Autumn leaves in Kurashiki

🍂 Kurashiki is a small city in the southern part of Okayama Prefecture, Japan. It takes 15 minutes to get there by taking the JR Sanyo Line or Hakubi Line from Okayama Station. Another 15-minute walk will take you to the famous Kurashiki Bikan area. The Bikan area has been the center of Kurashiki since ancient times, and the prosperous shipping industry brought by the Kurashiki River made this place wealthy early on. 🍁 Kurashiki City has preserved buildings from the Edo period. In 1968, the 'Kurashiki City Traditional Beauty Preservation Ordinance' was enacted, and the government and citizens have worked together to maintain these old buildings intact to this day. In 1979, the Kurashiki Bikan area was designated as a 'Traditional Building Group Preservation Area'. 🍂 Kurashiki is beautiful in summer, with greenery everywhere, and girls are walking around in yukata and geta.
