Hotel is in the isolated area very quiet, I stayed in the room 101 (King Room with Sea View) which is one of the best and largest room in this hotel. The room was beautiful, with good furniture, very clean and lovely view from indoor and outdoor. Unfortunately, it’s appeared that there’s no quality control in the rooms particularly this room mainly bathroom, in the shower area there is no place to keep a soap (no soap holder), while taking shower you have to keep soap down the floor with full of water because water are moving slowly to the drainage. Towels are disgusting looks like not for this hotel standard, very old towels a lot of stains etc. (see the pictures) me and my wife feel very irritating using them. At night Air Condition cooling was another nightmare (we didn’t get a good sleep at all) one small AC covering the entire area of this large room, beside that cannot reduce the AC temperature below 20% C. (on the bed side was too hot, cooling was above 26% C). If these three negative points can be improved then I take into account that this boutique hotel can be excellent

I traveled to Zanzibar after climbing Kilimanjaro this past July and decided to stay at The Seyyida. I had originally booked this trip for 2020 but we all know how that story ended…The staff at The Seyyida were generous enough to move my booking to 2021, andddd then again to 2022 when my trekking group postponed the trip a second time (still due to Covid). The hotel itself is beautiful. I had a room with a ocean view and I felt like royalty. The bed was HUGE, the bathroom lovely, and the balcony (albeit small) offered a *STUNNING* view. They offer to spray mosquito repellent every night and, although I do highly recommend taking them up on this offer, it does have quite a lingering smell. So plan to be out of your room for dinner or a tour for a couple of hours. The rooftop restaurant is beautiful and offers an amazing view of the city and ocean. The hotel staff was nothing short of amazing. When my hair dryer broke, they found me another. When I needed more towels, they brought me them immediately. When my driver never showed up for a a tour I had booked, they arranged for a new tour and a driver was there in 5min. They mailed a postcard for me when I asked where the bearer post office was! They let me leave my suitcases there after I checked out because my ferry wasn’t until the afternoon—and they even helped me carry my *very* large duffel (from climbing the mountain) all the way to the ferry!!! I also had an amazing massage here on a rainy day when I wasn’t sure what to fill my day with. The front lobby is unreachable by car, but it is perfectly located, and quick/easy by foot to meet a driver on the road. Within walking distance of so much. I didn’t use the pool, but it looked lovely as well. It’s not very big, but big enough to sit and relax. Cannot speak highly enough about the wonderful front desk workers (and all other staff) and this beautiful place.

This hotel is something really special. Little gem hidden in an old city. The location is directly on the beach; you can hear the waves flapping, when sitting at the dining area outside. Also it is central, but in a very nice and secure part of town. The swimming pool is large and has a sea view. Breakfast is delightful. Accommodations are sparkling clean and have got this old style Zanzibar charm with an accent on furniture, doors , lamps and even ceilings. Beach view is spectacular. But the best part is the people, the staff. Friendly, accommodating and understanding. There was a technical mistake with my online booking, and I thought I lost a reservation, and to my biggest surprise the manager Yakub Abdulkarim, very kind and intelligent man, realised it was a legitimate mistake through no fault of anyone. He has fixed it right on a spot, and I found myself in this most amazing room/bungalow with the sea view and an unforgettable feeling of warmth from staff’s overwhelming hospitality. There are not many places to go shopping in Stone Town on Sand Island. The rooms here are relatively small. If you think you want to live at this price level, there are a lot of surrounding areas, but the conditions are more general and the price/performance ratio is not very high. The hotels in Africa are generally better than those in Southeast Asia. It’s quite expensive. The table in the room is dusty. As a Hilton, I shouldn’t. It can be seen that this hotel spent a lot of money in the past, but the decoration is outdated. Only the bed and pillows are very comfortable, because on the island, there are still some Humid, the hotel has its own scent, but I don’t like it very much, and there is no swimming pool in this hotel

I had a very thrilling time at Tembo House. The location of the hotel is by the beach, so the view was very art for dinner and breakfast. The same party together also admired. I am willing to visit again. Staff was friendly and highly recommended.

Beautiful period property. Well maintained. Within walking distance of all local attractions. Great view of the waterfront. Surrounded by rest of the city, not isolated. Very nice rooms. Quite clean. But: Very dimly lit rooms. Untrained staff (but very willing and friendly) Just about adequate restaurant, but the breakfast buffet is quite good. Elevator/lift ancient: could scare the faint hearted.
