Fushimi Inari - Kyoto

Fushimi Inari is one of the most important landmarks and tourist attractions of Kyoto you will fall in love with the visual effect of red pillars forming like a endless tunnel. It is not very far from down town and can be reached by metro. In fact is less than ten minutes walk from the closest metro station. This place was built to honor Inari, the Shinto god of rice. The Fushimi Inari Shrine itself is made up of 32,000 sub-shrines. The recommended sightseeing time is between one to two hours. It's a very nice walk, and the view from the top is beautiful.
