"Excellent hotel. I went here last week and was going to give it a lower rating, but having stayed in a hotel this week that was almost 3x the price with none of the amenities I have a new appreciation for it. My room at Ramada had a complete kitchen with stove, dishwasher, sink, fridge, kettle, cutlery etc. It had good A/C, and even a heater, though I didn't need to use it. Clothes iron and ironing board were very appreciated. Having a washing machine and dryer takes it over the top -- this room really has everything I would ever need during a hotel stay. The staff at the front counter were very friendly and helpful, and the room was warm with excellent soundproofing. The location is great, just a short walk to the CBD. The one downside of room was that a duvet from the closet was dirty, with a yellow stain. Which is gross, but overall I would absolutely stay here again."

"The location and room type were fantastic! Being right next to the train station and ferry was so convenient, and I loved being able to walk along the beach. However, the room had a very unpleasant, damp odor—almost like old carpet or pet accidents. It didn’t feel clean at all, and I actually had to buy my own room spray to make it bearable. Great spot, but the room hygiene needs urgent attention."

"The room was just what we wanted, plus perfect to all the sites we wanted to visit within walking distance, highly recommended but a little maintenance is needed in the room we had, the toilet continued to run after flushing until one of us hit the flush button again, (half flush) the shower leaked at one of the connections ( must have been known as it showed calcium buildup) otherwise it was brilliant…"

"This was a short stopover in Wellington to board the early morning ferry to Picton as the hotel location was perfect for the city and ferry.. However we were very pleasantly surprised with the quality of the Movenpick. The rooms were clean and comfortable with all of the amenities you would expect and more. We were delighted with the complimentary chocolate buffet at 4pm most unexpected but delicious. The staff were also very helpful and friendly."

"The hostel is about a 20-minute bus ride from the airport, and the bus stop is just a block away. Right across the street is New World, which is super convenient for buying groceries and daily necessities. However, I felt the cleanliness was just okay; the sheets weren't very clean. In the four-person room, it was a bit difficult to open luggage."

"A great hotel exemplified by the very strong hospitality offered upon check-in. Room upgrade offered for a very small fee, checks undertaken and even a free, warmed cookie.
Upgraded room was spacious and comfortable and the hotel is located a 2 minute walk from the waterfront and a selection of great eateries. Breakfast was very good and lots to choose from. Would definitely use again."

"Really conveniently located hotel and good sized room. Really lovely helpful, staff on reception. I had booked an interior room with no window so was pleasantly surprised to have a ceiling skylight. Unfortunately the surfaces and amenities (kettle, glasses, spoons) were covered in dust. I thought it might be a ventilation issue as the high window probably doesnt open, but when I ran my finger over the desk it was a thick layer so not sure it had been cleaned for a while. I was only staying one night so didn't bother complaining but did start wheezing in the night so wish I had said something. Easily fixed for future guests with proper dusting!"

"We arrived late and tired after a 4 hour drive and climbing Mt Taranaki. We must have looked a right state!
Really appreciated the staff letting us leave the car on the driveway so we could get a shower and go to bed to catch our early morning ferry over the the South Island straight away! The check out next morning was quick and they had our car ready to leave us.
A warm shower and comfy bed has never been more welcome!"

刘刘Hotel location is very good, in the center of Wellington, the parking lot is on the upper floor, to go up a steep slope, parking fee 15 NZ / day. The interior decoration is a bit antique and has a sense of history. The downside is that I arrived at the hotel on Christmas Eve, and the front desk was closed (should be at 7 pm), saying that I sent an email to me, but I didn't find it in fact. Still the cleaning guy, contacted me, opened the key box, and got the key.

MM_PorschaI stayed at Boulcott Suites for three nights and overall had a pleasant experience. The location is excellent — plenty of eateries nearby (many Asian options), a New World supermarket just around the corner, and Cuba Street all within walking distance. For those driving, private parking is available at NZD 29 per night, though it does need to be booked in advance by calling ahead.
The room itself was well-equipped, with nearly everything listed on their website provided. Amenities included tea, coffee, hot chocolate, an infusion tea selection, a coffee machine, kettle, washing machine, clothing rack, clean towels, shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, and a hair dryer. There’s also a convenient kitchenette with a stove and full set of utilities if you’d like to prepare meals. Do note that some basics like a toothbrush, toothpaste, shower cap, and bottled water aren’t supplied. I just drank the tap water, which seemed perfectly fine.
On the downside, I felt the room was a little dusty, which took away slightly from the otherwise good presentation. I had also requested a baby cot during booking and was told it would be included, but it never arrived in the room. It wasn’t a big issue for me personally since the bed was large enough to co-sleep with my baby, but it’s worth mentioning for others who might rely on that service.
All in all, Boulcott Suites is a convenient and comfortable choice in the heart of Wellington, with great amenities and an ideal location. With a little more attention to detail on housekeeping and guest requests, it would be close to perfect.

Fruit and small grocery across the street from front door. 500 meters from Cuba street and lots of eclectic shops. Excellent value , room was large and nice. Love the staff there. BBenny MarcusAura Hotel is located right next to the vibrant Cuba street and Courtenay place. The room on level 2, block J was spacious and in great condition.
However, the first room I was assigned in Block 'N' had a strong, suffocating smell and lacked windows. I called the front desk to request a room change since I couldn't find any windows in that room or the dining area, only to be informed that all blocks in the hotel were windowless. As I walked back to the front desk, I noticed a block with open windows. The front desk staff wasn't happy with me for checking other blocks and also annoyed when I informed him that I knocked on neighboring 5 empty rooms in the Block, without any response, to enquire if they experience the smell too. The personnel claimed that the block I saw was the only one with windows and was fully booked. I returned to my initial room, but the odor persisted, prompting me to return the keys and applied for a refund. After almost an hour, we inspected the room again with the receptionist, and surprisingly, the smell had vanished. Despite this strange encounter, I still opted for a room change. I was given another room in block 'J', which, while also lacking windows, it had a better odour. As I explored the floor after settling in, I discovered several other blocks with windows.
This experience reflected very poor service and dodgy misleading information from the front desk. The first six uploaded images are of Block N, while the subsequent images, beginning with the keys, showcase Block J.

EExploring our one precious worldStayed one night at James Cook Hotel Grand Chancellor for a conference held onsite.
Check-in staff were friendly and efficient. The hotel has three separate lift banks servicing different areas — if you’re unfamiliar with Wellington, definitely ask staff to explain the easiest exit route to the city. It makes a big difference.
Breakfast was a very large buffet with plenty of options, though I’ve experienced better quality elsewhere.
The hotel itself is older but has solid bones. Perfectly adequate for a work overnight stay. For personal travel I’d probably choose somewhere with more atmosphere, however it felt safe and comfortable.
One odd feature: some rooms face an internal terrace/window area — remember to close your curtains as people can see straight in.
Bed was clean and well made, the room was tidy, though the carpet is showing its age. The shower had excellent pressure and plenty of hot water — a highlight.
Overall: reliable, practical conference accommodation rather than a destination stay.

The hotel has an old style elevator which is cool.
The room comes w a heater and a face basin with a mirror which is too high unless you are 1.9m to 2m tall. Lol.
A fridge, a kettle , coffee, tea , cocoa powder and milk for coffee are provided.
It also provide a bath soap and towel.
The hotel entrance are locked after 5pm or 6pm for the safety of the hotel guests as there are no receptionist after 22:00hours.
Cons :- The shower area light auto switched off 3-5mins thus it’s scary when u are still showering , the whole place turned dark.
Both the shower cubicle and the common area in the shower area are scary when they are in total darkness. This is negative as not the right way to save electricity I guess and risk falls as well.
U can parked your luggage after you checkout for free as well.
Lastly the hotel is 20min walk from the Railway station or NZD11 on Uber. And walking distance to the Pier for some high end dining as well as nice eateries within the city centre.

CConstance_HuoLocation-wise, it's right by Wellington train station, making it a great choice if you're arriving by train or heading to London.
Facilities: They're quite old. The air conditioning was one of those large, vintage units I'd never seen before, and it was incredibly noisy, so I just turned it off. The room had a microwave and cutlery, and surprisingly, a mini-bar – which you usually don't find in hotels at this price point. However, there was a snag: no price list for the mini-bar. While I knew the bottled water in the fridge wouldn't be free, I was still surprised to be charged $7 upon checkout (when a similar bottle is around $2.50 at the supermarket).
Service: The downstairs restaurant has long operating hours. I was able to order a delicious burger after a late check-in, and grab a coffee and a pastry to go during an early checkout. Most of my positive impression comes from that restaurant.
