Chaoyang Gate and Zhu Family Garden are just outside, which allowed me to explore during off-peak times. It's extremely convenient for sightseeing. 2. **Ambiance:** The hotel offers a serene, secluded ambiance, with a rustic charm that provides a wonderful contrast to the lively atmosphere of the ancient city. The courtyard is incredibly peaceful, and every corner is picture-perfect! It was a fantastic experience staying in a traditional quadrangle courtyard, especially with the kids. 3. **Food & Value:** The hotel boasts an impressive selection of all Jianshui's local specialty snacks, all complimentary and self-serve! You can simply focus on exploring the ancient city, as the hotel provides everything you could possibly want to eat. They offer all-day afternoon tea, a delicious and varied BBQ dinner, and a special breakfast. The value for money here is simply unbeatable! 4. **Service:** The hotel manager and staff were exceptionally warm and thoughtful. They promptly attended to our requests for ancient well water, fresh fruits, and meals. As a parting gift, they even gave us a bag of snacks and a discount voucher for our next stay. It looks like a second visit is definitely in order! This is my first time writing such a detailed review, but this hotel truly deserves it. When visiting Jianshui, I chose this delightful Manxin Hotel. It's conveniently located near Jianshui Ancient City, right by Xiaogui Lake, and close to a commercial area, making dining and getting around super easy. Plus, the hotel is situated on a side street, offering a peaceful retreat despite being in a bustling area, and there's free underground parking. The hotel itself is cozy and comfortable, with friendly and attentive staff. The rooms are spacious and bright, the bathroom has a great wet/dry separation, and the water pressure is excellent. The breakfast spread is generous and tasty.

On the right side of the hotel entrance and on the left side of the Lin'an Station entrance, walk straight for ten minutes to Chaoyang Gate (East Gate of the Ancient City). There will be a lot of tourists entering the ancient city during holidays, and cars and buses will go in that direction. If you stay in the ancient city, there are so many people, and you will be in trouble if you have to sit in a traffic jam after you have finished playing. When booking, looking at other people's photos of the dimly lit nights, I initially thought it might be a gloomy old landlord's house, but experiencing it firsthand far exceeded my expectations! It's a Chinese courtyard with a wonderful cultural atmosphere. The frangipani trees in the courtyard are abundant and fragrant, the pomegranate and jujube trees are laden with fruit, and sometimes little cats appear to keep you company while reading. The guesthouse is located within the ancient city, offering tranquility amidst the bustle. Stepping out, you're right on the old street, with bun shops, restaurants, and local specialty stores readily available – it's very convenient and full of local charm. My husband bought a long-coveted delicate copper kettle from a shop right outside, and that very evening, we enjoyed tea under the moonlight – it was truly delightful. A short walk to the right leads to Chaoyang Tower, and a short walk to the left takes you to Lin'an Railway Station for the small train. Zhu Family Garden is also not far. Overall, this guesthouse was the most satisfying of the four places I stayed during my Yunnan trip, and my favorite hotel I've ever stayed in while traveling. It's clean, well-equipped, offers attentive and thoughtful service, provides a comfortable living environment, and is imbued with a rich cultural ambiance. The room was spacious, decorated in a cozy and fun child-friendly style, and my kid was thrilled the moment we walked in. The bedding was clean and soft, and the family-friendly amenities were comprehensive, with great attention to detail, including a child's potty and slippers. The room had excellent natural light, and the soundproofing was good, so we slept very soundly. A special shout-out to the breakfast in the restaurant – it was abundant, the food was fresh, and the rice noodles were particularly outstanding. Both adults and children enjoyed it.

The terrace overlooks the shimmering waters of the Xuehai Lake (a scenic area in Jianshui). Banana trees and greenery adorn the old-style building, perfect for photos taken during the Republic of China era. The interior is even more delightful, with a coffee bar featuring a giant cactus, a water feature courtyard hidden behind a wooden lattice door, and a tea room filled with local Jianshui artifacts. Every corner exudes a retro and relaxed atmosphere. In my room, I could see the Confucian Temple from the bed, and the bedding was so soft it felt like sinking into a cloud. I was woken by the sunlight and the aroma of tea in the mornings, the air itself imbued with the slow pace of the ancient city. The owner was very welcoming, and the service was excellent. Highly recommended!

The room is generally OK, the best thing is the mattress, it is very comfortable to sleep on. The location is good. It is very convenient to eat barbecue next door. It is only a 5-minute walk. There are also several large snack shops around. It is said that this is because there are many students from Jianshui private schools. The breakfast was ok, but there were too many people in the morning, and the hall for breakfast was cold without air conditioning. The wash area in the room is quite narrow, and the toilet is really small, which makes me feel like I am just shutting myself in. The room is not soundproofed, and any noise outside can be heard inside. The service staff was not as good as the previous comments said. I arrived at the hotel after 1:00 pm and they didn't arrange check-in yet. Objectively speaking, it can only be a quasi-four-star hotel, and its infrastructure and service management need to be improved.

When I checked out this morning, I asked the hotel to print out the bank statement. They told me the stamp wasn't at the hotel and they would mail it to me after they got it. But after I got to the high-speed rail station, they told me I had to order it myself.
