DoubleTree by Hilton Vientiane 🇱🇦 | A Stay I’d Happily Come Back To I recently stayed at DoubleTree by Hilton Vientiane, one of the newer Hilton properties in Laos, and overall, I had a really great experience. 📍 Location The hotel is conveniently located and getting there from the Morning Market area was easy — I simply took a tuk-tuk. It’s also not far from the Mekong River, and some rooms even offer views towards the river. In case you book direct by Hilton website. 🏨 Check-in & Diamond Experience As a Hilton Honors Diamond member, I was able to check in at the Executive Lounge, which made the arrival experience even more comfortable. I originally booked an entry-level room and was very happy to receive an upgrade to a suite during this stay. The suite was spacious, comfortable, and very well appointed. It was definitely a nice surprise and made the stay even more enjoyable. 💛 Service What impressed me most was the service. The staff across the hotel were attentive, professional, and genuinely welcoming. A special thank you to Ling at the Front Desk, who took great care of me, and Chit at the breakfast restaurant, whose attentive service made the morning even better. Both of them really stood out during my stay. 🍳 Breakfast Breakfast was another highlight. The selection was extensive, with plenty of choices, but I especially enjoyed the local Lao dishes. There were Lao-style sausages and fried fish served with jeow dipping sauce and fresh vegetables — simple, local, and absolutely delicious. I always appreciate hotels that include local flavors at breakfast rather than offering only standard international dishes. 🛏️ Overall The room was excellent, the location was convenient, breakfast was impressive, and most importantly, the service throughout the hotel was consistently warm and attentive. It was one of those stays where everything simply came together nicely. Would I stay here again? Absolutely. The hotel is clean and hygienic, and the lobby staff are polite and speak both Chinese and English well. They are very helpful with calling taxis. It’s an excellent hotel. A special thanks to the staff. The facilities, including the outdoor pool and gym, are top-notch. The cleanliness is beyond reproach, truly world-class. The Chinese artisan spirit ensures the hotel is spotless. Every ten minutes or so, cleaning staff are seen inspecting and tidying the public areas. Watching their busy figures gave us guests a sense of peace. As for the environment, no one in Laos would dare claim to be second best after this place. Watching the sunrise through the window at dawn is incredibly romantic. In the evening, sitting at the sky bar, seeing so many beautiful men and women in pairs, groups, and clusters, truly brings to mind the ancient poem, 'I only envy mandarin ducks, not immortals.' Beautiful women and talented men gathered to envision their future together.

Le Seine is beautifully located facing the Mekong River, offering, in my view, the best riverfront scenery in Vientiane. The hotel is within walking distance of the night market and many of the city’s main attractions. The rooms and overall property are very well curated, fully in line with a boutique hotel experience. Nice facilities, comfortable beds, spacious rooms, and excellent showers. The staff is friendly, professional, and attentive. The rooftop bar is also a highlight, with live music and a fantastic view over the river. The only negative note was regarding my advanced reservation for a higher-floor Deluxe River View room. As this was a special occasion, I had even called a couple of days prior to confirm availability and specifically requested a room on the 3rd or 4th floor. However, despite arriving at the earliest check-in time, I was informed that all rooms of that category on the higher floors had already been assigned and were no longer available.

We stayed here when traveling back via Vientiane airport. So we only stayed for one short night. I have a mixed feedback Very positive: The staff is really friendly, helpful and also spoke very good English; the pickup from train station and transfer to airport worked very smoothly and was easy to arrange. Also the breakfast was quite delicious. The outdoor facilities like pool and surroundings also very well maintained and beautiful arranged. Not positive/ convincing The room itself are just old and outdated. Old facilities, used, not modernized. Just from a different area. I can't say not clean but you also don't have the impression everything very clean as it just ”used up”. We have been in Laos in some hotels, unfortunately I need to say this one did not meet the others and this mainly due to the rooms Location is okay. Not in the old quarter but more in the modern / new city part. Depends what is preferred.

This hotel, converted from a former French colonial governor's residence, is exquisite and truly captures a Southeast Asian vibe. It attracts many European tourists. It's very quiet, and the European-style service makes for a truly comfortable and pleasant stay. Highly recommended.

The gym has a lot of entertainment facilities, including a large billiards room, which is really fun. There are treadmills and various other fitness equipment. Right outside is an infinity pool, and the location is very convenient. Overall, it offers great value for money. There's also a laundry room, a pleasant environment, delicious breakfast, and convenient parking. The service is excellent, and the lobby is grand and elegant. The rooms are spacious, clean, and tidy. I'll definitely choose to stay here again next time. Currently, I'd say it's a relatively high-end hotel.

I was initially given a room that reeked of cigarette smoke, but the hotel kindly moved us to a slightly better one. Breakfast was decent. It's run by Chinese owners, and you can exchange money here, which is convenient. There are also a few restaurants nearby, and you can walk to the Mekong Riverfront restaurants in about 20 minutes, which was nice.

Clean and good quality hotel. On the downside, the air conditioning let a large puddle of water inside when it started to rain outside. At breakfast, where we arrived half an hour before it was due to end, the hot food had run out. The picture shows all the protein I could find in the thermal bath. There wasn't even an omelet or eggs available in the open kitchen.

Everything about this hotel was great, from the service to the friendliness of the staff. I especially liked that there's a convenience store on the first floor where you can buy Korean food, alcohol, cigarettes, and most daily necessities. The only downside is that it's about a 30-minute drive from the tourist area and Vientiane's main downtown spots. Aside from the location, everything else was top-notch.
