Discover Shanghai | Fengxian Guhua Garden, the red leaves here are also beautiful
Fengxian hides a low-key garden with pavilions, towers, and late autumn in the south of the Yangtze River. Although it is niche, it is said to be from the hand of garden design master Mr. Chen Congzhou. Here, there are both the ancient meanings of Jiangnan gardens and some modern park facilities such as boats and children's play facilities. Of course, what attracts attention in autumn and winter is a large area of red maple and ginkgo.

【Take a few points for shooting red leaves!】
Equipment: This shoot uses Lumix S1+24-70F2.8 lens
①Photo timing | Mid to late December, red leaves look better under sunny sunshine
②Photo composition | Red leaves as the foreground or background with people and ancient buildings
③Clothing match | People wear simple and elegant clothes to match red or yellow leaves
-
【Guhua Garden Highlights】
① Red maple, ginkgo
The red leaves around the antique buildings are interesting with the buildings, especially near the Wanghaige, hin out of the picture!
② Garden
There are Wanqing Garden, Qiu Shui Garden, Xing Garden and Wanghai Pavilion. The corridors of the Wanqing Garden are tortuous and the rockery is strange. In the afternoon, the light is soft, and the light and shadow of the garden and the red leaves are more matched.
③ Ancient bridge
The first bridge of Nantang with a history of 300 years, a cultural protection unit in Fengxian District. There is also the Shuangting Bridge, the iconic building of Guhua Garden, with two tall pavilions on the bridge, and the weeping willows at the bridge head are like the bangs of a girl.
④ Boating
There are East Lake and West Lake inside, where you can row a small boat of friendship. There are also parent-child amusement facilities, which are also suitable for walking babies.

Without visiting the orchard, how would one know the splendor of spring, right?
🌸 Shanghai has once again reached the most beautiful season of the year. Taking advantage of the clear weather, I chose to visit and take photos at Shanghai's Gucun Park 📷
🌟 Recommended route:
Gate 3 -> Rockery Waterfall -> Wanqing Garden -> Shuangting Bridge -> Fengting Bridge -> Gucun Pavilion -> Boat Dock -> Grand Stage -> Wanghai Pavilion -> Sannü Hill -> Shuinnuan Pavilion -> Gate 1
📝 The park is located in Fengxian, Shanghai. Due to its geographical location, it's not as bustling as the city center. But overall, the visit is very comfortable, not too crowded, and by simply strolling around the outer loop, you can cover most of the attractions spicy~

A great place for leisure and entertainment on weekends—Guhua Garden
It's a fantastic park, named after the concept of 'ancient splendid pavilion'. The environment is beautiful and comfortable, with pavilions, towers, and many historical relics such as the ancient opera stage, Wanqing Yuan, Qiushui Garden, Sannv Gang, Sannv Ci Q, and the first bridge over the South Pond, all of which exude a strong sense of historical and cultural atmosphere. The Shuangting Bridge is very beautiful, adding color to the wide expanse of the lake.

Guhua Park
Guhua Park is located in the suburbs of Shanghai: Fengxian District, and is a free, less-known park in Shanghai. Although the park is not large, it is cleverly laid out with bridges, pavilions, terraces, towers, and pavilions densely distributed among the streams. The flowers, plants, and trees complement each other, forming a style characteristic of Ming and Qing architecture, giving people a feeling of simplicity, elegance, and tranquility.
There are many scenic spots in the park suitable for taking photos, including the Late Qing Garden (Image 5), the First Bridge of Nantang (Image 6), Shuangting Bridge (Images 2, 3), and so on, among which Shuangting Bridge is the iconic landscape of the park.
Shuangting Bridge, also known as the Tongxin Bridge, is where the literary and military champions met. They went from competing with each other to letting bygones be bygones, symbolizing unity and reconciliation. From a distance, the twin pavilions stand gracefully in the center of the bridge, like a beauty looking into a mirror over the lake.
Strolling by the lakeside in the park, the willows sway with the wind, showing their graceful figures, and the reflection of Shuangting Bridge in the lake is clearly visible. The scenery on both sides of the road is well-arranged, making everything feel so beautiful and peaceful!
Location: No. 87 Jiefang Middle Road, Fengxian District, Shanghai
Transportation: The park is far from the city center. You can drive there, or follow the plan below to reach it:
① Take the subway line 1 to Xinzhuang subway station, then walk more than seven hundred meters from exit 2 to Xinzhuang bus station
② Take the bus route Hongqiao Hub 5 to Huan Cheng East Road Jiefang East Road bus station, then walk more than three hundred meters to arrive

The closer to nature, the closer to happiness, leisure and tranquility quietly emerge
Super beautiful! Not too big or small, there is a lot to see and it won't tire you out. There are many lawns where you can sit and look at the sky for an afternoon, which is especially suitable for bringing children or npy to appreciate nature on weekends. The day we went was a lively yet tranquil Saturday, full of people but not crowded, with cute kids playing with bubble machines, netizens meeting up, and old men dancing in suits...
Willows brushing the water, light reflecting the red flowers, algae at the bottom of the lake swaying aimlessly, time slows down at this moment. A familiar sense of leisure and tranquility quietly emerges. I slowly recognize that it seems like the days four years ago are waving at me. When I look back at these photos, there is a moment when I feel a snap in my body--the broken life and memories finally connect today.

Autumn beauty in Guhua Garden
Guhua Garden is located in Nanqiao City, Fengxian District, Shanghai. It is a garden designed by architect Chen Congzhou, who gathered the essence of Jiangnan gardens. Guhua Garden has a unique concept, with pavilions, towers, and buildings densely distributed among small bridges and flowing water, and flowers, grass, and trees interspersed, forming a garden with the architectural style of the Qingming Dynasty, giving people a sense of simplicity, elegance, and tranquility.
Guhua Garden, together with Guyi Garden in Jiading, Guzhong Garden in Nanhui, and Gusong Garden in Jinshan, is known as the 'Four Ancient Gardens in the Suburbs of Shanghai'. In the West Lake of Guhua Garden, when the autumn is in full swing, there is a row of colorful trees on the opposite side of the lake, which is a colorful background wall composed of pine trees, camphor trees, weeping willows, ginkgo trees, red maples, maple trees, and Hibiscus mutabilis. The breeze is coming slowly, and the water is calm.
On the south bank of the West Lake, there is a stone slab bridge extending into the water, with Shui Xiang Pavilion, Shui Lu Pavilion, and Shui Ming Pavilion built on the bridge. These three pavilions are arranged in a product shape, so they are also called 'Product Pavilion', which is a highlight of Guhua Garden.
Red maple, curved bridge three pavilions, colorful trees, play a picture of rich autumn colors, pleasing to our eyes.

A 'giant' park in Shanghai has become popular, boasting a 300-year-old ancient bridge, now open for free
The bustling Shanghai, a city known as the 'Magic City', is full of modern urban charm and profound historical heritage. Skyscrapers and historical sites are intertwined, showing both the unique charm of the city and the importance of its history and culture. In such a place, a park is gradually becoming popular, it is the Guhua Park located in Fengxian District.
Guhua Park, a park with an area of over 100,000 square meters, is known as the 'giant' park in Shanghai. It is not only huge in size, but also has unique charm. The design of the park is full of classical charm, as if you have traveled to the Jiangnan water town in the Ming and Qing Dynasties.
Rockeries, flowing water, courtyards, ancient bridges, and ancient trees together form a beautiful picture. Here, you can feel the tranquility and beauty of the Jiangnan water town, and also appreciate the history and culture of Shanghai.
The history of Guhua Park can be traced back to 1736 AD, when it was not on this land, but on the south side of Lianfeng in Nantang. However, with the passage of time, this ancient bridge with a history of 300 years has been relocated here, becoming a beautiful landscape of the park. Standing on the bridge, you can see the beautiful scenery of the lake and feel the heaviness of history and the unique charm of the Jiangnan water town.
In addition to the ancient bridge, Guhua Park also has many attractions worth visiting. The most famous is the 'Autumn Water Garden'. This garden with an area of 1,300 square meters is built on a small island in the lake, mainly with brick and wood structures, and the courtyard is surrounded by lake water. Here, you can enjoy the beauty of the pond, feel the natural breath of the rockery, and also walk between osmanthus and banana trees, enjoying a sense of tranquility and comfort.
In addition to natural landscapes, Guhua Park also has many cultural landscapes. These landscapes are full of historical and cultural heritage, allowing tourists to feel the history and culture of the city while enjoying the beautiful scenery. Here, you can see the fusion of ancient architectural styles and modern design concepts, adding a unique charm to the park.
What's worth mentioning is that this 'giant' park now implements a free policy, allowing every citizen to enjoy the tranquility and comfort brought by this beautiful land.
Whether you are playing with children or walking with friends, Guhua Park is an excellent choice. Here, you can feel the beauty of nature and the heaviness of history, and also enjoy a rare tranquility and relaxation.
For this historic park, everyone has different views. Some people may be attracted by its historical heritage, and some people may be moved by its natural scenery. For me, Guhua Park is a park full of charm and stories.
It not only shows the historical and cultural heritage of Shanghai, but also shows the beauty and tranquility of the Jiangnan water town. Walking, playing, and relaxing here are all a rare enjoyment.
In general, Guhua Park is a park worth visiting. It not only has beautiful natural scenery and profound cultural heritage, but also has a free opening policy. Whether you want to feel the breath of history or relax in nature, this is an excellent choice. Shanghai, China
