Spin Designer Hostel - El Nido
4.6/557 Reviews
My two nights stay at El Nido. I took a single room in this hostel. Room: Very clean. Bed was comfy. AC performance was Ok. Bathroom was clean and had hot water running, had bath gel and shampoo. Wifi worked super. Service: Staffs are very helpful. I must mention about Kaye who helped me to choose tour operators, food places and things to do in El Nido. Breakfast was fine- american brekafast, some local item and fruits+tea/coffee. Every monday they do a movie night from 7pm at their dining area. Boarders can use manual washing machine for free. Location: Superb. Only 8/10 mins walk to the happening area of El Nido beach. Las cabanas beach is only 8/10 minutes by tricycle. Airport is around 15/20 mins away.

The service in the hotel is great, the staff are very considerate and ask for your needs, and everyone is very enthusiastic! The meals are delicious, the menu has many choices, and the meals recommended by the staff are also great. The facilities are very comfortable and very suitable for diving. You can enjoy various services and beaches in the resort without diving. It is a very good place for vacation. Place 👍
The Mang-Yan Grand Hotel powered by Cocotel

It's not old among the White Beach accommodations, so it's clean. Access to the beach is good, but the downside is that Wi-Fi is completely impossible if you go beyond the 1st floor. Breakfast is provided and there is a swimming pool, so it's an appropriate choice except for the Internet.

The hotel is located right on the beach in the letter P, along the highway, which is also the central road of the city. On the sides there are rooms, at the end of the “legs” there are rooms with an exit and views of the sea, we were visited in one of these rooms (No. 10). Immediately upon check-in, we saw a sign with tour options, in the city they offer four types, we chose tours A and B from the hotel, you can get to Puerto Princesa (700 pesos per person). There is no water in the room, but in the restaurant there is a cooler where everyone runs to fill up bottles, at the reception they sell water for 100 pesos for 1.5 liters, near the market water is sold for 70 for 2 liters (at 7-11 in Manila the same amount costs 46 pesos). The room has soap, shampoo in bags, toothbrushes, toothpaste, they are provided once upon arrival, but it will last for three days, and I already carry my own shampoo and conditioner. The plumbing was a bit old, the sink was broken in one place, but overall it didn’t bother us. Instead of a blanket there was a sheet, and at night I froze a little, then I started sleeping in a T-shirt. I should note that on the last day I discovered bites on myself - I still don’t know whether there were bugs in the pillow (but then I would have been bitten all three days), or whether I was bitten by plankton in the shallow water where I was sitting in water until night. Breakfast from 7 to 10, rice, scrambled eggs, tomatoes, two types of meat, cucumber water, pancakes, bananas, coffee, tea. Not very varied, but the hot food was different every day, we ate our fill, everything was filling. The first morning we left on time and all the food was already standing, the second time we left on time again, but waited another 15 minutes for food, while the staff was giggling in the main building. The beach is shallow, 4 sun loungers and two hammocks. There are people on the beach either in the morning or in the late afternoon, there is no rush. The water was shallow and reached the buoys and up to the knee. At night the tide is low and if you look out of the room, and we are looking at the water five meters away, there is no water. Overall we liked the hotel and would be happy to come again. On the right and left there are hotels costing 20 thousand per night and I don’t understand why they overpay so much.

One El Nido Suite

The hotel was okay. Not the best, but not the worst. Staff was very hospitable, responding and polite. We did have some issues with the room (clogged sink, weak water supply from the shower head), but the staff did help a lot. Breakfast was exceptional, worth adding. The worst thing was the noise outside. There are kids playing some explosive petards at night and roosters screaming since 5 am in the morning, so it was extremely hard to sleep. And we could not sleep at all on New Year’s night because of the fireworks, so I definitely do not recommend booking this hotel during New Year holiday. But if you are a solid unbothered sleeper, you will definitely enjoy the stay 👍🏻
Matinloc Island Resort

The resort is in a great location with a small but quiet beach and a nice house reef outside. Beware that some units require walking up a lot of steps and the ones set away from the beach have a lot of mosquitoes around. The staff are super friendly and nice although the service of the hotel could be more attentive i.e when lying on the beach you don’t get asked if you want drinks. Room cleaning was only done once in our 7 day stay and only because we asked for it. Towels are not automatically offered to beach goers all the time. The restaurant is pretty slow with almost an hour for food to arrive sometimes. The food itself can be nice depending on what you order. Some is pretty good actually…others a bit average. Pricewise, this isn’t a cheap hotel and I feel that if you compare the price to resorts in other tropical beach locations around the world, you get much better service in other places like Sheratons, Marriotts and Hiltons etc. that said, overall I would still recommend Matinloc for the great beach and reef.

Our overnight stay at Citystate Asturias Hotel proved to be a delightful introduction to Puerto Princesa, offering a warm welcome and impeccable service from start to finish. From the moment we arrived at the hotel after a long flight, we were greeted by an exceptional team of staff who went above and beyond to ensure our comfort and satisfaction. Despite the numerous bags we had in tow, every member of the staff, from the guard to the receptionist, eagerly assisted us, making us feel truly valued as guests. A special mention must be made for Henry at the Front Desk, whose hospitality and professionalism stood out during our stay. From arranging our airport transfer to facilitating our check-in and check-out, Henry's dedication to ensuring our needs were met was evident at every turn, making him a true asset to the hotel. Entering our room, we were pleasantly surprised by its cozy charm. While it may not boast the sleek modernity of newer establishments, the room offered everything we needed and more. The comfortable furnishings, coupled with thoughtful amenities, provided a relaxing haven after a day of travel. One of the highlights of our stay was the complimentary buffet breakfast offered at Citystate Asturias Hotel. With a wide array of options to choose from, ranging from local delicacies to international favorites, the breakfast spread exceeded our expectations in both variety and taste. The service staff is very friendly, and the location is very convenient. You can walk to the busiest street in town and the seaside! The twin room we booked is facing the sunset, so it is very convenient to watch the sunset from the room. The room is big, but you just need to pay attention to whether there are mice...
