We stayed in room 101 which was right next to reception on the ground floor, so we could hear guests if they were talking in the reception area. The room was clean, however it was very small. Only just enough room either side of the bed and nowhere to store cases as the bed took up most of the space. A small hanging wardrobe only and no drawers. It felt as if you were in a basement as only very high windows at ceiling level. The pillows were completely flat which didn’t help with sleeping. The bathroom was also tiny and my husband couldn’t stand in the shower due to the low ceiling height. The plus side is that the location was great!

Close to everything! Comfortable ! Great breakfast. Staff very accommodating they booked a private water taxi to get us to the airport and then even brought us breakfast for our early morning departure at 4am! Amazing! Bed was comfortable balcony was cute and storage for luggage was very nice.

We absolutely loved our stay at Ca’ dei Dogi in Venezia. We only stayed for one night (oh, I wish…) as we traveled in Italy for 2 weeks at that point and were happy, excited but exhausted. A couple of days before we arrived I received a email with detailed directions to the hotel. The location is hard to beat. It is literally steps away from Piazza San Marco and from San Zaccaria vaporetto and Alilaguna stop. Staff greeted us with smiles and kindness. The check-in took minutes and our suitcases were carried upstairs to our apartment called Moon (there was no lift). The apartment is spacious, very clean, and equipped with everything you would need for your stay. After the evening of exploring we slept like babies and checked out the next morning. We stored our suitcases in the office to have another day of adventures and picked them up before our trip to the airport. My 74 year old mother said “I wish I could stay here longer”. I am sure though that this is not my last trip to Venice and I will recommend a stay at Ca’ dei Dogi to anyone I know will be traveling to Venezia. Thank you!

We stayed for three nights in the “apartment“ portion of this hotel, our third time staying here, then we would not ever book any other accommodation in Venice. Right around the corner from the doges palace, and Saint Marks Square. Our apartment was spacious And clean with excellent air-conditioning. The reception staff is outstanding… Especially Susanna, who assisted us and making a very difficult reservation in Padua. Stefano and John and Mario also were very willing to help us at every turn. I could not recommend this accommodation more highly.

We were preparing to go on a Rick Steves tour. We arrived a day or two early in order to ascertain we would make it on time (we did miss a connection, different story). Spent only one night at this hotel. The check-in and check out was super easy with the staff being very efficient. The bed was clean and comfortable and the room was very clean. Breakfast was included and was delicious. Although the room was small, it met our needs. When you've flown from the Western United States to Venice, who wants to spend all their time in a hotel room? We were traveling with another couple and they similarly had a great experience. I have no hesitation in rating this hotel with five stars.

This was our first time visiting Venice. Amazingly beautiful city and this hotel only added to the experience. Great location. It’s basically right next to San Marco and within walking distance of all the major sights. Susana was extremely helpful and friendly as was the night staff and the waiters in the restaurant where breakfast was served. The hotel was very clean and had everything we needed. The only negative would be the selection of allergen friendly food for breakfast but one can make due. We will be coming back.

Pros: Ca' dei Dogi is a great little boutique hotel in Venice! It's location in relation the the Doge' Palace and St. Mark's Basilica, the two biggest places to visit, is PERFECT. Its also perfectly located to water taxi stands. If you never been to Venice its hard to understand the long and winding route you will have to carry, roll, or drag your luggage to get to your hotel once your water taxi drops you off. If you get dropped off at the closest stops you will only have to cross one bridge with your luggage. We rented one of the apartments. Specifically, we were in the Moon apartment and it was very good. It has two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a kitchen. The air conditioning is fully functional and if you're an American used to having air conditioning you will appreciate it. The beds are comfortable and can sleep two adults in them no problem. In one bedroom is a futon and according to my 6'1" was very comfortable according to him. This larger space should sit well with Americans and Canadians who are used to larger spaces when traveling. The staff was super nice and helpful. Susanna was particularly helpful in a credit card payment problem. We encountered some issues while trying to reserve the apartment and she was understanding and responsive in our communication back and forth in getting the problem resolved. Cons: One of the bathrooms was not as clean as it should be and not as clean at the other. There was a ton of long strands of hair on the floor and in the drains of one of the bathrooms. We've seen worse but after a long international flight the last thing you want to do is clean the bathroom. The futon mattress was comfortable but the fake leather covering was cracking and crumbling which left bits of itself all over the floor each morning. They do not do a daily cleaning service on the apartments so its up to you to clean it or ignore it. The lack of free breakfast for the apartments is a bit of a disappointment. Ca' dei Dogi only has three apartments and while they have kitchens I don't think denying the free breakfast because of it is justified. Its not completely clear about this fact when booking also. I would suspect the people renting the apartments are either larger families that would appreciate not having to cook or go find a breakfast place every day. Or their international visitors like us and have no clue, or desire, to got stock up a kitchen. Which would require finding a grocery store and we never saw one while there. We saw little convenience stores with a small selection of fruit and snacks but no proper grocery store. If Ca' dei Dogi reads this, I hope they include the apartments for the free breakfast in the future. Overall I would stay there again and I would recommend it to just about anyone. I would not recommend it to anyone with mobility issues as there is no elevator, only stairs, but other than that it was an excellent stay!

Spent 4 days/3nights at Ca' dei Dogi in early June. The location is the selling point! Take Vaporetta 1 or 2 and get off at San Marco Zaccaria Stop F. When you come off the water bus head left and there is a somewhat hidden alley just before the first bridge. Head down this alley and take the first left. The hotel is literally a minute walk from the waterbus and 2 minutes from St. Mark's Square. Whilst you are so central to everything, it is also so peaceful and in a quiet spot. Best of both worlds! It has a small rooftop terrace. We were so tired on our first night and we grabbed pizza from a nearby restaurant and ate on the rooftop terrace. It was perfect! Whilst the room was absolutely teeney tiny even for me and my 10 year daughter (one double bed with one side up against a wall) , I have to stress that we were made aware of that ahead of time. Upon check-in the host did offer to move us to a larger room the next day, and whilst very much appreciated we knew we only needed the room to shower and sleep as we planned to be out all day so it wasn't worth the effort to move! The bathroom was also tiny, don't think anyone tall could have managed it! But for me and my daughter it was sufficient. Room was spotless and cleaned daily.
