The hostel is a 15-minute walk from Lucerne Train Station. It is in a good location with a shopping mall and coop downstairs. You will get four passwords when you check in by yourself. The women's dormitory is a six-person room with towels provided. Each capsule has a separate password, and each room also needs a password to open the door. So it is a double password and very safe. There are free luggage storage boxes in the corridor. The toilet and bathroom are very clean. Each small compartment in the bathroom has a dry and wet separation area. There are also towels provided to clean the floor of the bathroom after use. The staff are also very helpful. The only thing I am not satisfied with is that there is no socket for charging, only a type c interface and a USB interface, and it is not 24 hours uninterrupted charging. Zimmer und Frühstück entsprachen unseren Erwartungen. Das Zimmer war sauber - das Bad etwas sehr eng bemessen. SPA war soweit auch gut - etwas glitschige Platten im Aussenbereicht. ABER: Beim Einchecken wurde uns mitgeteilt, dass der Lift ausgefallen sei, und am Wochenende keine Reparatur erfolgen würde. Wir, beide nicht mehr ganz jung, hatten unser Zimmer im 4. Stock. Zwar wurde uns Hilfe beim Koffertragen angeboten, aber das Treppenhaus hatte in einer Etage ziemlich kriminell enge, kurze Stufen - nicht gerade ideal. Zudem habe ich gemerkt, dass beim Lift auf allen Stockwerken das Rufknopf-Panel ausgebaut war. Im Parterre fehlt die Etagenanzeige, ebenfalls ausgebaut. Nach einem kurzen Lift-Ausfall sah das Ganze nicht aus - da hätte ein Schild gereicht, allenfalls hätte der Hauptschalter ausgeschaltet werden können. Ich vermute, der Lift war schon lönger defekt, und wird es auch noch eine Weile bleiben? Bei der Abreise hat uns ein anderer Gast berichtet, dass es noch einen funktionierenden Personallift gegeben hätte. Davon hat man uns wohl bewusst nichts gesagt. Dies finde ich eine Zumutung. Ich gehe davon aus, dass es nicht die Schuld der Receptionistin war - sie hatte wohl ihre Weisungen. In der Beschreibung des Hotels hätte man klar aufzeigen können, das der PP CHF 6 pro Tag kostet und auch noch die Kurtaxen direkt im Hotel eingezogen würde. Vielleicht steht es irgendwo - dann allerdings gut zu überlesen. Alles in allem war der Preis recht hoch - für Weggis vermutlich im üblichen Rahmen.

The check-in process was really difficult. We arrived at the hotel around 9 PM. The self check-in machine couldn’t find our booking. We called for help and talked on the phone for a long time, but still couldn’t check in. Luckily (and unluckily), some other guests arrived and had the same problem. Because there were more of us, finally a male staff member agreed to come and check the machine. This staff member kept saying it was our fault – that we entered our name wrong, or that we mixed up the first name and last name. He insisted the machine had worked fine for six months and couldn’t be broken. We tried different combinations of our names many times, but nothing worked. He tried too – and when it still didn’t work, he finally admitted the machine was the problem. Around 11:30 PM, we finally entered the rooms. The next day, after we explained everything, the very friendly and polite ladies at the front desk kindly gave us a 10% discount. Most things about the hotel were great, and the front desk ladies were super helpful. We fully understand that technical problems happen sometimes, and waiting 2.5 hours to check in was also okay for us. We doNOT blame anyone or anything for that. But what we couldn’t understand was how the staff member insisted it was our fault and how he did NOT believe anything we said, and his attitude was a bit rude when we tried to explain that it wasn’t our fault.

Maybe it is a good stay for a short trip if you had quiet neighbors. but I was unlucky to have very noisy guests around and it makes hard to have a good rest.

Swizerland is one of the few destinations in Europe that one would love to travel agian and agian. One of the cheapest hostel options in Luzern, yet also the best. Beautiful common area aside, the bed capsule is one of the comfiest of my 46-day Europe trip. Free huge luggage storage. And the shower facilities are as well-equipped/designed as many Japanese hostel. Location-wise, it’s 1min walk away from bus stop (and few minutes from an awesome glacial museum), super convenient. The only weird thing was the electronic luggage storage failed on me two times, like I couldn’t open it after closing it with the electronic key. One of the times happened past midnight (receptionist had left), leaving me with no toothbrush/facial care to use before sleeping. Not sure what went wrong. But overall I totally enjoyed my stay here. An accommodation option I’d prioritize next time I’m back to Luzern.
