The hotel was fairly close to the town centre we arrived before the pub was open so couldn't park the car there as you need a on street permit so had to go to the town centre car park. The room was cosy and we had a very nice evening meal we tried their pies, the pub was busy with a good atmosphere only a small criticism was the 10 percentage charge on the bill that put a glass on cheap wine over £9.00.

A hidden gem in Winchester. Cosy room with some nice touches like real coffee and a mini cafetière. Friendly staff, and the pub itself does great food. The TV was damaged and had a line across the middle, which was a bit annoying, but obviously we didn’t book the hotel for the TV! Excellent value and a nice place to use as our base for a few days while visiting family.

Not what it made out to be. Room/Bed size too small. Breakfast not up to what could be expected.

Fabulous location in a very quiet residential area. Literally 5 minute walk into the city centre. Pub is quirky , warm & welcoming. Our room was spacious , very comfortable beds & fabulously clean . We were treated to loads of tea/coffee , yoghurt, delicious granola, muffins & fruit for breakfast..perfect ! Shower was powerful & hot . Wifi good. Not a complaint but rooms now in need of a little TLC . We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.

Came for a few drinks and a meal. Lovely cosy, traditional pub. Staff really friendly and welcoming. Good selection of real ales and a nice French merlot. Good food at reasonable prices. Highly recommended if you're in the area.

Laying in a comfy clean bed, after a lovely day in Winchester but unable to sleep at midnight because we can hear every word, every step of making tea and all with the tv on, in the next room. Definitely not peaceful so we are very disappointed and obviously not as lively as the people in the next room!!

Very good lunch, a welcoming pub that has the feel of a 'local' but also friendly to 'outsiders', seemed a good mix of ages, families, friends and most especially dogs that like this pub. Very busy when we went (booked beforehand) but never had feeling of being rushed, they seemed to accommodate everyone, the children were convinced it was a filming location for Harry Potter but it just had that look about it..it was the sort of place that if Hagrid popped out the gents noone would have batted a eye.

Exceptional customer service. Happy, helpful and worked so well as a team. The menu could be a little larger and varied but would still come back. Lovely atmosphere with spacious table planning. Lovely experience.

What a little gem of a place this is. Warm welcome on a Sunday afternoon on the day the clocks had gone back, assured we we still fine for late Sunday Lunch which was a bonus. Excellent Roast Beef and great local beer. Also had dinner on Monday (which we had been pre warned was quiz night! - I'd avoid that in future) again excellent food. Bed room ok size, quirky in style, with very heavy furniture. Breakfast in the cupboard was lovely, with fridge and fresh milk too. Also the ground coffee with french press and tea bags with pot was a joy to find. 10/10 for that touch. Only negative is that you leave your key in a basket on check out and then have a parking pass to return...not easy and post box/letter box could not be found.
