GGuest UserI spent a 5 nights at My Story Rossio and here are some of my thoughts: PROS: - Excellent location. Hard to beat this prime location. It's at the heart of the city with lots of things to do in proximity. There's also a Metro station across from it so you can take the subway directly from the airport. - Nice decors and overall pretty clean. CONS: - The biggest issue I had during my stay was the poor structure of the building leading to disturbing loud noises. During housekeeping hours, the door to the cleaning supplies kept being slammed. Every time it was slammed, my whole room shook and I jumped up. I called the front desk asking if they could be more gentle with the doors. I was told that that was the way housekeeping was and to call back only if it still happened after 5pm (after housekeeping hours). It was impossible to get any rest during the day. I understand that housekeepers need to do their job but I wonder if this issue could be fixed simply by changing the door hinge to a slow close hinge. Also, in the middle of the night, I would wake up by the creaking noises of people above me when they walked across the room. - Second issue was the thermostat. It was not adjustable and could only be controlled by the front desk. For some reason, the hotel decided that all the rooms needed to be in heating mode during the night. It was so hot and stuffy that I was not able to sleep for many nights. I had to call the front desk in the middle of the night to turn it off but sometimes it would automatically switch back on. Then I requested to have the cooling instead of heating on but it would be too cold at night and there was no way to dial it myself. So throughout my stay, it would feel like being inside either a sauna or a freezer.

GGuest UserGood location for catching flights out of LIS. Accept dogs but charge an additional fee of €33. That does include a gift pack of a blanket, treats and a couple of nice collapsible bowls. Make sure you ask for it if you have a pet. The room is small, but efficient, unless you have a number of large suitcases. Even with pre check in you still need to present your passports and fill out forms with emails and phone numbers. Probably not worth the time to pre-check in.

GGuest UserOn a busy street, it’s not very quiet, but you can wear earplugs. Your experience depends on the other travelers, of course, if they are considerate. The staff is very nice and accommodating. The reason I like this place is because it has a lot of character. It’s a turn-of-the-last century, 1890s palace, with very fancy ceilings, parquet wooden floors, and a marble floor lobby. It’s a real palace, one of many in Portugal! In 1914 it was rented to the Swiss Ambassador of Portugal. Although the place is quite dated now, it still has a lot of class. If you have a little more money, you can rent a small suite, higher up and quieter, also with credit card points (free or almost ). Unfortunately the internet only works in the lobby if you have a mobile phone. It seems to work fine for iPads and computers, strangely enough. It has a kitchen and washer / dryer. The fridge is old-style retro, as well as the deco in the whole hotel / hostel. (small fridge, but it does have a small freezer, too.) The place has a restaurant, which is popular. If you eat a large breakfast you can include it with your rent, it costs about 9€ (I don’t , so the kitchen was fine – modern electric stove top, microwave – no oven!) The top bunk of a three-tiered system is fairly safe, as it has steps, instead of ladder rungs. It has wooden lockers (bring your own lock) and small boxes, hidden in the stairs at every bed level. Not for the faint of heart or those afraid of heights… or those who can’t do stairs. Two flights of stairs up! Shared rooms on first and second floors, kitchen is on the first. No elevator to the shared rooms, unlike the suites.

ひろゆきさんI booked a single room but I think it made me a good room on the top floor. It's good not to say that I upgraded. Breakfast is delicious. The subway is also very close.

GGuest UserExcellent location as it is in town centre. We could get to all our targeted sites by walking. Lots of cafes and restaurants nearby.   Room size is adequate. Bathroom is sufficiently equipped. What can be improved is the shower tray space - very tight !   Reception staff are helpful and courteous regardless of which shifts. Keep it up !

AAnonymous UserStayed for 4 nights in a female ensuite - overall I had a positive experience! Firstly it was clean! A few things to note is that it isn’t the most sound proof to traffic and the temperature of the shower suddenly dipped from day 2 onwards. I can’t comment for social aspects but they offered some walking tours, pub crawls and drinking/ game tournaments on for some of the weeks. I didn’tutilise it but the kitchen area seemed stocked. Wouldn’t say it had the most social atmosphere in the common area but I was out for most of the time I stayed.

YytchengThe hotel is near a metro station and within walking distance of top attractions in the Alfama and Chiado areas, so it's rather convenient for tourists. The room is pretty clean, though the age of the amenities can be seen. There's a Lidl nearby for grabbing necessities and snacks. Staff are friendly and helpful.

SSefy LevyThis hostel is located about 3km walk from the center city, but does have some close by attractions (such as the Jeronimo's Monetary) The room is extremely small, if you seat on the edge of the bed and try to stretch your legs, you'll most likely hit the wall. We had our room replaced, as the first room had zero privacy for the toilet and the second room gave the illusion of privacy (as you can see in photos) We've not seen any of the management, as everything is done thru WhatsApp to contact them and they will respond. Breakfast was OK, it had a bit of choices but there was more cakes and cookies then actual food.
