I didn't know that the room type I booked was at the other far end of the apartment building. Not only did I feel cast aside due to the distance, but the lobby area didn't look anything like a hotel. I barely saw any hotel staff around until the day I was checking out.
The room was big, but for the most part, it looked dated, particularly the kitchen and the bathroom. The kitchen was equipped with only a bread toaster, a frying pan, a wooden spoon (that really looked like it was time to replace), two glasses, two sets of cutlery, a teapot, and a small creamer pot. There was no electric kettle, not to mention coffee cups. There was no dish towel and again, not to mention kitchen soap. One cooking hob didn't work while the other kept beeping when switched on and stayed cold.
There was a mineral water dispenser, but the water from the hot tap was only 70% hot. You can't make a cup of coffee or tea with water that isn't hot enough.
I didn't have a good experience when making phone calls to book the 3-hour city transportation. I had the same experience on the first morning when I asked about the breakfast that was to be sent to my room. It was set to be delivered at 9 a.m. I made a call at 9:05 a.m. and was told that they would prepare it right away. When delivered, there were a few missing items: fresh milk for my coffee, orange juice, and a teaspoon for the coffee. I had to make a call again to request them. (I had already mentioned to the staff the night before what I would like to have for my breakfast.) On the next day, I made a call at 6 a.m. to request the same type of breakfast to be sent to my room at 9:30 a.m. Hours later, close to 9:30 a.m., I made a call to room service again to inquire if they were sending my breakfast already. My call was passed from one person to another until the third person who spoke to me seemed unaware of my 'order'. By this time, I was very upset. He said he would attend to it right away and have it delivered to my room in ten minutes. By the time it arrived, it was 9:58 a.m. Nonetheless, the chicken porridge on both mornings were absolutely delicious. The Soto Medan which I ordered as a room service was tasty too.
My sleep on both nights was pretty uninterrupted despite the honking from the heavy traffic. On Sunday, after my Fajr prayer at 6-ish, there was music, announcements, etc., from an event downstairs that lasted for three hours.
During checkout, staff was going to hand me 800,000 IDR until I told him that I had only made a deposit of 500,000. It was then I realized the amount written on the deposit receipt; the number 5 looked more like an 8. That must be why he wanted to return a security deposit of 800,000. He was grateful when I told him about the amount I made as a deposit and I told him to give feedback to his colleague about her handwriting (the one who did my check-in was a female staff).
Overall, this hotel was just alright for me. The lobby, front desk, and the staff at these two parts of the hotel were great.
If there were a next time for me, I'd try the hotel side instead of the apartment, but it's likely there won't be a next time here.
I recently stayed at Swiss-Belinn Medan and had a pleasant experience overall. The hotel is conveniently located in the heart of Medan, making it easy to access nearby shopping areas, restaurants, and local attractions.
The room was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, with all the basic amenities provided. The bed was cozy, and housekeeping did a good job ensuring everything stayed tidy throughout my stay. The staff were friendly, polite, and always willing to assist with any requests, which made the experience even more enjoyable.
Breakfast was quite good, offering a decent variety of local and international dishes. The dining area was also clean and well-organized.
One area for improvement would be the Wi-Fi connection, which could be a bit unstable at times. Additionally, the room size might feel slightly compact for longer stays, but it is still sufficient for short trips.
Overall, Swiss-Belinn Medan offers good value for money, especially for business or short leisure stays. I would consider staying here again on my next visit to Medan.
We have glued to this hotel for the last 2 or 3 yearsđ, everything is good, nothing to complain about. From arrival to check out, all staffs are well trained and functioning well. In this 2026, we have done 2 trips to Medan and stayed here + got the same room as I requested. We are coming back on 20 May and hopefully will get the same room toođđ
The pillows and duvet had a damp, musty smell, and the bathroom drain was a bit slow. The room was also a bit noisy. However, breakfast was great and the service was excellent! Overall, it was decent.
I had a very pleasant stay at Aryaduta Medan. The hotel offers a perfect combination of comfort, convenience, and warm hospitality. The room was clean, spacious, and well maintained, providing a relaxing place to rest. Staff were friendly, attentive, and always ready to assist with a smile. The location is excellent, right in the city center, making it easy to access shopping areas and local attractions. Breakfast was enjoyable with a good variety of local and international dishes. Overall, Aryaduta Medan delivers great value and a comfortable stay. I would gladly return again.
No hot water in the shower, a little bit seems dirty/ broken in the bathroom and it doesnât give the feeling of real luxury, but for this price I think itâs very good still. You have a restaurant which is open 24/7 with friendly servers.
The pool is shared by hotel guests with people who pay for usage of the pool, looks clean enough.
Staff helped to bring luggage to the room.
The location of the hotel is good, it feels a little bit less developed around the hotel tho, but there is a nice mall nearby, maybe 5 minutes with the car.
This hotel was incredibly convenient for my layover. The breakfast spread was great, and it's only a five-minute walk to the departure hall. Since I could explore Medan city the next day, staying here for my first night during the layover was an excellent choice.
* Prime Location. It is right next to the Medan Train Station and literally side-by-side with Centre Point Mall, making shopping and transport incredibly convenient.
* Outstanding Staff: The reception team was professional! I truly appreciated them granting me a late check-out until 1:00 PM.
While the room was on the smaller side, it was clean and well-maintained.
However I noticed the pillow sheets were quite old and had turned a dark, faded color. They definitely weren't white anymore! Housekeeping should retire these linens and ensure only fresh, bright whites are used for guests.
I spotted some small ants near the desk/phone area. A quick treatment from maintenance would help keep the workspace clean.
Perfect for families and wonderful getaway. Only minus point is that its located on Samosir island. Nevertheless, everything you want is catered for and wonderful lake view. Staffs are EXCELLENT! They greet you cheerfully and attend to your needs patiently. KUDOS to the team. Chinese New Year 2025 Vibes!
The environment is good, located in the heart of Medan, close to shopping malls and not far from the Medan city rail station. Taxis are also convenient. It's worth noting that Medan Airport is quite a distance from the hotel, about a 1-hour taxi ride.

Very Good
AAnonymous UserVery nice hotel. Rooftop pool with superb view of the Medan City. In a nice area with plenty of popular restaurants in walking distance. Breakfast have a good variety of local dishes to try. Just the waiting time for checkin and checkout is a little bit long. But undoubtedly will stay here again.

ZZafarullah MuftiThis is my second stay in this hotel. I booked again as my previous experience was good. Reception staff is good and cooperative. Although, I had to face a couple problems which had been resolved, but it was good. The food is very tasty and comperatively reasonable. I would prefer to book again if I happen to come again to Medan.
AAnonymous UserA dated, but generally nice hotel.
Unfortunately, the cleanliness leaves something to be desired, and details and amenities are lacking.
However, the accommodation, with its beautiful view, is perfect for Instagram posts.
The location is quiet and quite remote.
The service is very friendly and attentive, although communication in English was a bit sluggish at times.
Overall, a good stay, but the price is too high.
TTrip.com local guidesThe service from the staff was very decent. But the room was severely lacking. The bed was sunken in âŠ. There was an odor in the hallway. The air conditioning made a lot of noise. Non smoking rooms are indeed available but many guests flout the rules and if youâre unlucky like I was assigned a room next to a very heavy smoker the smoke from his room was entering mine through the gaps in the partition door.
AAnonymous UserI recently stayed at Grand Sakura Hotel in Medan, and overall, it was a decent experienceâespecially for the price.
The hotel is located in a pretty strategic area, making it easy to get around the city and access nearby attractions, shopping spots, and transportation. Many guests also highlight the convenience of its location and accessibility.
The room was spacious and fairly comfortable, with basic amenities like air conditioning, TV, and WiFi. Cleanliness was generally acceptable, although some areas could use better maintenance and attention to detail.
One of the positives is the staffâthey were mostly friendly and helpful during the stay, which made the experience more pleasant. The breakfast offered a decent variety of food, though sometimes items were not refilled quickly during busy periods.
However, there are a few downsides. Some guests have reported issues like noise (especially from air conditioning units), occasional maintenance problems, and inconsistent service at the front desk. The facilities are also quite basic, so donât expect anything luxurious.
Overall, Grand Sakura Hotel is a good budget-friendly option if youâre looking for a simple and convenient place to stay in Medan. Itâs best suited for short stays or travelers who prioritize location and value over luxury.
ĐĐĐČĐłĐ”ĐœĐžĐčRoom with a window, with normal Wi-Fi. There is a large work desk, a large bed. The only thing missing is a refrigerator. This is one of the best hotels in the city, so we can safely recommend it for check-in.
Hearty breakfasts, a restaurant downstairs where you can eat throughout the day for not the highest prices. Good location next to a large shopping center, supermarket and night food outlets.
