Hotel Traube

About 2 km from Stuttgard Messe and the airport, there is this lovely hotel, in a village that recalls Germany at the end of the 19th century. Spacious and well-heated room, cleanliness ok, large bathroom by the standards of German hotels. Kind and courteous owner, speaks several languages. The cleaning girls are always very kind, while the girls in the breakfast room are always "fast". Breakfast a little below average, perhaps because I arrived late and found little. Parking small and not enough for all guests. In any case, good compromise.

The structure is very beautiful on the outside and well positioned, unfortunately it has many flaws on the inside. It is divided into two parts, an older one and a more modern one. The first, although it needs improvement, certainly has charm and is better maintained than the second. The interior is a mix of ancient and modern that can coexist in harmony but many things are simply old and out of place. Our room, part of the new structure, was well laid out and well equipped (table with chairs, desk, 2 supports for suitcases) but anonymous, with dated furnishings and still with unhygienic carpeting on the floor. Clean. Small but clean bathroom. Fairly hard mattress (I like it), low pillow. The breakfast was poor and of mediocre quality. Cheap single-dose gel jams, no sweets except snacks packaged in supermarkets (specifically Bauli). No fruit. Cheap yogurt in a jar. Mozzarella, cherry tomatoes and cooked ham with cheese (Fontina?) hard-boiled eggs. No possibility of extra requests (scrambled eggs for example). The staff at breakfast did not speak English (they did not know what "egg" means. 2 juices in a carafe, gas and non-gas water. No possibility of toasting bread. Large automatic machine for coffee, tea, cappuccino etc. Free parking available for guests No elevator.

Alles sehr verwinkelt und auf mehrere alte Häuser verteilt. innen und außen eher heruntergekommen. Zimmer teilweise überholt aber mit vielen Defiziten in aussehen und Sauberkeit. Keine abstellmöglichkeit für Koffer. Fernsehe an dem die meisten Programme nicht funktionieren. Dafür ist der zimmerpreis einfach nicht gerechtfertigt. Personal ist freundlich und bemüht.
