moment we booked right until the moment we left all the staff are so friendly and helpful. Nothing is to much trouble and they go out of their way to make sure your day is perfect. Dave the master of ceremonies is an absolute credit to the team, what a treasure! He is brilliant at what he does and really makes the day. The food is excellent, the venue is beautiful, and the bedrooms are lovely. We couldn't fault anything, we really did have the most perfect wedding day..even the sun made an appearance after it had forecast rain all week! Thankyou so much to all the fantastic staff for all your hard work x

Really would have liked a small fridge if staying more than 1 night. Would have been nice to have shower caps and the small things like comb, toothpaste, a handrail on bath would have helped me get out without worrying of slipping. The suite was very comfortable, but over two or more days stay, big cups for tea, but then again, seems petty, against all the positives

We had booked Stirk house after being invited to a wedding, although the wedding was then cancelled we chose to keep our stay and have a weekend away. The suite we had booked was absolutely beautiful, in a separate building to the hotel but still felt completely included in everything, super clean and welcoming everywhere you went in the hotel, whether that be the restaurant or the bar area. Our friends have recently got engaged, so I contacted Stirk House to see if I could decorate their room prior to arrival, the lovely lady upgraded there room (a complete surprise) and kept me updated on when I could get in to decorate. This was so appreciated and massively added to the whole experience for all of us. Even though we were no longer part of a wedding party, and that weddings were taking place on both days we were there we still felt most welcome.

We stayed for my brothers wedding. The venue was lovely, all the staff were so friendly and helpful. The venue could of been thought out a tad different...all family rooms were up a flight of stairs and some down another flight of stairs which were steep and narrow; they would of been better in the rooms to the side of the building so that all the luggage didn't have to be carried so far. The family superior room was nice, not so much room space as I was expecting but the bathroom was huge which included a walk in shower and bath tub but we only used the shower. There wasn't air conditioning. It was a very hot afternoon and one member of staff said that they had put the AC on for a bit so the main room we were eating in wasn't too warm as the roof is all glass, but then later into the evening when the night guests were coming it got very warm. I asked the bar staff if we could have the AC on for a bit and they said they didn't have AC in the building even though you could see the big units in the ceiling so the evening was very hot. The food was amazing! Tomato soup, beef dinner (the beef just fell apart and was more like pulled beef) and sticky toffee pudding...it isn't something I would order for desert but wow it was gorgeous, not too sweet that you sometimes find. Also breakfast was a buffet and all lovely from the food to the staff. The room key number on the key ring could be a bit smaller so you could fit them in your clutch bag. The MC was great at leading the day and was very friendly, sorted any issues we had straight away with no problem. Had a great time and would happily return

The rooms are lovely and clean and the staff are so helpful. Particularly James and Josh, they were both brilliant, so friendly and couldn't do enough for you. The walls are thin, with music going until 3am and noisy guests in the corridors until 5am. Complimentary ear plugs should be provided in every room as standard due to this.

The staff couldn't do enough for you fantastic, the beds were massive and very comfy, we had a fantastic view from our room overlooking the countryside the breakfast was very good. We were there for a wedding and the food and service were 2nd to none, bar price expensive that's the only negative thing u can say

Stayed here for 1 night to attend my niece’s wedding. Stirk House was absolutely stunning and the ceremonial area was made up beautifully. The hotel staff were amazing, everyone took time out to talk to us and the bar staff were chatty when serving and no-one had to wait to be served. I must give a wonderful shout out to Dave the MC for the day/eve, he did an amazing job and you can tell he thoroughly enjoys it. He also took time out to remember all the bridal party’s names and was excellent with the little bridesmaids. The rooms were spotless (I stayed in one of the lodge rooms), the bed was so so comfortable but the pillows could do with being fatter and fluffier.. The wedding breakfast was absolutely delicious as was the morning breakfast the day after, again the staff were very attentive.

The room would benefit from blackout curtains as the room was bright from about 5am. Really comfy and large bed, plenty tea and coffee. We came for a family wedding. It was a beautiful day and the wedding breakfast of duck starter, beef main and a trio of desserts was possibly the best food I have ever had at a wedding. Bar is reasonably priced too.
