Disadvantages: The hotel room and floor are very dusty and not clean. The room was not soundproofed, and other tenants spoke in the corridor, and they heard it clearly. Although the hotel advertises as a five-star hotel, breakfast is actually not as good as the Guest house and three-star hotel we stayed in on this trip in bread, yogurt and so on.
Pros: Breakfast included, bathtub is large. The size of the room is OK in American country style.
When I checked out, oolong was also seen as other tenants signing more than 40,000 local currency dinners in my room number. Fortunately, another service staff immediately said that it was okay.
An extremely cost-effective hotel with a free room upgrade. There is a free swimming pool with a constant temperature of 30 degrees and a hot spring pool. Breakfast is okay, not too many varieties, but good and filling.
This is a very tasteful hotel with very good service. You can overlook the snowy mountains in the distance. The breakfast is of good quality. The fried lamb chops and vegetarian meals for dinner are very good and very good! The front desk and restaurant staff were very kind and when the aurora appeared at night, the front desk promptly informed us to watch the aurora outdoors. If you come to Iceland next time, I hope to stay at the Rand Hotel!
The location of the hotel was good. The facilities are very good, but I don't know why the gym is designed to be together with the spa and the glass in the middle is transparent, so I always feel that I am being watched when I soak in the spa. Dinner and breakfast were fine, except for the price lol.
Clean, sanitary, comfortable, and friendly staff! The hotel is large, with a sunny gym. I saw the aurora at night in this hotel. Parking is free, and there are many types of breakfast. Excellent
Clean modern hotel situated near the entrance to the town. Large room but space mostly in the washroom (if you like big washrooms its great). Breakfast is BIG plus in Iceland, hot cooked American breakfast (bacon, eggs, sauteed mushrooms, bread and toast), lots of juices and milk, three cereals available. Avoid the espresso machine just get the brewed coffee made by the staff. Tea is sachet so dependable. Brilliant stop on the way to the east
The hotel is in a great location, with a lake and snow-capped mountains behind it, which is very beautiful. I also saw faint aurora at night. The room was clean and hygienic, the bed was very comfortable, and the breakfast was particularly rich and delicious. The front desk service was warm and thoughtful. It was the right choice for this self-driving hotel.
The hotels in the town of Vic are all bungalows with wooden structures and floor heating. It doesn't feel cold at all. The room size is okay, the water is sweet, the front desk introduction is very clear, and the breakfast is good.
Breakfast is extraordinary . The room is very clean and tidy . Receptionist is very helpful . Though only one to two restaurants around . Quite a lot people use the hot tubs outside .
Best place if you travel on Golden circle and stay at night !

AAnonymous User💯💯💯 recommend Lindartun Guesthouse!
Stayed here for 1 night on 1st October 2024 after our drive to Highlands and got here when it was already dark but i loved the drive to the junction from the main road to the guesthouse.
It was pretty dark around the area which we thought we could be lucky for aurora sightings but it was cloudy. Luckily, I asked the owner when was the last aurora sighting at the guesthouse and she immediately opened her laptop and that’s when I found put there’s aurora forecast website in Iceland. She was the one that let us know there’s higher chance to spot aurora on the upcoming friday due to clear sky.
Oh btw, for our check-in process, when I first arrived and entered the guesthouse, please take off your shoes by the entrance, and go to reception area infront of the kitchen and take the house phone to call the owner.
We booked room no. 5 which cones with a sofa bed and the long toom was so cute and cozy. This is the cutest guesthouse room design among all 13 accoms across the country during our trip. I really loved it a lot as the room was long and spacious.
The common dining area was really nice and big which I didn’t really spend time here. But I used the kitchen the next morning to boil hot water and make myself my hot chocolate and instant mushroom soup.
Worth my money. Will book again if I visit Iceland again next time!
How I’d described it:
Lindartun (Cute Cozy Homey Vibe)
Room Type: 1 Queen Bed + 1 Sofa Bed
Toilet: Private Bathroom (clean and big)
Perks: Nice kitchen and dining area
Thank you for helping me out with my aurora hunting and for maintaining a really cute and nice guesthouse, owner!
WWl62876465The kitchenware in the room is relatively complete. Since it is difficult to book a hotel at the end of the Aurora season, this hotel is generally good and is recommended. It has an oven and other things, similar to a youth hostel, with bunk beds! It is relatively clean and hygienic, and the seasonings are basically complete; we made steak, French fries, instant noodles, etc.; parking is convenient, remember to wear slippers when entering the door! We have a separate bathroom, and we have to be quiet after 10 o'clock in the evening. The service staff will greet us in advance! It's just that the kitchen will be crowded when there are many people because it is shared, but it's acceptable! If you finish baking food, you have to clean it up by yourself, wash the dishes, etc.!
KKakunkeyuleyajiekuilinThe hotel environment is very good. Clean and comfortable. It is relatively easy to check in. Even if there are two people in one room, it is not small.
Along the Golden Coastline. Convenient to various attractions. I will stay here again next time.
AAnonymous UserPoor maintenance in public areas, but essentials were there and it was clean enough! It's rather a place where the guests rely on each other's friendliness.
환환석Pretty nice and extremely kind reception people. I love them.
As usual like other hotels in Iceland, you should take a ride to get here.
The hotel room was big enough and there were 3 beds in the room although I'm staying by myself.
I love the way how the room is formed. I had two doors, one led me to the yard side and the other one faced the other rooms as well as the reception.
IDK this is the general rule but the shower pressure was horrible. It took more than 30 minutes to take a shower.
Speaking of the Hot tub, it was pretty small and adorable. But if you have plans to visit either Blue Lagoon or Secret Lagoon, You'd better skip this Hot tub.
GGuest UserThe room and the shared area are clean but one disadvantage is that you can hear each movement from your upstairs or outside your room, even they walked. Besides, the self- service laundry is a bit overpriced for us although maybe I do not have much idea on how the market price in Iceland shall be. The location is quite ok and parking is convenient. And there is sufficient space for the shared area to no matter enjoy your meal or take a rest. By the way, the bed is too soft for us and the amenities in the room is quite simple especially the coat hanger.
GGuest UserThe room was small but adequate. The bathroom too small, with a tiny sink. There was no bath soap or shampoo. The shower curtain was mildewed at the bottom. There was a teapot shared by the four units in our building, but no coffee, just sugar. The restaurant was great for dinner, but the included breakfast was poor. We were given a tray with preselected items. The croissant and coffee were excellent. I passed on the oatmeal and oat bread, which left a light continental breakfast. Poor value compared to the other guesthouses we encountered in Iceland.
CCHANBest stay in Iceland! We received a super warm welcome upon our arrival. The hosts welcomed us with their homemade chocolate coffee cakes and cookies. The room was lovely and cosy and had an equipped kitchen and also a dining area. The hostel lobby also has a large kitchen where you may use any of the cooking supplies they provided. Each room had an easy access to the backyard with a lit up Christmas tree. The front of the hostel had an outdoor built hot tub for guests to use.
Overall it was exceptionally nice, we loved our stay at The Garage.

GGuest UserNice big room, beds are very good, pillow ok (soft). Shower etc. also clean and do not smell of sulfur. Good and very extensive breakfast. Restaurant is good and has tasty meals for a reasonable price. Service and staff friendly and helpful. Location is remote. Supermarket is far away.
Diamond beach Is relatively close (30 minutes).
