Ilala Lodge Hotel

Such an amazing place to stay, beautiful.

We stayed at the Ilala Lodge Hotel at the end of September/start of October. Superb hotel with a fantastic setting, very near to the Victoria Falls National Park. The hotel is well fitted out, and the room we had was large and very comfortable with a balcony onto the garden grounds. Food was excellent; we also took advantage of using the sister hotel, The Palm, for an evening meal overlooking the Zambezi River. Again, excellent food. Both hotels are wonderful. The Ilala is slightly better for the town. Staff were friendly and keen to help. Highly recommended.

An amazing hotel, 10 minutes walk from the Victoria Falls. Excellent Service and food. Staff so helpful and friendly. If you are lucky could see Elephants, bamboos, bushbuck and birds from your hotel balcony.

Thank you to the people of Ilala Lodge for a pleasant stay - always friendly and helpful. It is high quality establishment in close proximity to all the activities with excellent rooms and all the amenities to make your stay comfortable and without any fuss. The Cassia restaurant deserves a special mention.

Stunning location, with the sound of the falls rumbling away in the distance and a good view of the most efficient first thing. Friendly and cheerful staff, lovely lunch and amazing cocktails! The pool is beautiful but freezing! There are helicopters from 8 am until about 6pm but we didn't mind then and they soon become background noise.

The lodge is perfectly situated within easy walking distance of the falls and we also walked across the bridge to see the falls on the Zambian side as well, which is well worth it. The lodge is also really close to 3 banks, shops and some restaurants. Our room was very clean & comfortable, we had a complimentary mini bar but the wine wasn't very nice. We ate in the restaurant which was very nice, good food & good service. The hotel staff are really helpful and its a nice place to relax when you are not busy with activities around the falls.

Beautiful setting. Grounds are immaculate. Rooms are spacious and well kept. You can see the mist from the falls from the Lodge. Location is fabulous 10 minute stroll to the falls. Restaurants and shops on the doorstep. The animals that wonder through the grounds make it authentically African. Food was lovely. Big shout out to 'Lucky' the bar manager. We had lots of lovely chats and he really took care of us. Thank you for such a wonderful stay.

I am still here for my one day stay . The pickup agency and time for our next destination was not very clear in the instructions provided by the tour company. The hotel staff went out of their way and contacted ALL transfer companies and then slipped a paper with the info under the door at night. Then my son wanted to watch the night FIFA World Cup march . The reception said the age and proclivities of the mostly senior guests did not result in great enthusiasm for football and they were not sure if the FIFA cup matches were on their network. But they told him they will somehow get the connection and they did . I think this sort of concern and care is outstanding even in a very guest friendly industry . This certainly goes far beyond duty and normal concern . Please keep it up !
