Staffs were not welcoming at all and they were not knowledgeable about whether the resort offers an AI day pass to clients. In terms of food, few variety of meals in 'A la Carte Menu' and again f&b staffs were not aware of unlimited drinks offered in the pax and told us only one selected drink per person. Likewise, during tea time, no fritters and mini cakes were on display at the restaurant and the f&B manager had to take us to Casuarina which is opposite the resort to cater for the AI pax.. Two times, we had to show the booking voucher to show them that we are on AI pax and shall be eligible to these inclusions. In terms of activities, very limited and mediocre level of fun and entertainment near the pool(very small). To close with, it was the poorest experience lived for 5* star in terms of level of service, drinks, meal and entertainment for the guests. To better educate and prepare staffs about the different packages the Hotel offers so as not to mislead guests. The experience at the hotel was not worth the price paid for, was too downgraded for a 5*. Much improvements to be made for it to categorised itself as a luxury hotel.

Luxury in paradise. Staff are so nice and friendly and go above and beyond to help you. Bed and pillows super comfy. Stunning views. All food served was delicious and fresh with plenty of choice. Would HIGHLY recommend this hotel and will be on our list to return. Axel was so lovely and kind and made us laugh and smile, he’s a credit to the hotel.

Location: overall 8. the hotel is in a very nice location with direct access to a white sandy beach. It is also close by to villages and bus stop Room: overall 5. All rooms are beach front with balcony and spacy enough (large bathroom, air conditioning, tv, free water,...). We had an issue with the assigned room but they have been efficient assigning to us a new one even bigger. However few points to highlight: Check in : we arrived around 10 and we had to wait 4 hours before the room was ready. We knew that the check in was at 14 but we had an overnight flight and we would like to relax once arrived (note that we communicated in advance the time of arrival). Check in condition should be optimized for guests arriving in the morning after an overnight flight; Cleaning: to be improved for a 5 stars hotel (dust under bed, on top of lamps, bath tub non cleaned, toilet outdated, bath towels not changed once dirty,...); Sustainability: too much plastic ( shampoo, soap, etc...), but nice that they use glass bottles for water. Services: most of people very kind and responsive. To be improved the service at the table if you claim to be a 5 stars hotel. Also breakfast without buffet is not optimal has you have to ask for all items. The hotel could combine buffet with a la carte breakfast. Regarding the water activities, included only glass boat and kayak, wakeboard or water ski requires extra charge (special thanks to Patrick for the wakeboard ride) Price: overall 6. The price is cheaper compared to other 5 stars hotel in the area but again this is not a 5 stars hotel compared to other 5 stars hotel in the island. We had half board but the a la cart menu contains most of items with supplement to pay. The kitchen is not at the level of a 5 stars hotel(the chef didn't know the difference between Parmigiano and parmesan!!!!) If we would have to choose we would choose another place in the area, however we would like to highlight that most of the employees are very kind (special thanks to Naina)

Me and my partner had the most amazing holiday and that is because of the wonderful experience we had at Le Cardinal. The location and beach are perfect! Always available sunbeds and the white sands and clear water are so beautiful. I would recommend always staying down on the beach until sunset because most nights it was the most amazing view! The room was lovely, spacious, clean and the views from the balcony were incredible each morning. The fact that the hotel is only 13 rooms is one of the reasons we loved it so much - it was always so chilled and relaxing with the option to go across to the sister hotel to enjoy things like evening entertainment. The food is absolutely delicious and every meal is clearly freshly made! You choose your lunch and dinner each morning at breakfast which was something we were unsure about before - but we would now struggle to go to buffet style all inclusive because of the quality of the food we ate here! Especially the desserts! The staff are ALL wonderful and were one of the many highlights of our trip! They were so welcoming from the start and take time to get to know you, chat to you each day and help you with anything you need. Special mention to Mihir who cleaned our room everyday and came to see us every evening to switch beach towels and get the room ready for the night- he really couldn't do enough for us, was always so friendly and we loved chatting to him every evening. You will not regret choosing this hotel and we don't say this often but this is a place we will definitely be returning to!

This hotel is amazing. The location is excellent as it’s right on the beach. All the food is a la carte. You choose your menu for the evening every morning. The staff cannot do enough for you. The rooms are beautiful and all sea facing. Will definitely return as this hotel is hard to beat.

Wow! What a treat it was to spend a week here. It really is paradise. The location is incredible, the food amazing and all the staff make you feel part of their family! Nothing is too much trouble, and they are so genuine and friendly. This will take some beating. Memories that will stay forever.

The is one of the nicest hotels we’ve stayed in, fabulous suites, amazing views, right on the beach but the high light has to the food! It’s absolutely delicious, a la carte, no buffets or queues .. served by lovely attentive and friendly staff. Love, love, love this place .. thanks to Shiva for sorting us out!!!

The Hotel was not great at all .Our room was in some days not cleaned by 17.00. We had to call the reception to ask them to come and clean .Many times they didn't have enough towels .The food selection is very poor .The pool was very loud and the water looked dirty .I asked them to put more Salt to clear the water .Nothing happened. so we went to swim in the see. Two days they had a privat party from people who were not staying in the hotel about 50-60 people, a lots of children as well .Too much for a small hotel. All together very disappointing .Too expensive for what they offer .Never 5 stars .Maybe 3 stars.

Having booked with the sister hotel just across the road, we were treated to our first night in Le Cardinal as an anniversary treat. The room was stunning and spacious. We arrived late at night, a bit disorientated and very tired, so was thrilled and delighted when I opened the curtains the next morning to the sight I saw. We were just a few metres from the the most beautiful beach, palm trees and gentle lapping ocean. We then decided to pay a supplement to stay where we were! We had all our meals at the sister hotel the Casuarina which is just across the road, which was buffet style and suited us better, and the quality/ variety of the food there was fantastic. We also spent our evenings there enjoying the entertainment, then retreated to the peaceful Le Cardinal. Only one night after a particularly bad cyclone when we were locked down, we ate at this hotel. I’m glad we opted to eat at Casuarina as we felt like second class citizens by the kitchen staff. Room was kept very clean and tidy with new beach towels daily. Atmosphere was very relaxed and tranquil, with a saxophonist often playing at meal times and only a few fellow guests from the other 12 rooms. Much more relaxing than the constant beat of the Casuarina with lots of people and constant complaints of no sunbeds to be had. I didn’t really understand why anyone would want to stay by the pool when the stunning beach and ocean is on the doorstep, but maybe that’s just me. The rest of the staff are very friendly and the gardener works tirelessly keeping the grounds leaf free and clean. After the cyclone everything was very messy, but the staff had everything back as it was within a couple of days. No mean feat! The beach is perfect, water is warm, great for snorkelling. Plenty of sun beds for everyone either in the shade or in the sun. The bar staff will bring drinks to you in the garden or on the beach. Reception staff were very friendly and helpful. Room had kettle, tea, coffee and toiletries such as shampoo and body wash, and towels were changed daily. Swimming pool is freshwater and like a lukewarm bath, perfect for cooling down if sitting in the garden. Rarely anyone in it. To sum up, we would come back in a heartbeat with the same arrangement of staying at Le Cardinal but using the amenities of The Casuarina. Fantastic holiday and both very well ran.
