I understand that this is the largest hotel in Kuantan and it is imposing. They decorated enthusiastically for Christmas. The rooms are large enough with clean linens and a firm mattress. The location is great since it's across the road from the largest mall. The coffee lounge was satisfactory. The main problem area was that almost no one spoke basic English well enough to understand simple requests. They try and mean well but only a few could understand what I wanted. This was very frustrating. We stayed in this hotel three years ago as well, and there was not this problem at that time. Also, the safe in our room did not work.
The room was spacious, perfect for a small family. The highlight, of course, was the view, sea and pool views that were absolutely lovely. One night was definitely not enough. Just open the window and you’ll feel the sea breeze; so calm and so beautiful.
Breakfast was fairly normal, nothing fancy. If you’re not local, I’d recommend going out for breakfast around Kuantan town, there are so many great options to choose from.
For dinner, Ana Ikan Bakar Petai is just right in front of the hotel. It’s the most famous restaurant in Tanjung Lumpur and within walking distance.
Definitely will come again for a short vacay.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay at Hyatt Regency Kuantan, especially the ambience and hospitality. However, there are a few areas that require attention.
Cons / Areas for Improvement:
1. Water pressure was quite slow, especially for the shower. When turned to hot water, the pressure increased, but once switched to cold, it became extremely weak.
2. There was water maintenance work happening during our stay. Although the hotel assured that everything was under control, it did affect our comfort while on holiday.
3. We noticed a small clump of dust on the floor. While it was minor, as we were staying with a 2-year-old toddler, it raised concerns as children tend to put things into their mouth. Housekeeping may need to be more thorough.
4. There should be better control of wild monkeys, especially around the parking area. I was chased and nearly bitten, which was quite frightening and unsafe for guests.
Pros / What We Appreciate:
1. Excellent service recovery — I forgot to disable the “Do Not Disturb” sign but informed the front desk to clean the room. The housekeeping staff called first to ask for permission before entering, which shows professionalism and true 5-star service standards.
2. The hotel’s surroundings are beautiful, clean, and very calming — truly breathtaking.
3. The beach is very clean and conveniently located right next to the hotel.
4. Large swimming pools (two pools available), so it never felt crowded.
5. Staff were extremely friendly, polite, and always willing to help.
Conclusion:
Hyatt Regency Kuantan has great potential with its beautiful location, facilities, and outstanding staff. With improvements in water system management, housekeeping checks, and wildlife control, the overall guest experience would be even better.
We had a wonderful stay at the hotel, enjoying the beautiful and comfortable environment, as well as the kids-friendly facilities and easy access to the beach. However, we did notice that the swimming pool area had some safety concerns. There were broken tiles and cracks around the swimming pool, which could pose a safety risk, especially for children. Additionally, we noticed some yellow stains on the bedsheets. Overall, it was a pleasant stay, but attention to these maintenance issues would definitely improve the experience.
We had a wonderful family stay! The rooms were spacious, clean, and comfortable. Staff were friendly and attentive, making us feel at home. The kids loved the amenities, and the location was perfect for exploring nearby attractions. Highly recommend for families!
I had a nice time in The Chateau Sp & Wellness Resort. It's located in the hills outside Kuala Lumpur where it's cool and when I was there it was raining which made it even cooler. Breakfast was good, specially the first day when there was more choice. In the evening there was apparently another service offered in my room but I wasn't informed about that so I had no idea why someone was ringing my bell and calling me. It would be good if all services would be explained very well.
Very old building, old facilities.. but overall still a good stay
1. The escalator was too old, it took at least 1min to get the door opened.. please upgrade a better lift
2. We stayed in Fushcia building, big room, with living room, dining area, a queen size bed, a dressing area, spacious bathroom, a bathtub - cost for RM290/night on a weekend. I feel is worthy. Given shampoo, shower gel, lotion, muji toothbrush and colgate toothpaste, shower cap, vanity kit and sanitary bag. Also, in the cupboard, there is laundry bag and slippers. Only the heater will automatically stop working after sometimes when we shower. Overall worth a 3/5 for me.
3. Talking about the activities, limited. No shows, no fun, no vibes. Suggest to revamp and reopen to attract more local tourists. Current situation is, most locals come for one day trip and foreign tourists only will choose to stay here. Without fun activities, there will not be much reputation built
I enjoyed my stay at Shahzan Hotel Kuantan, especially as a business traveller needing a quick rest. The hotel is centrally located in town, making it very convenient with easy access to food and nearby amenities.
The breakfast selection was basic but reasonable for the price. The air conditioning was super cold, and the shower water pressure was excellent—definitely a plus after a long day. Underground parking is free, though spaces are quite limited.
Overall, it was a comfortable stay, and I would consider staying here again in the future. 😊
had a pleasant stay overall, but the pool could definitely be improved. When we arrived, the staff were still in the middle of cleaning the pool. Even after they were done, the water was still a bit cloudy and didn’t look fully clean. Hopefully the hotel can maintain the pool better because everything else about the stay was good
The room is as what was advertised - body and hair shampoo provided. Room is clean. Towels are clean but you can see they are abit worn out. I am not complaining given the price we pay. There are 2 hotel reserved parking lots and we have been lucky to be able to utilise them while we were there for 3 days 2 nites stay. Staff are helpful. We stayed on level 2 - the highest level. However, on Sat night, very late at night, maybe in the wee hours, we could hear furnitures being moved and dragged above us. The hotel may want to avoid such furniture move during these hours so as not to disturb the sleeping time of their guests

SSyikin AhmadLocation is good, within walking distance to restaurants and convenient shops. Use the connection bridge at L5.
Very near to GPO and cable car station, about 5 mins drive.
Parking is allocated for 1 car.
The apartment was clean, with basic amenities like 2 door fridge, washing machine, microwave, basic cutleries, bowls and plates. No pots and pans although there is cooking stovetop.
Towels are provided but get prepared to wait longer if u plan during weekends or public holidays. I have to wait for almost 3 hours before I can eventually receive the towels at my rented unit. The aircond is only inside 1 room. No AC at the main hall, only ceiling fans. The hall was converted to a sleeping area with 1 queen+1 single. Soap and shampoo are provided, and the shower comes with a water heater.
Overall I'm ok with our 2 nights stay. The only thing that needs improvement is the check in, it took me almost 1.5 hours due to long queues before i can finally make it to the check in counter. I understand it's due to the weekend/public holiday, but at least the management should prepare some chairs outside knowing that people have to stand long in the queue, and some welcoming drinks would be even better.
MmangosellerI stayed at Crockfords Hotel Genting in early October 2025 and was genuinely disappointed by the level of service — especially for a hotel that claims to be Malaysia’s leading luxury property.
On 3 October, I approached the concierge Duty Manager around 9:40am regarding the hotel Wi-Fi, which kept showing an “invalid credentials” error. Instead of taking the initiative to verify the problem — which turned out to be something as simple as incorrect login details given at check-in — he insisted that the IT team would need to come into my room to fix it.
Later in the day, another staff member resolved the issue within minutes by simply checking the credentials. It’s baffling how the Duty Manager couldn’t do something that basic.
Throughout my stay, I also noticed that many of the staff seemed lost and unsure of how to handle simple situations — almost like the blind leading the blind. There was a clear lack of coordination and communication among them.
The breakfast experience was another major letdown. I had breakfast there for three consecutive days, and throughout, the food was never hot — the noodles in soup were the only consistently warm item served. To make matters worse, the staff did not communicate properly among themselves. On one morning, we were told to wait while a table by the window was being cleared for us. After waiting a good five minutes, another group of guests was allowed to take the exact table we were waiting for. The explanation given was simply that “the other guests wanted the table.” Completely unacceptable for a hotel of this supposed calibre.
The only saving grace was the Duty Manager working on 5 Oct and overseeing the breakfast buffet, who was attentive, proactive, and took the initiative to check if guests needed drinks or assistance. His professionalism truly stood out amidst the confusion elsewhere.
For a hotel that boasts winning the Forbes Travel Guide 5-Star Award seven years in a row, this experience was frankly a joke. The gap between Crockfords’ reputation and its actual service standards is staggering.
Truly disappointing and nowhere near what one would expect from a so-called luxury hotel.
PS: At least the view was great.
AAnonymous UserHonestly, this hotel probably doesn't meet 5-star standards. The bed and pillows were okay comfort-wise, though I felt a little itchy sleeping without clothes on. The scariest part was how dirty the towels were; I've attached photos, and it's clearly visible.
NNaxaOur experience while staying at the Chopthorne Cameron Highlands Hotel for 3 days and 2 nights was very good. It is located in a high land area and the weather is very cold these days. The friendly staff serves customers. The room we stayed in is quite spacious and has quite complete amenities. Only toothbrushes and toothpaste are not provided. Filtered drinking water is provided in the room corridor. The hotel also provides an indoor swimming pool and fitness center. The hotel also provides breakfast with a variety of choices. Parking is also provided for those staying here. Electric car chargers are also provided for electric vehicles. Don't forget there are also games for children and a mini pool for adults, provided in the lobby area.
GGuest UserInteresting hotel with a large pool and comfortable kids' pool. The children loved it. My only suggestion is that the rooms could use better soundproofing. Otherwise, everything was good.
GGuest UserRoom suit for 2 pax.
Toilet and shower seperated.
If u have more than 2 luggages the room quite small
So far the room just ok for me 1 pax and the nearest
to all amenities up at the genting. Im travelling and staying here because of the Prudential event. I find it very convenient to stay here. My 2nd time staying here for both occasion.
AAnonymous UserThe apartment is newly renovated with very high-end furnishings and appliances. It has everything you need, including a refrigerator, TV, washing machine, and kitchenware, all from premium brands.
Check-in is after 3 PM, but you can drop off your luggage if you arrive early. For hot water in the shower, you'll need to turn on the water heater about an hour beforehand.
The location is about a 15-minute walk to the Peak. There's a covered walkway all the way, but it's uphill, so it's not an easy stroll. There's a mall downstairs with restaurants and a supermarket.
If you're taking a Grab, just tell the driver to drop you off at Block C or D of ANTARA.
起起名换了几十个This was my second stay at this hotel. I booked a high-floor room with a terrace for two nights. The front desk service was excellent; they allowed us to check in early. On the first day, I was given room 7490. The terrace view was beautiful, but the room was right next to the main road. I was woken up in the middle of the night by motorcycles speeding by.
The second day, I went to the front desk and changed to an inner room, 7480. The room seemed to have been freshly painted, but opening the terrace door for ventilation helped a bit. The evening temperature was 15 degrees Celsius, which was very cold. The first night, the duvet was too thin, and my boyfriend and I had to use two duvets to finally get some sleep because we were so cold. When we switched rooms on the second night, we asked for two more duvets, and I didn't feel cold at all, but I coughed half the night due to the paint smell. I didn't dare open the terrace door for fear of moisture getting in.
The cleaners were very friendly and proactively offered cleaning services, even asking if we needed anything. The overall cleanliness was excellent.
I really liked the hotel's design and beautiful scenery, but it's quite a long walk to the First Grand Hotel. I suppose it could count as a workout. There's also a charming little garden in front of the hotel.
HHnin AyeVery nice view from the hotel.
Excellent services and the most prefer restaurant was Chinese Restaurant at Level 1.
We are very satisfied with every day house keeping in the room.
Keep up your work 😍😍
GGuest UserWe were a party of 5 people. We truly enjoyed our stay the entire duration. The Service was really top notch. Most of what we requested was granted which make our stay truly memorable and enjoyable. Breakfast was excellent. Will be looking forward to return again with more of our other family members to experience the hospitality.
