The place is comparatively spacious than most Hong Kong hostels. The place is clean and well-maintained. They have a digital door lock for security. They do housekeeping every day, cleaning the room, setting up the beds, and providing change of towels and toilet paper. Location-wise, they are also very near TST station, restaurants, and grocery stores, which is very convenient. I would highly recommend this place!

This is the definition of a budget room in Hong Kong: very, very, VERY small, the shower is above the toilets, and the bed can feel a bit small if you're 1.80 meter tall or above. The guesthouse is located on the 7th floor of the notorious yet fascinating Chungking Mansion Building (If you haven't heard about it, Google it). Having said that, the employees were extremely kind and helpful, and offered an even better price when we asked in person to extend for 2 extra nights.

When the front desk is not staffed, you need to enter and exit using the keypad. The room was opened in January 2025 and was very clean, but it was not very user-friendly. There was no curtain between the shower and toilet, and the sink was small.
I was satisfied with the location and the night view from the bed. There are many delicious restaurants in the area.

l would like to give a thumb up to this hotel. Staff at reception are cheerful and friendly, especially Ken. He recommended us what to do in HKG. The hotel room was perfectly clean. l will definitely recommend my friends to this hotel.

Review for Hakka Guesthouse, Hong Kong
I recently stayed at Hakka Guesthouse during my trip to Hong Kong. Overall, my stay was satisfactory. The location is convenient and provides easy access to public transportation and nearby attractions, which was very helpful for exploring the city.
The room was basic but clean and functional, meeting the essentials for a short stay. However, I felt that certain aspects could be improved, such as the comfort of the bedding and the amenities provided.
Despite these minor issues, it served as a good base for my trip. If you’re looking for a no-frills, budget-friendly accommodation in a central location, Hakka Guesthouse is worth considering.

The room is located along Nathan Road. Near to MTR Mongkok Station and bus stops.
The hostel is inside a commercial building and located in 11th floor. Safe because the building is well-lit and no queue on the elevator.
The hostel is also safe, there is a security lock not only in your room but at the entrance of the hostel so only guests and staff are allowed to enter.
The room is very clean and complete with all the basic things you 'll need like very cold aircon, hot and cold shower, toiletries, slippers, kettle with cups and built-in electric sockets (no need to buy adaptor).
They also allow you you to leave your luggages after your check out time for free.
Thanks Mongkok Hostel.

Went to Hung Hom with friends to watch a concert, and found this hotel on Ctrip. It is simple, clean, bright and tidy, a few steps away from Tsim Sha Tsui MTR station, and also close to the bus stop to the airport the next day. I will choose it again next time if I have the chance.

To begin with, finding the reception for this hotel is not easy. The lift is very slow and it smells a bit. They also had renovations going on so we just asked a random person to help us find someone to talk to. There was no formal check in. We were brought to our room which was right beside what seemed like a common area. The first night we were there, people were smoking and talking until very late at night. We couldn’t open the window because of that and it wasn’t very sound proof to begin with.
However, the bunk beds were rather comfortable and the room was clean. But they didn’t clean the room very often, our bins were only emptied the night before our departure and that’s a long time with 4 people in one room. We stayed for 4 nights. The hotel was okay despite the inconveniences mentioned previously. Great convenient location right next to the metro station and close to Victoria Harbour. You’re a walk away from bakehouse and Australia dairy company which are some popular food destinations in Hong Kong

As a frequent traveler to Hong Kong, I’d say this hostel is my top favorite as of the moment and we’re already planning to book again for our next year travel back to HK. Location-wise, it’s the best. Walking distance to the harbour, nearby malls like Silvercord, K11 Art Mall, Mira Mall, and Harbour City, surrounded by restaurants and fast food chains, a grocery in front, and two MTR exits (A1 with lift and escalators going up and down, and A2 with escalator going up and stairs). It is also few blocks away from Bakehouse (😆). In terms of room size for 3 pax, it’s livable and pretty spacious as compared to our room on the 9th floor last year 🤭 from the same building. We have 5 luggages - 2 carry ons and three medium check-in luggages, and yet there’s still space for the mini table and chair and we still have space to move inside the room. I love their big glass windows which give us the best view of Nathan Road. They also offer water refilling dispenser which is a big saver because bottled waters in HK are pretty expensive! Stayed here for 6 nights and got new towels everyday after the room has been cleaned, and bottled water replenishes. Rooms are clean and looks the same as advertised in the pictures. Only cons I would say is that the shower area doesn’t have a door or divider so water splashes everywhere and floor gets flooded, but still tolerable. I would also like to suggest having a microwave for food reheating. 😁 aside from that, everything you need is here. In terms of room rates, price is okay and expected for HK standard; still cheaper than booking a hotel room from known hotels in this location which would also require security deposit. As for this hostel, no need for security deposit. Thanks to Trip.com and was able to get an early bird rate for this room. For security concerns, the building has security personnels when you enter, CCTVs are working in elevators and specific areas, hostel floor is secured with passcode which can only be opened with guest keycards. Room security doors are also up-to-date or modern. I love it!! Kudos also to Filipina housekeepers for being so approachable, helpful and kind to us during our stay. While the boss is very hands on in reaching out in WeChat for any concerns and also provided guide around the area and tourist attractions. SUPER RECOMMENDED!!! Loved and enjoyed our stay. We already miss the view. See you again next year! 🩷

Very good location as the metro (mtr) is very near to the hotel as attached in the photo. Just opposite the hotel. There are alot of eateries downstairs as well as 7-11.
You may also take airport bus (A21) from nearby bus stop.
However, the rooms was very very small. The double bed looks like super single. Room was clean and no housekeeping will be provided during your stay. Only provide tissues and 1 bottle of mineral water on daily basis.

GGuest UserI want to try and be balanced. I hate to give this place too much hate. I feel like they’re doing the best they can with the cards they’ve been dealt and the price reflects that. This being my first time to Hong Kong, I was not aware of what to expect price wise.
That said, I want people to who read this to have more reasonable expectations than what the 4-5 star ratings want you to have.
Location. I suppose it’s in a good location of the city but it’s in an apartment above a market like setup. As i walked into the building i was immediately pounced upon by individual after individual who seemed to be trying to rent me their own rooms. I had to just ignore them and keep walking. I don’t like being rude, but I’ve found this is the easiest way to escape. I never feel safe in situations like this especially late at night.
The room was small and generally clean. I’ve left hotels in the past that were just horrid, this isn’t one of those. The mattress was comfortable but the bed was short. I feel the pillows and blankets were “clean “. But they were clean to the standards that I wash my own bedding. They were very white, but with some obvious stains that haven’t quite washed out, and one pillow appeared to have something like a blood stain visible through the pillow case. You will want to bring some sort of sleeping bag or liner. I was happy i had one.
The bathroom had no toiletries. No soap, shampoo, bidet/paper. The toilet bowl was black inside and immediately began to smell of sewer gas as i was urinating. It leaked when i flushed it. Gave me quite a start. The stench stayed around for 10-20 minutes or so. After that i didn’t want to do anything else in the bathroom. I used a bottle of water to brush my teeth.
I don’t know. If you’re looking at the outside of the building during the day, it’s what you’d expect. If you’re familiar with the cost of living in Hong Kong, it’s probably also what you’d expect at this price. If you just want a relatively clean place to sleep, and don’t want to spend a lot for hotels that reviewers say have the same issues, this will work. Just make sure you have your sleeping bag liner.
For this price, I’d probably stay there again if they fixed the plumbing.

YYassmine GharbiThey scam you the minute you check in. The receptionist charged me for extra money as he said to improve my room and give me better one. And asked me to record a video recommending the place for other customers.

TtraveLOR_dmdI put 4 in service although ehat I wanna review is the hinesty of the housekeeping. I left my pouch with koney, credit cards and IDs in the room and only realized it when Im already in the airport when I was aBout to board. Upon calling they said they have it in safekeeping so thumbs up in honesty there. Now about sevice the front desk was of little help when asked about uber taxi and semma like he did not know much about it. Not too keen in helping to. As for the space of the room it’s a little too tight and opening your luggage would be a challenge. Not ideal for family
GGuest UserRoom and bathroom were so small and bunk bed doesn’t have curtains. if you are okay with that condition, this will be great stay. I don’t think you’ll find nicer place with similar price easily, not to say impossible.
GGuest UserFriends stayed, said good location clean, introduced me to stay.
I booked a room on Ctrip, saw a review that this like the door scary like **, were stifled, but see a friend, introduced to try.
I contacted the WeChat host one day in advance to get the check-in information. Full password self-check-in is very convenient. I booked a single room, unexpectedly the host upgraded me to a queen room, unlike other guest rooms I had stayed in before, the hostel has a long table in the corridor with a 3M brand water filter for guests to drink, It can instantly come out to 25-100 degrees of warm water without having to boil it yourself, which feels very hygienic. There is also a small refrigerator under the table that can be used, but it is shared.
By the way, the door of the inn, bright and normal, not as scary as the previous reviews said, will come to stay next time.
GGuest UserDecent but a bit seedy. Is not what is portrayed in pics. My decor was a wall-sized lingerie model poster. Cleaning entered my room to replace water and leave Kleenex but did no cleaning or linen refresh. Felt invasive. Wouldn’t recommend to single women. Location is awesome and lady who greeted me was nice. But things didn’t feel super above board

MMs MacoI booked my family for 4 nights, the morning front desk there is very generous because they allowed them to check in early and everything is ok, the room is not bad it is very tidy. On there 3rd night, they did not sleep in the hostel because they have an overnight trip in Macau, and they comeback to the hostel around 2:48am as their last day on the hostel and they go to their room to take some shower and fixed their things, after that they decided to go out to buy some snacks. When they comeback to the hostel around 5:00am ,suddenly they can't access their room, and they told their concern to the nightshift frontdesk. The attending frontdesk is very rude to them. And she even offered a used room to stay (the room is so messed and dirty) so they refused to accept it and who you think will stay in that kind of room. My family wants to rest to their room and asks to do something about it. And then hours past the frontdesk attendant decided to give clean room to rest but her attitude is very rude (they experience bad treatment like shouting and telling them to stay outside) in the morning 9:00am they have the repairman to open the door of our room, they finally opened our room by 12:00nn (our check out is before 11am) it's so hassle to them because they are worried about their belongings and their flight was 10pm that day. They did not enjoy the last day stay on the hostel and i was so disappointed.☹️
