I understand that this is the largest hotel in Kuantan and it is imposing. They decorated enthusiastically for Christmas. The rooms are large enough with clean linens and a firm mattress. The location is great since it's across the road from the largest mall. The coffee lounge was satisfactory. The main problem area was that almost no one spoke basic English well enough to understand simple requests. They try and mean well but only a few could understand what I wanted. This was very frustrating. We stayed in this hotel three years ago as well, and there was not this problem at that time. Also, the safe in our room did not work.

The room was spacious, perfect for a small family. The highlight, of course, was the view, sea and pool views that were absolutely lovely. One night was definitely not enough. Just open the window and you’ll feel the sea breeze; so calm and so beautiful. Breakfast was fairly normal, nothing fancy. If you’re not local, I’d recommend going out for breakfast around Kuantan town, there are so many great options to choose from. For dinner, Ana Ikan Bakar Petai is just right in front of the hotel. It’s the most famous restaurant in Tanjung Lumpur and within walking distance. Definitely will come again for a short vacay.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay at Hyatt Regency Kuantan, especially the ambience and hospitality. However, there are a few areas that require attention. Cons / Areas for Improvement: 1. Water pressure was quite slow, especially for the shower. When turned to hot water, the pressure increased, but once switched to cold, it became extremely weak. 2. There was water maintenance work happening during our stay. Although the hotel assured that everything was under control, it did affect our comfort while on holiday. 3. We noticed a small clump of dust on the floor. While it was minor, as we were staying with a 2-year-old toddler, it raised concerns as children tend to put things into their mouth. Housekeeping may need to be more thorough. 4. There should be better control of wild monkeys, especially around the parking area. I was chased and nearly bitten, which was quite frightening and unsafe for guests. Pros / What We Appreciate: 1. Excellent service recovery — I forgot to disable the “Do Not Disturb” sign but informed the front desk to clean the room. The housekeeping staff called first to ask for permission before entering, which shows professionalism and true 5-star service standards. 2. The hotel’s surroundings are beautiful, clean, and very calming — truly breathtaking. 3. The beach is very clean and conveniently located right next to the hotel. 4. Large swimming pools (two pools available), so it never felt crowded. 5. Staff were extremely friendly, polite, and always willing to help. Conclusion: Hyatt Regency Kuantan has great potential with its beautiful location, facilities, and outstanding staff. With improvements in water system management, housekeeping checks, and wildlife control, the overall guest experience would be even better.

We had a wonderful stay at the hotel, enjoying the beautiful and comfortable environment, as well as the kids-friendly facilities and easy access to the beach. However, we did notice that the swimming pool area had some safety concerns. There were broken tiles and cracks around the swimming pool, which could pose a safety risk, especially for children. Additionally, we noticed some yellow stains on the bedsheets. Overall, it was a pleasant stay, but attention to these maintenance issues would definitely improve the experience.

I had a nice time in The Chateau Sp & Wellness Resort. It's located in the hills outside Kuala Lumpur where it's cool and when I was there it was raining which made it even cooler. Breakfast was good, specially the first day when there was more choice. In the evening there was apparently another service offered in my room but I wasn't informed about that so I had no idea why someone was ringing my bell and calling me. It would be good if all services would be explained very well.

Very old building, old facilities.. but overall still a good stay 1. The escalator was too old, it took at least 1min to get the door opened.. please upgrade a better lift 2. We stayed in Fushcia building, big room, with living room, dining area, a queen size bed, a dressing area, spacious bathroom, a bathtub - cost for RM290/night on a weekend. I feel is worthy. Given shampoo, shower gel, lotion, muji toothbrush and colgate toothpaste, shower cap, vanity kit and sanitary bag. Also, in the cupboard, there is laundry bag and slippers. Only the heater will automatically stop working after sometimes when we shower. Overall worth a 3/5 for me. 3. Talking about the activities, limited. No shows, no fun, no vibes. Suggest to revamp and reopen to attract more local tourists. Current situation is, most locals come for one day trip and foreign tourists only will choose to stay here. Without fun activities, there will not be much reputation built

I enjoyed my stay at Shahzan Hotel Kuantan, especially as a business traveller needing a quick rest. The hotel is centrally located in town, making it very convenient with easy access to food and nearby amenities. The breakfast selection was basic but reasonable for the price. The air conditioning was super cold, and the shower water pressure was excellent—definitely a plus after a long day. Underground parking is free, though spaces are quite limited. Overall, it was a comfortable stay, and I would consider staying here again in the future. 😊

had a pleasant stay overall, but the pool could definitely be improved. When we arrived, the staff were still in the middle of cleaning the pool. Even after they were done, the water was still a bit cloudy and didn’t look fully clean. Hopefully the hotel can maintain the pool better because everything else about the stay was good

LlikoniaThe best stay ever! Lepas ni memang duduk sini je 😍 tempat selesa & bersih! Customer service terbaik! Disebabkan kami stay dekat sini tanpa dirancang, jadi nak taknak kena basuh baju kotor. Yup ada washer & dryer 2in1. So basuh semalaman, ingatkan esok tu dah kering. Rupanya dryer unit kita orang ada problem, tapi customer service sangat pantas bagi solusi! Staff tolong keringkan dekat unit lain & kita orang dapat check out lambat sampai baju kering tanpa bayar extra! Thank you so much! My family dari Sarawak nak repeat duduk sini lagi! Harga pun berbaloi walaupun time cuti sekolah ya! Yang penting cantik!

MmangosellerI stayed at Crockfords Hotel Genting in early October 2025 and was genuinely disappointed by the level of service — especially for a hotel that claims to be Malaysia’s leading luxury property. On 3 October, I approached the concierge Duty Manager around 9:40am regarding the hotel Wi-Fi, which kept showing an “invalid credentials” error. Instead of taking the initiative to verify the problem — which turned out to be something as simple as incorrect login details given at check-in — he insisted that the IT team would need to come into my room to fix it. Later in the day, another staff member resolved the issue within minutes by simply checking the credentials. It’s baffling how the Duty Manager couldn’t do something that basic. Throughout my stay, I also noticed that many of the staff seemed lost and unsure of how to handle simple situations — almost like the blind leading the blind. There was a clear lack of coordination and communication among them. The breakfast experience was another major letdown. I had breakfast there for three consecutive days, and throughout, the food was never hot — the noodles in soup were the only consistently warm item served. To make matters worse, the staff did not communicate properly among themselves. On one morning, we were told to wait while a table by the window was being cleared for us. After waiting a good five minutes, another group of guests was allowed to take the exact table we were waiting for. The explanation given was simply that “the other guests wanted the table.” Completely unacceptable for a hotel of this supposed calibre. The only saving grace was the Duty Manager working on 5 Oct and overseeing the breakfast buffet, who was attentive, proactive, and took the initiative to check if guests needed drinks or assistance. His professionalism truly stood out amidst the confusion elsewhere. For a hotel that boasts winning the Forbes Travel Guide 5-Star Award seven years in a row, this experience was frankly a joke. The gap between Crockfords’ reputation and its actual service standards is staggering. Truly disappointing and nowhere near what one would expect from a so-called luxury hotel. PS: At least the view was great.

AAnonymous UserHonestly, this hotel probably doesn't meet 5-star standards. The bed and pillows were okay comfort-wise, though I felt a little itchy sleeping without clothes on. The scariest part was how dirty the towels were; I've attached photos, and it's clearly visible.

NNaxaOur experience while staying at the Chopthorne Cameron Highlands Hotel for 3 days and 2 nights was very good. It is located in a high land area and the weather is very cold these days. The friendly staff serves customers. The room we stayed in is quite spacious and has quite complete amenities. Only toothbrushes and toothpaste are not provided. Filtered drinking water is provided in the room corridor. The hotel also provides an indoor swimming pool and fitness center. The hotel also provides breakfast with a variety of choices. Parking is also provided for those staying here. Electric car chargers are also provided for electric vehicles. Don't forget there are also games for children and a mini pool for adults, provided in the lobby area.

EElvis SeowExceptional Stay – Truly One of the Best Holidays We’ve Had We stayed at Antara Residences – Sleeping Lion for 3 days and 2 nights in a 3-bedroom apartment, and it was an absolutely amazing experience from start to finish. Cleanliness & Apartment Condition: The apartment was spotlessly clean and in tip-top condition. Everything was well maintained, and it was clear that a lot of care goes into housekeeping. Toiletries were fully provided, which made the stay even more comfortable and hassle-free. Outstanding Staff & Service: What truly stood out was the exceptional service from every department: Reception staff were very friendly, welcoming, and informative. Housekeeping responded incredibly fast — extra towels were delivered in under 10 minutes after our request. We experienced a slight choke in one of the common toilets, and the technician arrived in less than 10 minutes and resolved it within 5 minutes. Super efficient. Security deserves special mention — always alert, professional, and even greeting or saluting guests, which made us feel very safe and respected throughout our stay. Facilities – Thoughtfully Designed & Family-Friendly The facilities were excellent: A heated indoor pool, kids’ pool, three jacuzzi pools, plus separate saunas for men and women. Our unit included a private indoor heated whirlpool/jacuzzi at the balcony, which was a real highlight. Wi-Fi was stable and fast — no lag while watching Netflix, which is already available on the TV. Lift access via keycard scanning added to the sense of security. Parking was very reasonable at RM10 per day. We parked for all 3 days and conveniently used Grab when heading out instead of driving. Excellent Problem Handling: On the first day, we had trouble operating the private whirlpool and the water remained icy cold despite waiting for hours, which was disappointing as we missed using it that night. However, the way the Sleeping Lion team handled it completely turned things around. The next day, while we were out, I contacted their support line to help set it up properly. True to their word, they updated me that the whirlpool was fully heated before we even returned to the apartment. That level of follow-through really impressed us. On another occasion, we were waiting at the wrong Grab pickup point. The reception staff noticed us, proactively informed us of the correct location, and personally escorted us there — a small gesture, but one that shows genuine care for guests. Location & Convenience: The location is fantastic. There’s a shopping mall right downstairs with a 24-hour convenience store at ground level, making everything extremely convenient. The view from the apartment was also beautiful, adding to the overall holiday feel. Final Thoughts: Overall, the vibe of our stay can be summed up in one phrase: Amazing — best holiday ever. This place is highly recommended for families and staycations, and we would definitely return and recommend Antara Residences – Sleeping Lion without hesitation. Thank you to the entire team for making our stay so comfortable, memorable, and enjoyable.

GGuest UserEasy to find location, next to the theme park only. Just follow the signboard to find the hotel. Car park location is not so friendly, need to park a bit further away. Other than that, love the room. Spacious, clean and love the creative decoration. Basic toiletries are provided and sufficient towels are give. Free drinking bottles are provided in the mini fridge. Super easy to self check in and out too. In conclusion, will definitely visit the hotel again.
