Possibly one of the most picturesque venues you can visit. Impressive adaptation of the old sugar factory -
The road outside the hotel walls can be busy and despite thick isolation with plants and walls can be noisy.
The place is kept very well maintained.
Restaurant and bar have great vibe and offerings are of good standard but pricey though.
The swimming pool is unique maintaining the cement frame of an old storage offering stunning views of Li river surrounded by the typical limestone hills of Yangshuo.

I will start my review by saying that I have been dreaming of visiting this hotel for a long time. Planned a trip and went for a one night stay at this hotel. For me, the cost of the hotel is quite high and I was expecting high service and visual enjoyment from the visit. But the hotel management decided to hold an event on the hotel grounds. And it ruined the whole experience. The natural beauty of the hotel was spoiled by the decorations of the event. As a photographer I was unable to take decent photos of the hotel as there was nothing to photograph. I am very disappointed with this trip and would not recommend this hotel. The feeling that the hotel is only focused on commercial interest and not at all focused on service.

Excellent experience for a couple retreat in the mountains of Guilin, Yang Shuo. We stayed for 3 days and 2 nights in the resort to laze and immerse in the beauty of the mountains and the Li river.
We had free morning yoga and Taichi lessons, breakfast spread was varied with local dishes and good for 2 mornings, there were free sugar painting activities, art exhibits and free tour on the history and restoration of the whole old sugar factory to the current resort. I am not an architect but I am very amazed and impressed by the whole design and architecture of this place. Its blends seamlessly the old buildings, modern design and the mountains and environment together.
Kudos to Peter and all the polite staff who were patient to help translate with Chinese language and help in our every needs during our stay here.
10/10! We will be back

Probably one of the most beautiful hotels I've stayed at. The lush mountains and river. The service is really good too.location is perfect too, close g to most scenic sights. However, the western food needs improvement, the pasta was really oily, the burger was overcooked and dry. Also, the noise level from trucks on the main road can be heard in the bedrooms. And sometimes can be quite loud.
