This hotel is located slightly north of Auckland city center and is an apartment-style hotel with relatively complete facilities. The rooms are equipped with a washing machine, microwave, oven, and electric stove, suitable for multi-day stays or those who want to save money and cook their own meals. The overall facilities are new and the conditions are good.
However, please pay special attention to the following points during check-in, sharing my own experiences to prevent future guests from encountering the same problems:
1️⃣ Purchase a SIM card that allows international calls and internet access.
2️⃣ Complete check-in in advance.
3️⃣ Fill in all names completely.
4️⃣ Save the hotel's backup email address.
Specifically, here are some points:
1️⃣ The front desk is not open 24 hours.
The hotel is unattended outside of working hours (such as at night). When I arrived at 6:30 pm, the front desk was already closed, and I could only contact staff through the contact number (international long-distance) left on the door. Therefore, it is recommended to confirm your arrival time in advance and try to arrive during working hours.
2️⃣ Online check-in must be completed in advance. The hotel will send an email in advance requesting you to fill in your check-in information. Please be sure to fill in the full names of all guests. Even if the names are registered with Ctrip, they won't be found if they aren't entered; only the names registered online will be searchable. I only filled in one guest's name, which caused the staff to be unable to match the order when they called to check in, affecting check-in. They insisted I confirm via email.
3️⃣ It's recommended to prepare a SIM card that can make international calls.
If you arrive outside of working hours, you need to call the phone provided at the entrance to contact staff. After I called myself, I also asked Ctrip for help, but they could only try. In the end, I had to contact the apartment and send the email myself. However, Ctrip was helpful and actively assisted. It's recommended to prepare a SIM card that can make international calls and access the internet for timely communication and email.
4️⃣ Keep an eye on the hotel's backup email address.
If you encounter problems with email communication, try contacting the hotel's booking email address (usually starting with reserve@, which is available on Ctrip). The response will be faster. The staff read me an email address over the phone, which was incorrect.
Overall, the hotel's facilities are good, but the check-in process needs to be prepared and confirmed in advance. We recommend that you complete all online procedures before departure and save the hotel's contact information to avoid affecting check-in when you arrive in the evening.

Looked a bit rough from the outside with the room doors opening onto the road / parking area. Difficult to get a pick up from the airport as they work on the assumption you've got a phone that works in New Zealand and can call yourself. Took effort to find information at the airport and call from there - then the pickup took about 30 minutes to arrive. Only got to see the inside of reception - whatever the problem was the receptionist, who was also the airport pickup driver, transferred me to another motel a mile away as the Gold Star room wasn't available. No issues with the other location other than it's receptionist was also it's driver and I had to wait for him to arrive to check-in.

We had to be at Greenlane hospital for surgery and follow ups. This room was the best possible location one can hope for/find for this purpose. The FreshChoice supermarket and other restaurants are 5min away. So easy to all ammenities!
The room is very small, but as a base just to sleep it works well. Keep in mind this is a room of a 4 bedroom unit that is being rented out on a short term basis. It is not an unit on it’s own. Having it’s own private bathroom makes it ideal for lock and go scenario.
The area is suburb all around. At night it is quiet/peaceful. Keep mind there are other people living in the unit - above and to side of the room - so expect some movement/noises as you would any normal household.
Hosts are super friendly. They communicate best via the booking platform.

Nice accommodation in Auckland‘s North / Albany. Quiet area with two alpacas. The kitchen is well equipped, property well maintained and the double bed room was spacious.
Staff could barely speak English and you could easily hear the neighbours through the walls. The building‘s quality seems cheap.
Would recommend it for a shorter stay, therefore.

Anonymous UserI enjoyed the free airport shuttle. The friendly staff, safe and being accessible to laundry services, breakfast and there was no disturbance. The motel was also near to our LDS chapel, about a 3 minutes walk away.
The cleaning staff were always on time. If we requested room cleaning, it was done with absolute care. Bath towels etc. were changed on daily basis.
The only drawback was the loud voice of the cook in the kitchen, who was on his phone.
The continental breakfast was awesome. Set out neatly with clean plates and cups.
Lastly, the 24-7 front desk service was great. We arrived at 12.50am and were greeted with a friendly front desk staff. Swift processing of our booking, in no time we were in our room.

Guest UserStaying here again after a year, it feels just as familiar and pleasant as before. It's truly a great value-for-money option in Auckland city center. You can walk to the supermarket in less than ten minutes, enjoy the vibrant bar street by the sea, or easily take a ferry from the pier to Devonport for stunning views. Highly recommended.

Guest UserThe airport shuttle service is a lifesaver, and the fact that they'll hold onto my car for over 10 days is incredibly helpful. If I have an early morning flight and a short international trip, staying here and leaving my car saves a lot on parking fees. They even accommodate airport transfers in the middle of the night or early morning, which is a huge convenience. I definitely plan on staying here again whenever I use the airport. While the facilities are a bit dated, it's perfectly adequate for just a place to sleep. Considering the airport shuttle and car storage, it's a fantastic hotel.

We just had an unexpectedly delightful experience at the Waiheke Island Motel, so much so that we added another night because we simply couldn't get enough of the place! Our stay began with a minor hitch: arriving late in the evening to find our pre-booked studio room was locked. However, the way the night manager and the team handled this was truly remarkable. They quickly resolved the issue by giving us a significant, stress-free upgrade to a spacious whole house with four bedrooms instead of our original studio. This immediate, generous response demonstrated exceptional hospitality and turned a potential frustration into the highlight of our trip. The motel's location is ideal; it offers a wonderfully quiet and peaceful atmosphere, yet it's in very close proximity to both the shops and the beach. We appreciated the on-site pool and the spa options, and the minute's walk down to the community Saturday market was a fantastic bonus. Our only piece of constructive feedback relates to the spa itself—unfortunately, the cleanliness was not up to standard, which was a slight disappointment. Despite the minor issue with the spa, the exceptional service, comfortable accommodation, and prime location mean we had a fantastic trip. Crucially, the price was quite reasonably priced compared to other places on Waiheke, offering excellent value for money. We will definitely return to Waiheke Island Motel!

Guest UserAlthough the outside of the hotel could do with just some little renovation, the inside was quite modern and the room was super comfortable, clean and also quiet. Very peaceful to rest after a long flight and to get ready for the next one. Bathroom was super spacious and clean as well. The staff was extremely polite and friendly. They helped me with every question I had and to organize the shuttle back and forth from the airport for free! I would not hesitate to stay here again. Thank you Kiwi Hotel!

YYutravellerWe stayed in a family room, and overall the experience was great, except for the breakfast! It had two rooms with a kitchen, very spacious and comfortable. The front desk staff were also good.
The only downside was the breakfast service. On that day, there were two Korean tour groups, and they were seated before breakfast even officially started. We, as individual guests, were told there were no seats and asked to come back an hour later (breakfast was from 7 to 9 AM, and we arrived promptly at 7 AM). Since we didn't have time to wait an hour, we stood there waiting for a table. Eventually, the first group of over 40 people left, and then the second group of 20 arrived right after! The food wasn't refilled, nor were the paper cups or tea bags. The coffee machine was broken, and there was only one small home-style hot water dispenser, which was clearly insufficient for 50 people. The waiter then brought another electric kettle from somewhere, and when I poured hot water, I saw black flakes – I realized the iron heating element inside was rusty and flaking off... A lot of people had already drunk from it (it was terrifying). In the end, I only ate an apple and drank a cup of tea. There was only one server, nowhere near enough to manage two large tour groups. No one was clearing tables, and the situation for us individual guests was even worse.
Another plus was the free airport shuttle bus. So, apart from the breakfast experience, everything else was very good. Free parking was also available.
