The room is quite big. The location is good, close to the walking Street, easy to find something to eat. The room was clean. No parking, so we have to park at the public parking and walk to the hotel about 10 minutes. Parking fee quite expensive.
After visiting the Lofoten Islands, Tromsø felt more like an optional stop than a must-see.
Location: The hotel's location is good, close to the pier.
Room: The hotel corridors and rooms looked quite dated, not at all like a five-star hotel. The view outside the window was nice, especially the outdoor scenery from the large windows in the hallway was beautiful.
Service: Luggage storage after check-out at this hotel is self-service. They don't provide a storage receipt. The room was piled high with luggage, and the door was left open, so it really depended on how trusting the guests were.
Taking the cable car in Tromsø to see the city view from the mountain was great, but everything else was just average. As for the Northern Lights, you can see them in both Tromsø and the Lofoten Islands during winter.
Make sure to book this hotel in advance! I booked it for 1500 (presumably NOK) in November, and by February, the price had jumped to 2300. The room is indeed small, but considering its location and the cost of living in Northern Europe, I think it's excellent value for money – much better than Paris. The hotel is right in the city center, very close to McDonald's, and there's a large supermarket nearby. The #40 bus stop, just 200 meters away, takes you directly to the airport (30 NOK, you can tap and pay on board). Most importantly, absolutely add the breakfast – it might just be the best quality meal you'll have in Tromsø.
A great place to stay, though the uphill walk to the building can be a bit challenging. The property is clean, even with shared toilets and showers. I appreciated the shared kitchen and the free laundry. The complimentary cookies, coffee, and tea were a nice touch and really made a difference. Oliver at reception was especially helpful and provided plenty of useful information. I would definitely recommend staying here
The hotel is near the airport, an easy 20-minute walk if the weather's good. On a snowy day, we opted for the bus to the airport, which was super convenient. The hotel was quite busy overall, and breakfast started at 6:30 AM, the earliest I've seen in Norway! The breakfast selection was actually quite varied, though the layout was a bit cramped. You do need to return your own tray. The coffee machine was very easy to use. There's also a stunning observation deck right next to the breakfast area.
Suitable for two families, you can show your skills in the apartment kitchen to improve food; the supermarket is opposite the apartment; the black pizza on the side of the supermarket tastes good. The room can also overlook the Red Church on the mountain.
Health is very often
Hotel location is not bad
4 minutes walk to the airport, there will be a car
6 minutes walk to the world's northern McDonald's
(28/10/2024)
Service is also very good
Front desk staff with a smile
We also provided free Waffle materials on the day we stayed.
Unfortunately, we're going back to the batter.
Facilities are also regular
The only thing that can be improved is the taste of the hotel room
Will have a (damp?) smell.
Overall, it was quite good. The heating was excellent, the bed was comfortable, and there were even kitchen utensils for cooking.
However, it didn't quite reach four-star standards; it felt more like an apartment. The bathroom was a bit basic, and the room lighting was a little lacking.
Overall, it was still very cozy, the receptionist was very welcoming, and luggage storage was free. Gingerbread was also available at the front desk.
The room was a little unexpectedly small, but the hotel staff was very warm and thoughtful, and the breakfast was also good. If I had to make a suggestion, it would be that you need to use a card to lock the door, which is not common in other hotels, and it is easy to close the door and leave. In short, it was a very good stay experience
The service was great. It's close to the city center, about a 10-minute walk to the northernmost McDonald's 🍔, and the Arctic Gate is just 3-5 minutes on foot behind the hotel. The hotel's 12th floor has an open-air rooftop, offering a fantastic view of the cable car 🚡. If you're lucky enough to catch the Northern Lights, it's an excellent viewing spot with an unobstructed sky. The hotel breakfast was a bit monotonous (Western-style), though smoked salmon was plentiful, and there were some local specialties. I found the first-floor restaurant not to be great value for money for dinner. The 10th-floor restaurant requires a reservation in advance, and if you get a window seat, you can see the Arctic Cathedral ⛪️ across the fjord. The food there was delicious and much better value than the 1st-floor restaurant. In Tromsø, it was the best restaurant I've been to (in my personal opinion). The hotel lobby on the first floor has a very convenient taxi calling machine; you can wait in the lobby and then directly hop into the taxi when it arrives at the door.

Very Good
AAmy TsukaharaThe atmosphere was lively and very festive. The staff were incredibly polite and attentive and the stay felt very luxurious. The room was also clean and spacious, although the positioning of the hanging lamps was a bit awkward and I sometimes found my shoulder hitting one when getting into and out of bed.
The shower was also very large and decent water pressure and temperature control.
The breakfast was amazing! Many options and very delicious!
The view from the room was spectacular and the staff accommodated my request for a higher room.
The only downsides were the laundry service is incredibly expensive, which was shocking as the hotel I had started in prior to this one did it for free. Also, room cleaning did not come to room one day and I had to make two requests to the front desk to get a fresh towel. It took quite a long time, but eventually did get me a new towel in the evening. The staff apologized profusely for the inconvenience.
Overall, the stay was amazing.
PPopo Lee123The check-in and check-out process was so pleasant and fast. I truly enjoyed the breakfast spread. So hearty and wholesome. The view and the location of this hotel is excellent as it is nearby to all the attractions. I even walked to the Arctic Cathedral along the bridge but most of all I got a free room upgrade to the Presidential Suite with the most amazing view and space. Thank you for making my stay in Tromsø phenomenal!
GGuest UserThe room was small, and there were very few power outlets. The USB socket on one side of the bedside was broken, but I was able to borrow a power strip with three outlets from the front desk, and they told me there were more outlets under the bed. Without that power strip, there would only have been two outlets plus one USB port available by the window.
If you leave early, the hotel front desk offers a simple breakfast, which was decent. During normal breakfast hours, gluten-free options are also available.
The shower stall in the bathroom was very small, making it a bit awkward for a woman to shower comfortably. The floor tiles in the shower had a steep slope for drainage, so I had to really grip with my feet to avoid bumping into the right-angled, double-door shower enclosure.
The front desk staff member who checked me in on the first day was quite good; she informed us that the aurora would be very strong that night and the next, advising us to keep an eye on the sky.

GGuest UserThe hotel is in a very convenient location, making it easy to get around the city. It is well-equipped with basic essentials for simple cooking, which is a big plus for travellers who prefer to prepare their own meals. There is also a supermarket located just next to the hotel, and a bus stop only a stone’s throw away, making daily travel very hassle-free.
However, the room size is quite small. Once we opened up our luggage, there was barely any space left to walk around comfortably. This may be something to consider for guests travelling with larger suitcases or planning a longer stay.
Overall, the stay was practical and convenient mainly due to the excellent location and useful facilities, but the limited room space did affect our comfort.
AAnonymous UserThe location is super convenient, right in front of the cathedral. Many day tours meet up downstairs, which is fantastic! The hotel breakfast was also very satisfying. I was so happy to see the Northern Lights in Tromsø! You can consider a day tour or just walk to the pier. As long as it's a sunny day with a high Aurora Index, you'll be fine!
PPattarada KamplasiriThe room is quite big. The location is good, close to the walking Street, easy to find something to eat. The room was clean. No parking, so we have to park at the public parking and walk to the hotel about 10 minutes. Parking fee quite expensive.
GGuest UserA hotel that is located conveniently to many pick up points for tours. Grocery stores, 7-11 and restaurants are also located nearby. Simple amenities such as shampoo/body soap, towels, hairdryer are available. Love it that there is breakfast and dinner that comes together with your stay. Nothing too fancy but good enough to fill your bellies considering the restaurants are quite pricey. You will need to get hot water on your own at the dispenser as there are no kettle in the room. Reception was always friendly in answering any questions, and even helped with my cab booking to the airport. Worth it for the price, would stay here again.
GGuest UserThe hotel is outdated and is scheduled to be refurbished in 2025 or 2026.
The lobby is ”super” small with no design theme (for what that matters).
My room was small and poorly laid-out...plus, the bed was so soft it was uncomfortable and I knew my back would suffer, so I placed the thin topper on the floor and slept on that.
Once housekeeping left at the end of the day you could not obtain extra blankets or pillows...all I had was one small, rectangular pillow....I did not get a good sleep!
The gym could only be accessed by climbing a narrow, winding set of stairs...I never got there.
The front office staff was amazing...so pleasant and accommodating....despite all the demands placed on them.
I was thankful I was only staying for 1 night.
GGuest UserWe arrived in the evening, reception was not open but instructions to where our room and key are were sent in advance. Due to the weather (arrived during heavy snow) we struggled a bit to find our room, which was unpleasant, but once we found it our stay was very nice. The room had everything we needed, bathroom simple and clean, kitchen organized and simple with a stove, dishwasher, fridge and everything, and a very nice shared area. The location is very close to Finnsnes, but buses don't run very often, and not in the evening; so plan in advance if you count on using public transportation. On the up side, when the bus does run, there is a stop right outside.
All in all, great value for money. Thank you for a very pleasant stay!
