"Gintengai and Okaido. Everything you need is there, and you can live comfortably as if it were a little flat. It even includes a rice cooker. The lovely cleaning team cleans the flat upon request via message. If you leave the rubbish bags out by the door, they take them for you. A hoover is included in the room, so there is no need for everyday cleaning by the team. We hoovered and cleaned the floor with the wipes they provided. I cannot recommend this place enough. It is an absolutely fantastic place to stay. The only downside could be the thin walls; however, it is a quiet neighbourhood, and we had quiet people staying next door and upstairs, so it was no problem at all."

Hotel Patio Dogo

I was very impressed with this hotel as I had read some reviews that mentioned it is a little older than the average property but it was sparkling clean with lovely facilities and guest rooms. The location is perfect for visiting the three famous onsen hot springs facilities and the hotel actually provide special clothing to make visiting the onsens easier and more authentic. Parking is available for a fee and there is a small restaurant/bar onsite. This is a ripper of a hotel.

The hotel's exterior and interior are both very traditional Japanese style. Upon reaching your floor, you need to take off your shoes and put them in a locker. There are geta (wooden clogs) under the lockers for you to wear when going out, which is convenient for soaking in the hot springs. Although the hotel doesn't have its own hot spring, visiting Dogo is all about soaking in the Dogo Onsen Honkan and Asuka no Yu, so it's not a big issue. Just remember to buy discount vouchers at the front desk first! Finally, the mandarin orange juice tap in the lobby, the all-you-can-use Imabari towels, and the breakfast buffet are precisely why I booked this hotel! 😆

The hotel facilities are clean, and the service is excellent. I went to the first-floor public bath around 9:30 a.m. and had it all to myself. The open-air bath is nice. The hotel provides shampoo, conditioner, body cleanser, skin toner, and lotion. I'd love to stay at this hotel again next time I'm in Matsuyama. I had a great rest. The hotel key is a key, not a card key.

The room was comfortable and the heating was excellent. The onsen, which is operated in conjunction with the hotel, is especially better than Dogo Onsen. Towels and linens are provided daily, ensuring exceptional cleanliness. The breakfast was delicious and varied, making it hard to believe it was a hotel breakfast. There's also a delicious yakitori restaurant in front of the hotel. Definitely check it out.

It was nice that the inside of the building had a white-based atmosphere and was clean. At check-in, I was recommended to take a ticket for a nearby hot spring facility, but I decided to use the bath in the room. The bathtub was deep and the bathroom itself was able to relax with a size that could not be considered in other hotels. The room was also large and comfortable! The wind was strong when checking out, so the front desk was worried about the wind and the response was nice

The location is excellent, very close to the JR station, making it super convenient. While the room was a bit on the small side, it was impeccably clean. A really nice touch was the self-service amenity bar on the second floor, offering a wide variety of toiletries. Very thoughtful!

It was about a 10 minute walk to Okaido. I took the tram to Dogo Onsen and it was easy to find and convenient. The hotel staff were very kind. There were ample amenities and I didn't have any problems, and if I stayed multiple nights I got a free mineral water server. It was great. I'll definitely use it again when I go to Dogo Onsen.

If you're a foreigner you might have some troubles communicating but the staffs will do their best so no worries. The hotel is a bit on the old side but overall still great. If you bring a car then parking is next to the hotel at 900 yen per night.
